Day One

[Anise blinks as her darling father returns, a girl in tow. She The young boy that looks and sounds exactly like a girl frowns, hands on his hips as he looks at the little pipsqueak.]

Another one, papa?

[His voice is almost a despairing wail. Damn does he hate having to compete for attention all the time.]

Day One- Anise -> Jade -> Ikki?!

[He tuts at Anise. As much as he can admire her ambitions for power in the family, even if it was only for the sake of receiving attention.]

You should have known that this day would come, Anise. You can't be the baby of the family forever, after all. [He nudges Ikki towards Anise with a tap at her shoulder.] This is Ikki.

Day One- Anise -> Jade -> Ikki?!

[ Well that didn't sound too welcoming! ...Still, for some reason Ikki really wanted to see her sister. It's almost like she's been missing a sister in her life for months and months, although of course she didn't realize she had four long lost sisters. Nope, not at all, not until this morning.

So instead of just letting herself be nudged at Anise, Ikki dashes forward to throw a hug at the other girl. ]

I'm so so so so so so happy to meet you!

Aww, but I'll always be yo-- Ooof!

[He staggers backwards at the sudden weight of the vulture-kid on him, an expression of comical shock on his face. It takes him a second to react, awkwardly ruffling Ikki's hair.]

It's great to meet you too, Ikki! [Her voice and smile are both very obviously shrill and fake. But hey, soap operas life would be so boring without conflict of any kind at all!] I'm Anise.

[Jade adjusts his glasses with a smirk.]

I'm sure you two will get along well.

[ Ikki doesn't seem to notice. She just keeps clinging.

...At least for a bit, before she lets go. ] Oh!

And this is Soren, my brother! [ Not true, kid. But Soren doesn't object to this so much as he did the vulture thing, so yeah, what up Anise, have a head nod from the bird pokemon trailing after Ikki. ]

Of course we will, papa. [Said with over-exaggerated poisonous sweetness that would probably go unnoticed by Ikki anyway.]

[He casually dusts himself off as Ikki finally lets go, squinting at the bird-thing Ikki bought with her.]

Soren should be careful around here. We've got a dog!
