The Great Pancake Disaster (and other fairly stupid tales)
Who: Clint, Bucky, Steve, Coulson, Natasha
What: Sticky superheroes
When: December 7th
Where: Battle Dome then Clint's apartment
Summary: Clint promised Bucky there would be pancakes. Things don't go quite as planned.
Rating: PG-15 for eventual non-sexual nudity?
The Battle Dome room is set up a little differently today, just while he waits for Barnes to arrive for their regular practice session. There are mats laid out on the floor and a trapeze in the centre of the room, high enough that it takes a little ramp to get up to it.
Right now though, Clint is focused on the tightrope that he's got set up to cross the room a couple of meters above the ground. It's been a while since he's done much with a lot of what he learned back in the circus, beyond shooting anyway, but Adele was right, you have to have something to soothe the boredom.
He takes the first step out onto the wire, sure footed, wobbling a little bit as he finds the balance for it, and the another step until he's out in the middle of the wire.

He's not usually too worried about himself, but he spent most of his adolescent years in and out with Steve. Waiting is the worst.
He's glad to hear he's not off the mark with the way he's got Clint pegged.
He starts eating chocolate chips right out of the bag as soon as Clint hands them over. The comment doesn't register right away, but he gets the gist of it after a moment and shakes his head. "If that's what you're worried about the future's a bleaker place than I thought."

The moment it takes Bucky to get what he means is a sudden sharp reminder of the time difference between them. He eats his own handful of chocolate, chewing them thoughtfully. "Oh, in that way, it's plenty bleak. Weight loss is a multi-billion dollar industry." He turns around to start heating up the oil in the pan.

He's got no idea what to make of weight loss being an industry. It's not like cars or bullets and bombs - how does that even work? And then Clint says it's a multi-billion dollar industry and Bucky decides he must be joking. He rolls his eyes.
"Nice try, Barton. There's not that much money in the whole country."

The reaction takes him by surprise and he frowns, giving Bucky a confused look. "What? 'course there is. The economy is worth... trillions. A few trillions. And we kind of owe that much money to other countries too." Economics was not really anything he tried to understand. He got paid enough to live comfortably. That was all he really cared about.

"...Huh. Everything really did cost less in the old days. You could see a show for a quarter on the weekends and that was gettin' a little pricey."
