[All The Days of Our Luceti...]

[But... she just couldn't be pregnant!]

[Congress with different species of Silurian was, by tradition, forbidden. And while it was entirely possible for a Silurian and a human to come together (so to speak), no one had ever considered half-human when Vastra was younger. And married to a woman, the thought never crossed her mind. However now...]

[Now Vastra is very clearly 3-Earth-Months/1-Luceti-Month along. With what is presumably either a half-human or half-god child. It's been a month since the draft, and Vastra is starting to realize she can't exactly remember what happened the few days after she ran into the Dream Shifter. It's actually a large blank spot in her memory.]

[Over the weekend, she's trying desperately to remember who the father of her child is. A broadcasted note over the journals isn't necessary just yet, she's trying to keep this as quiet as possible...]

[It's not terribly "quiet" though. Vastra faints in the street almost every other hour. She can be found, usually passed out or on the verge, in the only tea gown she has that still fits. If she isn't passed out, she's draped over a bench clutching a handkerchief and sobbing. Her marriage is destroyed, and she can't remember who she destroyed it with. Life is obviously terrible this weekend.]

pick a day

[Hmm... so what's Vastra's psychosis going to be...

Loki finds her as he's walking around in the village.]

Ah, Lady Vastra. Good day.

I PICK SATURDAY. 8D

[personal profile] eversohungry 2013-04-29 04:48 pm (UTC)(link)
[All the weepy, currently non-violent psychosis.]

[Given Vastra has never actually given much thought to how to conduct oneself while pregnant, she's just been carrying on and walking around all day trying to catch one of the men she'd spent parts of the draft standing behind. Fortunately, one of them has found her.]

[She's currently carrying a very large bag of raw meat and carrots (they looked good in the market....) in front of her, and she looks pretty worse for wear. But she's a little startled and relieved to finally see Loki.]

Where have you been hiding? I've been looking everywhere--literally everywhere. [She sighs, short and upset and shrugs it off.] Nevermind, I must speak to you, in private. I need help.

[Brace yourself, Vastra is asking for help.]

I've been not hiding in my house. You know, that place where people trend to sirens time when they aren't actively bothering others.

Whatever is the matter?
eversohungry: (I'm a lizard woman from the dawn of time)

[personal profile] eversohungry 2013-05-01 01:10 am (UTC)(link)
Well you could have fooled me. It seems that every damned person I've been trying to find has been avoiding me. [Grumble mutter bitch moan.]

[But, whining aside.]
This is... I'm going to attempt to put this as delicately as I can, and I'm certain you will catch my meaning. [Given their past conversations and Vastra's impressions of Loki, she doubts much gets by him unnoticed.]

On the draft. We ah. We crafted a sort of lie to catch our enemy. But that was a ruse, yes? Entirely a ruse?
complicatedliar: (the eyebrow is raised)

oh god all those swype errors I am so sorry

[personal profile] complicatedliar 2013-05-04 09:04 am (UTC)(link)
I can't imagine why. [Not when you're in such a cheerful mood.]

[The eyebrows go up.]

Why Vastra, I'd no idea. But it had better have been a ruse, or I'd be in quite a lot of trouble. I'm a taken man.
eversohungry: (We are married)

B'aw, its okay Katsu. :< I'm happy to see tags in my inbox either way~

[personal profile] eversohungry 2013-05-04 04:03 pm (UTC)(link)
And I'm a taken woman, by another woman, so this-- [She pulls the grocery bag aside to uncover her stomach.] --can't happen.

[Source of cheerful mood revealed. Vastra's going for the handkerchief again, all this talk of 'taken' has upset her again.]

It just can't, not just because of my marriage to another female, but I'm not even certain I can be impregnated by anything other than another Silurian. I don't even know what is inside of me, but it clearly isn't something by my wife, and that...!

[She has to cover her mouth with the handkerchief, which at least ends the hysterical babbling. But she's crying while trying not to cry, which isn't terribly pretty either.]

Can't is a silly word to use in an infinite universe.

[Though he does give her a sideways look.]

Well, it certainly wasn't me. Of course, the automatic scapegoat is the Malnosso. They do like to do hideous things.

[Well, if she's been hit by the shift, might as well mess with her good and proper.] However, another thought occurs to me. There are several doctors within this enclosure. I would not necessarily trust the medical ethics of any of them, if you catch my meaning.
eversohungry: (stringy but tasty all the same)

[personal profile] eversohungry 2013-05-05 11:26 pm (UTC)(link)
My own body is not an infinite universe, Loki. I know what it is typically capable of doing and what it is not. [Vastra bristles, replacing the bag over her torso to hide again. It also had the miraculous effect of stopping her from sniffling more.] And given I know of only one person, aside from the Malnosso, who seems to be able to bend certain limitations, I had to ask. How do I know for certain you can't impregnate just about anything by giving it a funny look?

[That only leaves three more people to find, then. But frankly, she can't imagine Bucky, Jack, or Eugene being the responsible party. That only leaves Loki's suggestion... Which leaves her looking absolutely horrified.]

No... The holes in my memory are purely from the draft, and after returning I was at home the entire time. I never once left...

[Which as we all know, in Doctor Who Land, means absolutely nothing. Even with incomplete information, Vastra is too high-strung and emotional to rationalize this out. She goes from shock and disgust to looking outright livid.]

Who are these doctors? Names and locations, if you please.
complicatedliar: (all according to plan)

[personal profile] complicatedliar 2013-05-06 08:26 pm (UTC)(link)
Lady Vastra, if you think your body isn't an infinite universe, I have some books I could loan you and your wife.

I suppose I could, but why would I want to? No. I've no desire for children of my own.

[Loki nods.] Lady, I know from experience that even here, memory cannot be trusted. I could tell you toe-curling stories.

[He names off the doctors he knows of, Law and Adele (well, hopefully she'll think this is funny) and then Donald, which is what Thor is calling himself.] That last doctor, Donald. I like him not. He seems a bit dodgy, so be careful if you speak to him.
eversohungry: (I dare you)

[personal profile] eversohungry 2013-05-06 09:44 pm (UTC)(link)
[And this should tell you something: Vastra is in no mood for off-color jokes. She makes a dismissive face and rolls her eyes--moving on.]

I don't intend to do much speaking. This is not something one has an entire conversation over. Hold this for me-- [And she unceremoniously dumps the bag in Loki's direction, not really caring if he catches it or not. There is vengeance to be had, after all. ...and she's more concerned with using Loki to steady herself while she reaches for the stiletto sheathed in her boot. Why is it there? Because the writers wanted it to be there. Her pregnancy seems to be slowing her down in terms of bending, though.]

Endless verbiage is simply a conveyance for lies.

[personal profile] complicatedliar 2013-05-06 10:25 pm (UTC)(link)
[Well, that's uncomfortably close to Loki's own methods. Good thing it isn't directed at him. Loki helpfully holds her bag and lets her lean on him with a long-suffering look.]

A laudable method, I think. [He eyes the stiletto appreciatively.]

[THE IRONY.]

Doctors. Lying, shifty bastards. [Vastra finally dislodges the weapon from her shoe and stalks off a few steps, then returns for her bag.] Thank you Loki, I am glad I did not have to be extremely upset with you.
complicatedliar: (Default)

[personal profile] complicatedliar 2013-05-08 04:20 pm (UTC)(link)
I am glad as well. Do let me know if you need a hand with the dastardly doctors, though I think you are quite competent on your own. [He smiles.]

I may be pregnant, Loki. But helpless is something I will never be. [She points at him with the stiletto and turns to go doctor-stalking with her groceries. VENGEANCE!]
