Helios had done all he could to make sure Rei was out long enough from the shrine to setup for what was indeed her birthday. With some help from her friends and close acquaintances Helios had decorated the shrine in some lights and lanterns for the occasion. It was nothing too outrageous because he knew Rei was a more subtle person, so the decorations are few but meaningful.

Birthdays are good for starting fresh, and spring is a time for letting go of the past and starting anew. The lanterns symbolize that but also help with the festivities. Even if its a small affair Helios puts a lot of hard work into it because of how helpful Rei has been these past few weeks. So to help ease out of the terrible feelings since the draft and to celebrate the birthday of a good friend Helios will invite whoever is close to the young woman.


((ooc; For the sake of not hurting my hands trying to juggle both a post and a log I'm just going to handwave Helios putting up the announcement over the journals to help set things up for Rei's party. If you're character is a close acquaintance/friend of Rei's they're more than welcome to stop by!))

Hey. It's a birthday. They're pretty important to most people, and getting to things like this is nice every once in a while.

Especially out here in the Shrine. Nice digs.

I told you you should visit, it's really a peaceful place.

[She dips her head politely]

That was why we built it.

Yea, it is. 'Specially with how messy this place can get. Must be nice to have something like this so close by.

Well, it isn't just for me. I'm here to help out people who need it, too.

Hmm. True. How do you go about with that anyway?

Fortune telling and making charms for protection and luck.

Yep. Definitely handy. [Though it was superstitious, he wasn't going to knock how simply believing in something can work for a person.] You haven't had to do that too often, have you?

[faithfulflame]

Just a bit. Usually before or after a draft.

Yea...that'd make sense. [People always wanted whatever help they could get.].

Say, uhm. Sorry, I actually didn't know what to get you for a present. But, I was thinking we could take another day in the Dome to make up for that. I've got a few programs I've been working on for the fun of it, and they're not all combat sims. It'd be a neat thing, if you're up to it.

That could be interesting. I'd like that, Cliff-san. I can always use practice.

[She nods twice, crisp but cheerful]

I'll need to work a few things around if practice really is what you're lookin' for, [he might even need to program some of those not!trees into the system,] but, just let me know when you're ready. We'll decide then.
