"this ship is taking me far away from the memory of the people who care if i live or die;"
Who: Tony, Jane, Loki, and select invitees.
What: Fun with portals
When: Friday, March 15
Where: House 49
Summary: After months of painstaking work, Tony and Jane are finally ready to test their machine. Things don't exactly go according to plan.
Rating: PG-13 probably???
So here's how things are going to go down: This log will be split into three sub-threads. There will be preshow thread for everyone to tag into before things start to go down. Then, there will be a main thread for Tony, Jane, Loki and Billy for the actual portal testing and immediate results. Finally, there will be a postgame thread for anyone to tag into with their reactions.
A bit about the set-up in Tony’s workshop for you spatially-minded people: the portal itself will be near-center in the room, with all the other tables and equipment (including his armor) moved back against the walls. This will leave plenty of spectator space and clearance room for potential backfiring. But that surely won’t be a problem, because this is going to work, right? Of course right. Ahaha.
That’s it! Refer to this OOC post if you have questions or if you're wondering if your character would be there or not. We’ll be happy to clarify. Enjoy the fallout!

“Sorry.” He can probably guess the reason for her distraction, especially given his opening line. Pepper reaches up, placing a hand over his in gratitude for the support, and manages a small smile. “Is it that obvious? I’ve been trying not to look like I’m slowly losing my mind.”

"To be fair, I'm pretty good at reading body language. It was kind of my... thing for a while?" It came with being a shapeshifter, even before he realized what he was. A person's body language could tell a story that words could not, a truth that was otherwise hidden, and for someone who can change into that person's form, a way to act out their part perfectly.
"You know, if you wanted to talk to someone about that mind you're losing..." He keeps his voice quiet for that, in case Pepper does take up his offer, and talking about worries isn't exactly a thing that should be discussed around others.

"Thank you. I appreciate it, really I do." Pepper steals a glance at the machine, then turns back to Teddy with a small, resigned grin. "But at this point, I think there's not going to be much that can help aside from getting the test over with."

"All right. But if you do need an ear anytime, I'm around." He means now, but also later, should this not work. To clarify, he quiets his voice again as he speaks. "No matter what happens here, I'm with you. Okay?"

"Thank you." Pepper's voice drops to a whisper, but holds no less emotion for that volume. She presses a light kiss to his cheek when she pulls away, her smile coming more easily now, thanks to him. "And you know the same is true in reverse." Billy has a part to play in this too, and although he isn't taking the same risk as Tony or Jane, they can't take anything for granted at this point.
