WHO: Any and all friends of Masaomi/anyone who happens to be on the beach! Invitations would’ve gone out via a (handwaved) secret entry or word of mouth.
WHAT: Masaomi’s birthday party, planned by Shikamaru-Gold-Ikki.
WHEN: Wednesday, June 19th.
WHERE: The beach!
SUMMARY: BEACH BIRTHDAY BASH. It’s pretty simple.
RATING: B FOR BIRTHDAY.

So after being reminded about Masaomi’s birthday, Gold came up with a much better idea than Shikamaru’s (lame) sit-down dinner! Therefore welcome to an all-dayish surprise beach birthday party! There are tables for presents and food, there is music (chosen by the boys, not by Ikki), and there is a sand castle city, complete with sandscrapers, which is what Gold put Ikki in charge of. The sand castle city has gotten a little out of hand because of this.

So stop by, wish Masaomi a happy birthday, and HAVE FUN. While there are three topic threads, FEEL FREE AND ENCOURAGED to just throw up your character at the party below that/anywhere, as per always.

True, true. But aside from the corpses of all those poor lizards and the ruins, we've got algae and fish and starfish in it. I guess in that sense, it always seemed "real" to me - so much so that the desert almost feels like the "dream."

[A bit philosophical. Maybe. More than a little, actually]

[She briefly makes a face at the mention of the lizards -- she'd never really thought about that and it's not exactly a pleasant one.]

I guess I never did see the desert before that myself. But...well, it's pretty much like an ocean, but it's not quite right...I think. Or maybe it's just a little different from what it was like near my village.

Well it does have a more definite end, it's just so far out I don't think about it.

It'd certainly take a long time to reach it. But that's still small for a sea...so maybe that's what makes it a little weird. [She shakes her head.] Or maybe I'm imagining it.

Or it could be it's normal and you're weird.

[He said blithely, a smirk on his face]

[She rolls her eyes.]

You sure know how to talk to the ladies. [But then she grins a little.] I'll let you get away with that since it's your birthday.

Heh, so should I rather be saying that there is no one I would rather have a private night swim with than the beautiful blonde by my side?

[Alliteration!! He says all this without missing a beat, though his tone isn't as sincere as it could be. The smirk probably doesn't help]

[She puts a hand over her mouth as she tries to suppress a laugh at that.]

Well, it might be better than calling me weird, at least.

Now if only your outfit allowed for me to add "buxom," eh?

[TOO FAR, as usual]

[Yeah, her grin is no longer there.]

I'll have you know that I am plenty -- [Wait, that's really not the point. Also "plenty" may be a bit of an exaggeration. But, again, not the point.] "Weird" was better.

It's okay, Fen-chan! I know you're plenty as impressive as any woman! More, even, because it's a secret I can only guess at!

[And he cackles here, an honest laugh as he taps her lightly on the back to reassure]

Well, it seems that it'll be fine to leave it to your imagination. It looks like you have no problem using your imagination for that kind of thing.

[Hmph.]

Wha---t!? There was an option for that to be real?!

[And he recoils now, flailing and grabbing the sides of his head with a pained expression]

[She doesn't answer right away, since she didn't mean to imply as much, but then she smirks. No need to let him know that, right?]

It's certainly not an option now. Sorry if you were counting on it.

Oh noooo, I ruined the birthday present!

[And now he straight up collapses onto the ground, rolling from side to side. Rolling]

[Masaomi, how can you be so ridiculous? She can't entirely muffle her laughter at that.]

I'm afraid you'll have to make do with the basket I brought as a back-up. [She gestures towards the present table, where the basket she'd brought sits.] But it's a valuable lesson for the next time you're looking for a present like that.

[He stops his rolling, sits up...! and he would leap to his feet, but, well, sand. The traction isn't good enough. She smiles and-]

So noted, Fen-chan.

[Oh he should smooth down his shirt, his abs and his nasty scar on his left side was exposed. Wouldn't want her to swoon]

[Her eyes widen momentarily when she does catch sight of the scar, but given that she has scars of her own and wouldn't want anyone to comment on hers, she chooses not to comment on it. It does knock her off her stride, though, so it takes her a second longer than it might have to continue:]

Good. Although I wonder if you'll remember that for long, or if your head will be too full of "pretty girls in swimsuits" to leave any room for advice.

Well it is true. Not to make you or my partner jealous, but this is a key thing in my mind now...

[Chuckling, as he makes his way back to his feet the long way with planting a foot and then getting up from that,]

[He certainly is honest. ...Wait.]

Your "partner"? Did you manage to con someone into being your girlfriend with all your pretty words?

["Con" is quite a bit harsher than she actually feels about him. Despite the buxom commentary, she doesn't think he's a bad guy and she suspects he wouldn't be a bad boyfriend for someone who is willing to put up with the way he acts. But she does figure he can take a little harsh language.]

Not quite. I think she likes tougher guys than me. [And he whistles now, and from behind Fenimore (not right behind her, just nebulously behind her) Linda the Pikachu races to his heel to stand there and wonder what she's being called for]

[Well, that certainly wasn't what she was expecting! After a moment, she crouches down to get a closer look, though she does keep her distance a bit -- she has no idea how friendly she is.]

Oh! I didn't know you had a pet. Or -- a Pokey-mons? [She can't really tell the difference between a Pokémon and a regular monster, but "partner" sounds a bit like what Ikki was saying about Pokémon earlier.]

Yep, Pokemon. I'm surprised you hadn't seen her! [Not that he formally introduced the two, but it's been over a year. And he motions to Linda and-] Linda, this is Fen-chan, and Fen-chan, this is her.

[Linda, for her part, looks smug, but waves a little to show she is listening and greeting Fenimore. Not that she's too interested in meeting random girls, but whatever]

[Oh, the waving is really cute. Fenimore waves back.]

Hello, Linda. [She looks back up to Masaomi.] Well, I haven't really paid too much attention to the Po-ke-mons [much closer pronounciation, but a lot slower] after I learned that they don't attack people. But I mustn't have seen the two of you together, at least.

I guess she is in her ball pretty often when I'm out and about on the town. Not that she isn't still aware during that, she's just taking a little rest.

[With a bit of a shrug, and Linda nods, in agreement. Not that she doesn't like being out, but when it's all the unimportant flirting, why not rest]
