[Apparently this is the day for Artemis to have unexpected encounters with strange birds. That's two now. She ducks out of instinct when something huge swoops overhead and one of the cultists to her left bursts into flames, staggering away with an inhuman cry. She doesn't have time to stare - as much as she wants to. Instead, she continues what she'd been doing before, attempting to take down the Shifter controlling the droids, in the midsts of dodging robots and cultists alike.
It was even trickier than it sounded, and Artemis' head ached from a blow she'd taken from one of the droids when she hadn't been fast enough in dodging.
She swipes out with her bow, knocking aside a cultists that had gotten too close. He staggered and dropped and that's when she saw him, the cultitst with his crossbow aimed at the sky - supposedly at whatever had set his companion on fire a few moments before.]
Oh, no you don't.
[Artemis's expression is grimly determined and she looses an arrow before he can even finish aiming, the shaft burying itself in his throat with unerring accuracy.]
