Happy Happy Turkey Day

Who: Marvel people plus friends. I'm not even attempting to make this list out.
What: Marvelsgiving!
When: November 22, 2012
Where: House 49
Summary: It's Thanksgiving. There's a meal and socializing. Also fun.
Rating: PG, PG-13 max? A kid got invited to this.
Considering how last minute all of this had been, Pepper was actually pretty satisfied with how things were turning out. Rogue had shown up early with helpers in tow, immediately setting to work in the kitchen. The house had been filled with delicious aromas shortly thereafter, and Pepper busied herself with the other details until guests started to arrive--at which point part of her job became keeping people out of the kitchen, per Rogue's orders.

The set up was straightforward: the dining room table was used to hold the assorted dishes, where people could fix themselves plates. A similar set up with drinks (although please, don't give alcohol to the children). Chairs set out for people to sit, since there were too many to even attempt a traditional sit down dinner. But that was fine by Pepper, who made her way through the group, making sure everyone was happy, or at least not destroying part of her house.

Better safe than sorry, with this crowd.

(ooc: post! mingle! include whatever dish your character brought for the potluck and wait for them to be judged. and as always, have fun.)

"Yeah," he said with a nod. 'Friends' was the easiest way to put it when, unlike the other boy, Jason didn't wear his costume every second of the day. "We haven't known each other long, but we get along alright. I know it's hard to believe, but he's not all that bad. My name's Jason."

Here, he might have offered a handshake, but since she was busy with the oven, he decided it was better not to interrupt.

Rogue glanced back over at him and nodded, "Rogue. Nice ta meetcha."

She bent down and stuck a gloved hand inside the oven, poking at it. "Knew a guy from Robin's world. He never mentioned a Jason."

Just. You know. Saying.

"Nice to meet you, too." Despite the fact that they'd only just started talking, Jason didn't think she was too bad so far. He couldn't help but feel intrigued by what she said, though, curious about whoever it was that she could have meant. "Really? I mean, he didn't know me, either. Before my time and all. I guess it happens."

Straightening up, Rogue shut the oven's door and adjusted the timer. She turned around to address Jason, braced her elbows on the counter behind her, and answered his unspoken question. "Beast Boy. He lived with us for a while."

"Wow, Beast Boy was here?" He'd known that all kinds of people had been brought here before—he'd been told right from the start that even Batman was here once—but it was still surprising to hear about someone he knew having been here (even if they probably hadn't known him). "That's kinda like hearin' of a celebrity getting stuck here or something. Everyone knows the Titans."

"Heh," Rogue laughed quietly and her smile lingered on her face for a moment. "He'd sure love ta hear you say so."

"It's pretty weird to think of people like that being here. I wonder if I'll get to meet anyone interesting before going back."

Jason used the term pretty loosely here, of course. He'd met plenty of interesting people in Luceti, but Robin was the only hero from his world and he didn't really count.

"Can't say I wouldn't like that. I mean, I don't like being stuck here, just like anyone else, but it'd be great if something nice could happen while we are stuck here." He missed being home more than anything else, but there had been at least a few good things to happen to him here. "Have you gotten the good kinda lucky?"

Rogue huffed in amusement, the corner of her mouth turning up, "Ya know, in some circles, that kinda question could be considered rude."

"Hey, lady, I'm a good kid. Nothin' rude about me." Well. At least not for the moment, despite his smirk. "I mean it as innocent as possible. How's this place treated you so far?"

"Like it treats everyone else, mostly," Rogue said, turning a bit to grab a fork and poke at the boiling potatoes. "A mix of roadkill and lab rat."
