Sometimes a man goes to slay his demons
Who: Trafalgar Law, Itachi Uchiha, Adele LeBlanc, Gai Tsutsugami, others
What: The fallout from a failed(?) kidnapping
When: 28th of January ongoing
Where: House 22 moving to the Battle Dome
Summary: For every victory a price must be paid, and sometimes the currency is in blood. It’s an arrangement Law’s long accepted; one can’t move ahead without sacrifice after all. But in winning this battle, the cost might not fall on him alone.
Rating: Mature
One of them had hung back.
The world greyed, tunnelled in, and consciousness collapsed, thoughts spiralling down, down, down. One of them had hung back, while the rest had come… come… co…m…e…
Sway. Sway. There is soft moaning. Where is it? Him? Is he making sounds? He should be silent.
Sway. Sway. There is fire on him. Where is it? Fire on his back. His wing. There is fire but no flames. Torn clothing, mangled flesh. Feathers. B-L-O-O-D.
Pain. Blood. Sometimes his vision goes red. His body is… crunchy sometimes, swollen other places, under his careful fingers. Trauma. Broken ribs. Internal bleeding. Down, down, down - look down. Darts in thigh. Shiny.
His head hurts.
Concussion. DRUGGED.
One of them had hung back while the rest had come. Why, why, why? Could it have been scared? No… droid. Sleek droid. Shiny and new. Droids don’t feel fear. It had watched. But it had a brain. Do droids with brains feel fear?
Something hit him. His thigh. Fight we...nt… bad then… can’t think. "… help."
Help.
Very bad. Can’t… THINK. CAN’T REMEMBER. Lightning, parts flying… all smeared and twisted… CAN’T REMEMBER. Grappling. Fabric tearing. Wings exposed.
Agony and the world breaking.
He broke the world. He broke it and the droid left.
All wrong.
Wrong.
T-E-S-T?
(for whom?)
Maybe. Bad.
He doesn’t know.
He broke the world… the forest --- didn’t he? Where was he? This was his house. His front door. Did he walk?
Knock, knock.

I hope the bed rest isn't bothering you.
[... Without Adell and now given the command of the Rogues, suddenly, she is no longer sure what applies -- whenever if she is the UNSC's Chief Petty Officer, or this world's Captain. For all she cares about, Trafalgar Law is still in command for what he knows.]

[Marco will answer this prayer, but since Law isn't covered with blue sparkles yet? His thread comes after Daisy's.]
no subject
[She reminds herself to grant a few next time she visits. The vow of silence will come included when she sees Law covered in glitter.]
I think this is only the second or third report I've heard in here of people fighting off the droids.
no subject
... it doesn't happen often, no. Even after... things. [The sabotage mission, of which they were both a part of.] Hn, I guess lightning strikes twice in my case.

[Her voice doesn't betray her disappointment. But she came here for a reason.]
I need to know what did you do to neutralize them.
no subject
[Pressing his lips together.] I have an ability that allows me to "cut" anything [Within his Room and as long as Haki or something isn't neutralizing it.] as one of the powers it grants. The droids weren't able to cancel it out completely. [He... broke the world. Trying to think back on it now, he has to wonder exactly what he did to make him think he broke the world. So he has to guess and he thinks it's probably similar to what he did last time.] I also can generate electrical charges. [Countershock. A mastery of Tsinku. Natural ability and magic hand in hand.]
The combination doesn't agree really with them.

The models didn't return. [She notes.] But the errors given in the production models weren't as common. I think we put the weakness spread around, so it's not as obvious.
...
[She's almost afraid to ask this for Pascal's sake.]
Did you kick one in the crotch?
no subject
[Partial victory for Pascal? 8|a]
... not all the droids attacked, though. There was one... a new model, I think... that hung back and watched the entire thing.

Her helmet tilts a little when she hears of the different model.]
The one of the Dome incident. And that looked for Bil.
[She states unemotionally. As if the girl that tried to murder Bil had been someone else.]
They planned something else.

[More things to record. After this, she will have to see if these incidents repeat.]

[She still hears the meaning behind the "that they've found".]
It could be a shift.
no subject
It could be. All they would need is the signature from my barcode and they could activate one remotely. No need to drag me in.
no subject
If that's the case, the Rogue Faction could have found a way to work better with Shifts. With little need of kidnapping.
[An equally disturbing possibility. Were they too late?]
Sir. Even with Adell gone... we'll be awaiting orders whenever you need us.
no subject
We all better keep a careful eye on things from now on. See if they pull anything else along those lines.
... and thank you.
no subject
Always, sir.
[She walks out of the room, having recorded the conversation. She would have to take notes of what transpired and their theories.
With what the droids did, a part of her hoped she wouldn't need to research more about this.]
