Summary: It's Thanksgiving. There's a meal and socializing. Also fun.
Rating: PG, PG-13 max? A kid got invited to this.
Considering how last minute all of this had been, Pepper was actually pretty satisfied with how things were turning out. Rogue had shown up early with helpers in tow, immediately setting to work in the kitchen. The house had been filled with delicious aromas shortly thereafter, and Pepper busied herself with the other details until guests started to arrive--at which point part of her job became keeping people out of the kitchen, per Rogue's orders.

The set up was straightforward: the dining room table was used to hold the assorted dishes, where people could fix themselves plates. A similar set up with drinks (although please, don't give alcohol to the children). Chairs set out for people to sit, since there were too many to even attempt a traditional sit down dinner. But that was fine by Pepper, who made her way through the group, making sure everyone was happy, or at least not destroying part of her house.

Better safe than sorry, with this crowd.

Ha! Flatterer.

[She flashed him a quick grin.]

That's not gonna get you an advanced shot at the pie, ya know.

[He winks cheekily at her.]

Damn, there goes that plan. Just make sure the kids don't eat it all before I get a shot.

Sure you are. [She sighed and shook her head.] An' it ain't the kids you hafta worry about.

Yeah, but I can get mad at Stark. I just feel bad if I get mad at kids over pie.

[touchofrogue]

[Congratulations, Clint! You win a small laugh.]

Well, there should be enough. Mr. Grimm brought some too.

[And she made Tony an extra one that he is only to eat if he behaves and stays out of her kitchen. He'll get it if he misbehaves too - over the head. He does not know this yet, however.]

[He will take that laugh as a success, thankyou!]

Yeah? He was in the kitchen for a really long time this morning. Guess that must've been what he was making.

I'm surprised you didn't try ta filch one.

I would have, but Coulson and Natasha were forcing me into nice clothes and forcibly disarming me.

[touchofrogue]

[Her eyebrows arched and the beginnings of a smile threatened.]

Forcibly disarming you?

Well, they said that My bow would take up too much space when there were gonna be this many people around, and guns were just impolite and no, I can't bring knives and using them to cut food is not an excuse, do you not remember what you've done with them on missions?

[So he's exaggerating a little bit, but the general idea is the same.]

[touchofrogue]

[For a moment, Rogue envisions herself attempting to tell Logan he couldn't cut the turkey with his claws. Ha. Hahahahaha. Ha.]

It's probably good for you.

[She said, but she was really wondering if all three of them had followed suit.]

A lesson in... somethin'.

Yeah, Coulson said that too. I'm not convinced.

[Of course, no-one had bothered to tell Natasha that she couldn't come armed.]

Far as I can see, it's mainly a lesson in... not being armed.

[touchofrogue]

[She grins.] But did he say it with such charm and finesse?

[Yes, she's sure he said it with much more specificity than 'a lesson in something' and probably with less uncertainty, but that is besides the point.]

Don't worry. If we get attacked, it's someone with extraordinarily poor judgement. I think I might even be convinced into playin' hero for poor unarmed SHIELD agents.

I doubt anyone could say it with such charm and finesse as you, sweetheart.

[He laughs at that. She's right. Anyone would have to be spectacularly stupid to attack this particular party.]

Oh my hero. Promise you'll be gentle with me.

[touchofrogue]

[And he wins another laugh.]

Well... [wink] since ya asked me nice.

[And a timer went off. Rogue turned to investigate what needed checking.]

[Clint glances over when the timer went off.]
