Summary: TRAINERS. AND FRIENDS. AND POKÉMON. AND BONDING. AND FOOD.
Rating: Crys is here so who knows how violent it'll get.
[IT'S TIME... TO D-D-D-D-party.

AKA today is trainer day! The second one. And you know what's great? It's snowing! Making it perfect weather for shounen snowball fights or whatever the heck else people do in snow (I wouldn't know). Snow aside though, there's also lots of food ranging from all kinds of pastries to sandwiches scattered around a few large designated food tables. Hopefully there's enough to accommodate everyone...! There are also Frisbees and volley/soccer balls and whatever other toys people may have brought along.

But yes. Go forth, young trainers. And bond like you've never bonded before!!]

[As a man on review for if he's fit to be a trainer, who's had his pokedex taken from him, and who's given up on training his protege (because he was never that good in the first place), Masaomi feels a breed apart from everyone here. The fact that Malnosso effect is still on for both him and his mouse certainly does not help matters. While there's a smile plastered on his face and he is here at all, he's really not making much effort to socialize. Not really.

Him and Linda instead content (well, "content" - she seems put out) with going onto whatever part of the lake is frozen, thinking about ice fishing. Or maybe backing up to tree's edge and lean against one. Or generally flicker around, looking like they're doing things. He's in thick gloves today, as well as making sure his whole body is covered sans his face. Not that this looks unusual, given the weather]

[Green comes up to check on Masaomi, looking more neutral than the frustrated and angry worry from their last big conversation. Still, it's not so different than most of their training sessions, since Green was simply starting with getting Masaomi ordering his Pokémon.]

How is Linda today, Masaomi?

[The visible effect of Green talking to him is, well, visible. He stands a little straighter, his eyes lose a little mirth, and his tone actually gets a little flatter. He did tell Green he was back from his kidnapping (filtered message) two days ago, and he assumes the guy got it. Probably why he's asking, right? He glances down at his heels, where the mouse is eating an apple, and then back at Green, waving a gloved hand]

Well, she's not injured right now.

[Well, at least he's getting a more stern and serious attitude out of you...? But it's the mallynapping that is in Green's mind with the follow-up question.]

And how are you faring?

Well I'm not injured either.

[Flatly. Still flatly.]

[cooltrainer]

I'm giving you a week off of training in battle, regardless. But I want you to work on communication with Linda, and get to the point where she will listen to you when you give her a command and you are able to direct her without pushing harder than she'll accept. I can't tell you how to do that. As a trainer, that is your responsibility to find out for yourself.

Sir, yes, sir.

[He tries not to sound sarcastic, but really, he can't help it. There's still a note of it there. Even if talks with Shikamaru over time have made him more relaxed about it all, the "know nothing" vibe still jerks him at a basic level]

[He still hasn't confronted Masaomi- he hasn't been around, so it's understandable, but regardless, it's not something for here and now.

Still, he feels like he should say something, but...

...No. He won't say anything to him.



What he will do is pelt him with a snowball.]

[The snowball hits him in the face, which causes a strange electrical discharge on impact, which stings his face a little. He groans a bit, turning in the direction of-- oh, Silver. He plasters a crooked grin on his face before bending town to make his own snowball to retaliate]

[tsuntrader]

[Silver has Sneasel's help, of course- but only with snowball making, and only Sneasel's help. Wouldn't be fair otherwise.

He tosses a second one back and forth between his hands while Masaomi sculpts his own snowball; it's only once he's almost done that Silver tosses his.

Bring it.]

[Rude. That second one hits him too and he frowns before throwing the first one and then rolling off to the side, snapping his fingers to try to summon Linda.

...Who is too far off (at that table over there, stealing a berry) to head him. So instead when she does come-] Come on, Linda!

[Oh, what, you need her? She glances back over as he's rolling an ew snowball]

[Masaomi's snowball comes at him while he's trying to grab a new one from Sneasel, so all he has time for is ducking his head down so it hits the top of his head instead of his face.

It doesn't stop him from tossing a new one, though; if Masaomi's gonna roll off to the side, he just has to toss one in the direction he's headed, right?]

[You'd think! But he actually manages to "catch" this one when he finishes rolling. "catch" - because it's more like it hits his palm and breaks up there. He's still waving his mouse over, and with a little sigh because she finally found a good berry, she's scurrying to meet him]

[While Cilan is somewhat aware of the situation with Masaomi based on what Green's said to him sometime ago, he doesn't quite believe it's his place to bring it up unless Masaomi initiates that conversation on his own. No, instead we're more than happy to just socialize anyway since it's been a while since we last spoke with the other. (Also one or two other people might have forcibly shoved Cilan away from "supervising" things to go do "fun" things instead.) When he and his Crustle shuffling along behind him spot the two of them while walking around, he goes ahead and approaches to give a greeting.]

Hello Masaomi! Have you and Linda been enjoying yourselves today? [The large hermit crab Pokemon with him is giving Masaomi and Linda a curious look and a slight wave of it's front claws in polite greeting, as it hasn't formerly met them before unlike Pansage and Stunfisk, who have sort of met them before since back in their battle in August.]

Oh, hey Cilan-san. Yeah, we're solid.

[just sort of drifting, but solid. He's not really in the mood for the fun thing, but he's representing, watching, and hanging out. Linda's not in much of a better mood, but from his shoulder, he waves back at the bug guy]

Mm, well that's good to hear. [Not that Cilan states whether he believes Masaomi or not. Instead he moves aside to let his Crustle shuffle forward and join them a little better.] I don't recall if I've introduced you to this Pokemon, have I? This is my friend, Crustle.

[In comparison to Pansage, who is...pretty much Cilan in Pokemon form, and Stunfisk, who keeps a blank expression except for when it starts being a troll towards others, Crustle seems to be quiet and polite. It bows it's head slightly with the introduction.]

[Masaomi blinks at the politeness, and Linda does too. Where's the attitude, the mouse can't help but think. ...Still, it is a pretty cute thing. So she flops off Masaomi's shoulder to get more on level with it. Masaomi just waves]

Hey. That's a pretty impressive looking fellow.

[cilantro]

Oh, thank you--Crustle is the evolved form of a Pokemon called "Dwebble"...I'm afraid I don't own a Pokedex so that I can show you what it looked like before, but I'm sure Hilda or one of the other trainers from Unova here wouldn't mind showing it to you if you asked. Before it evolved, I'd say Crustle was...oh, a little smaller than Pansage, I suppose.

[And that's without it's shell attached to it--now Crustle is clearly Cilan's largest Pokemon that he has on hand. Crustle looks back curiously at the Pikachu in front of it. Sup?]

That's a lot of growth, almost as much as Soren's growth. [Not that he saw much of it as a Taillow. But Linda raises a paw, finally, and hi. A little stand offly]

[endgames]

[Well after snowball shenanigans and possibly some of these other threads above, Shikamaru stops over to unceremoniously drop a towel on Masaomi's head.]

Hey man. [There's a bit of electricity running down his face, a little painfully, as he goes to mop up his head some with the towel. Well then]

[Just towel off before you fry yourself or something. He crouches down to sit, speaking lightly.]

In hindsight, this might not have been the best location for you.

It's not like I really got a say in it or anything. [Brushing out his hair and face. He should probably get his shirt, but he's wary to make friction. Or static]

True enough. And no sense muttering over it not. [He jerks a thumb to Masaomi's shirt.] That too.

Now sure how much a towel helps with that. [But with a sigh, he goes to try to gently soak (not scrub) at it with the towel]
