Night 3!

[wise_maiden]

[As it's night time, and the shop has turned toward it's darker purposes, the witch is calmly collecting a few clippings from some of the more unique plants in the shop when the sound of a customer catches her attention.

The figure keeps herself cloaked, but... is that Grune? Familiarity sets in; usually, the other woman helped take care of the shop, but she had gone mysteriously missing when the other witches had invited themselves in to turn it to an apothecary ...

Still, she couldn't risk giving away her identity.]

... Good evening. Have you come to us for help?

[lostinmyway]

[Grune may be acting strangely this week, even for her, but despite everything she's retained at least some of her unflappability. So while she takes in a slight breath at the sight of the robed figure...her reaction isn't all that dramatic.]

Yes, that's right. [She sighs.] I've lost my memory and no matter what the doctors try, it just won't come back. Is there anything you can do to help me?

[wise_maiden]

I admit that is an unusual request, but I can see if we have any potions that could help.

[Because she does want to help Grune, as long as the other woman remembering doesn't cause any problems for the shop and Raine's identity.]

Although I must warn you, they do come with side effects. Various side effects. They aren't long lasting or life threatening, so once it wears off you'll be perfectly fine.

It's all right if there are side effects. [She clasps her hands together.] I'd do anything to get my memory back.

[Well, no, she wouldn't, but that's the sort of thing you're supposed to say in these situations, right?]

[wise_maiden]

Then we'll do all in our power to help you.

[lostinmyway]

Oh, thank you so much! That's so kind of you!

[...We?]

[wise_maiden]

You're welcome. I'll just be a few moments - if there isn't something prepared, I may have to start from scratch.

[Referring to the other witches, of course - though trying one of their potions might inadvertently get one turned into a newt.

Better to let Raine handle it from scratch. Unless her potion-brewing is like her cooking, which might have interesting results anyway ...]

That's all right. You don't need to rush at all. [She's waited this long--what's a little more time now, when she's so close?]

Oh, can I help?

[Oh god, no.]

[wise_maiden]

... Why don't you try looking at some of the flowers? It might help you relax.

[lostinmyway]

[Luckily, she's going to accept this as an equally valid suggestion.]

All right. That sounds like a nice idea.

[And she wanders away.]

[wise_maiden]

[Raine will watch after her for a few moments before disappearing into a side room - a room that hadn't been used for much more than storage before, but now held most of the apothecary's secrets.

There are a few potions already made, and one which would take a full day to brew. But Grune was willing to try anything, wasn't she? She pours the solutions into smaller vials, and then steps back into the main shop area to look for her even more amnesiac than usual friend.]

[Grune actually hasn't drifted all that far for once. At the moment, she's preoccupied with examining the leaves of an ivy plant. She...seems to have completely forgotten that there's someone else in the shop with her, however.]

[wise_maiden]

... Grune?

[She wouldn't be surprised if the woman had forgotten her reason for coming to the shop in the first place...]

[Believe it or not, soap opera amnesia has actually made her memory better. When she looks up, her expression is hopeful.]

Oh, is it ready?

[wise_maiden]

Indeed. I have a few options for you to try. You're welcome to bring them home with you, unless you want to try one out here. Again, I can't guarantee that they'll have the results you desire, but at the very least... there is one more that will take a day to make as well.

Really? What does that one do?

[She doesn't want to wait any longer than absolutely necessary to recover from her amnesia, but--well, at this point, she'll try anything.]

[wise_maiden]

... it's to help with your memory, Grune.

[Not that she expects much, given how Grune's normal memory worked. The woman didn't even seem to realize that she hadn't needed to introduce herself to the witch.]

[lostinmyway]

...Oh, yes, that's right.

[She had really meant to ask why it was different from the others, but her mun she hadn't expressed herself well and now she's all turned around.

And it's about now that she remembers something important:] Thank you very much for helping me.

[wise_maiden]

You're welcome. I hope it helps.

[And that she doesn't turn into a toad, or something like that.]
