[That voice. Oh! Saori actually squeaks and jumps slightly when she hears him. Loki. Oh...oh dear. Not him. There weren't many people in Luceti she thought were bullies and of the unkind, unpleasant variety...but Loki was certainly one of them. She shook herself and turned to face him, fists clenched at her sides fiercely.

No, she wouldn't show weakness. Not to a bully. That would only make him stronger, she knew. No. She'd be brave.

Even if she didn't feel particularly brave today.]

I do. But there's quite a lot of it, isn't there?

[No quaver this time, but she still can't look directly at him.]

[Something's definitely not right here. The jumping and the squeaking is really the first clue. Ah, she must be affected by the shift. Well, that could be funny.

Interesting posture, though. Loki's eyebrows go up as he takes in the clenched fists. His voice is mild and slightly amused when he speaks.]

I'd agree. But that's really your business, isn't it? Or had you forgotten?

No, I haven't forgotten. I...just don't know how to make it stop.

[She can admit that much, though it's rather not funny to her. She knows she should be able to, but with all these feelings of being so weak and useless, Saori just can't remember what to do.]

I know the Malnosso are doing something, I just can't figure out what's going on. It's so...strange.

[Mostly, she's just hoping he'll go away without incident. Like any good J-Drama, the shy character standing her ground a bit should drive away anything bad. Only...the scripts seem to be muddled...or someone missed the memo, Loki.]

We've never really discussed how your magics work, so I couldn't give you more than an educated guess. [If he felt like it. But now this is kind of funny.]

I hadn't really noticed anything that amiss. [Ha, as if. He tilts his head, considering.] Thus far, I've noticed the impression they'd gotten quite a number of the ladies... and other people... around here pregnant. One would hope they haven't done that to you.

[She quickly shakes her head, face turning absolutely crimson. That much she'd know.]

N-no, I'm not pregnant. I can't be, unless the Malnosso did something.

[Though...oh dear they could have. She stifles the urge to scamper off to the clinic right then and there. Grimacing, she manages to look at him.]

It's not in the nature of...of this body to be able to do so.

One never knows, with the Malnosso. [He fixes this image in his mind. Her blush is very amusing.]

It isn't in the nature of mine to do this either... [He holds up his hands, displaying his palms. He's used a bit of manipulation of his inner temperature to make the skin go blue and show faint whorls. He hates the feeling of it, but he'll deal with discomfort in the service of a trick.] I think they're trying to make it so we can't trust even ourselves any more.

[Her eyes open in bewilderment as she sees the blue tint to his skin. That was certainly strange, and definitely unnatural. Of course she has no real idea that Loki is a Frost Giant, so she just looks a little queasy.]

I should go to the clinic...then. Just...just to be safe.

[complicatedliar]

[Loki nods.]

Better to be safe than sorry, most assuredly. Do you require an escort?

[She shakes her head]

N-no, it's alright. I can manage.

[complicatedliar]

All right. Take care, then.

[He'll just follow her invisibly to see if something amusing happens.]

[She makes her way to the clinic, mumbling a little to herself about the possibility of being pregnant, but nothing of note happens. She does stay wet though, and Loki may very well be caught up in the Malnosso-Dramatic-Storm]
