This post covers the first day, before the attack. Remember, characters here are not expecting an attack and are under the impression they will be going to Region 1 to fight. During this day, draftees will be restricted to T6 and T7 and not permitted access to other areas.

[She follows her gaze annnd swiftly glances away.]

Good point, but a shower would still be nice.

[ Rapunzel offers her an arm, gesturing toward a nearby cot. ] Alright. Let's get you over there.

It didn't need to be a perfect mental image, as every detail was stored somewhere in her memory whether she could bring it up directly or not. Thinking about it just greatly eased the process.

As she did, the world around them shifted, the cottage coming into focus until they were sitting in the middle of it. Every detail was perfect, every nook and cranny just as she was familiar with. Outside, the view expanded as far as the eye could see, but no further. It was a few square miles of her own personal world.

"There. Now, Ms. Adele, this place exists here in your mind. The genjutsu should hold until our power limitations are put back into place. If the heights cause you to panic, you should instantly feel as though you are back here in the safest place in the world, even if the outside view doesn't change." He was pleased with the outcome, honestly. He'd never done this before.

...It was the easiest thing in the world to accept such a sweet gesture. Her eyes flutter shut for a moment -- revelling in memories and in desperate, white-edged affection.

"And beware any and all who try to change us, am I right?"

[ quickly: ] N-no. [ aaand then a little more honestly: ] Well. Sure. Maybe. A bit. But it's not like he was playing a merry little tune on my heart-strings, y'know? There aren't many people left in town who he was close to.

When we get back, we can get matching jerseys.

[Her eyes light up.] Can we??? Jack doesn't like the way they look. But they're so comfortable!

Horner's only interest in fashion is wearing something to get him into a g-- [ gal's pants. okay, buffy, not only is that highly inappropriate it's also highly fibtastic. horner has decent sartorial taste, and just because she doesn't like him doesn't mean she's obligated to critique his wardrobe.

no. wait. who is she kidding? she's totally obligated to do that. ] I mean -- Horner wouldn't know casual if it smacked him across the face and called him names. [ both of which buffy herself liked to do. along with just about never calling him by his first name. ]

Not only will we get jerseys, but I'll take you shopping for other stuff as well. We'll have a girl's day. [ considering the world clem came from, buffy suspects she could use a little pampering. ]

"Something like that."

He glances back behind her.

"Probably need to get back to her, I imagine. I'll be back later."

Certainly! I've got your back, Cloche. Will you be on the front lines? Helping the injured? Managing the troops?

I'm fine, really! [ She chokes, then spits up some bile on the sidewalk. ] Oh... this feels like what Dash said altitude sickness was for some other ponies. I didn't think it'd be a problem now that I've got wings!

[She complies, out of sheer exhaustion, and doesn't so much lie down on the cot as flop.

Face down. Like a champ. Apparently even when she's complying she can't stop being difficult.]

"Sorry. Normally I'm not such a whiner."

[gleamed]

[ Rapunzel can't help a small snicker at that. She had infinite patience on her side. ]

You're not the only one feeling sick. Don't feel bad.

I shouldn't really be too excited for it, but I have a real rune to use to help this time around and I've never had one of my own before.

It should do a bit of a better job than rune scrolls.

[If she's at all bothered by Buffy's flub, she doesn't show it. It's much more exciting to hear stories about what they'll do when all of this is over.]

I haven't had a girl's day in forever! Not since way back when my Mom would take me out. Can we get ice cream too?

[She sighs and rolls onto her side, eyes already starting to drift closed.]

"Thanks, though. You're a nice kid, y'know?"

Fuuko knows plenty of guys who would be just fine having their wounds taken care of, whether the person is a girl or cute does not matter!

[... Well she knows one guy who she's sure would be fine with that anyway.]

Hah, yes. Fighting. I wouldn't really put much stock in hope. It's a rather poisonous thing.
