WHO: Any and all friends of Masaomi/anyone who happens to be on the beach! Invitations would’ve gone out via a (handwaved) secret entry or word of mouth.
WHAT: Masaomi’s birthday party, planned by Shikamaru-Gold-Ikki.
WHEN: Wednesday, June 19th.
WHERE: The beach!
SUMMARY: BEACH BIRTHDAY BASH. It’s pretty simple.
RATING: B FOR BIRTHDAY.

So after being reminded about Masaomi’s birthday, Gold came up with a much better idea than Shikamaru’s (lame) sit-down dinner! Therefore welcome to an all-dayish surprise beach birthday party! There are tables for presents and food, there is music (chosen by the boys, not by Ikki), and there is a sand castle city, complete with sandscrapers, which is what Gold put Ikki in charge of. The sand castle city has gotten a little out of hand because of this.

So stop by, wish Masaomi a happy birthday, and HAVE FUN. While there are three topic threads, FEEL FREE AND ENCOURAGED to just throw up your character at the party below that/anywhere, as per always.

Hey, that's not a bad trait to have at any age. Still, when you say cunning do you mean mischievous?

Yeah, I guess air really is free. The earth and water are both pretty grounded, but the wind and the sky... They're everywhere and anywhere all at once, free to drift wherever.

I'm not sure I remember the philosophy word for word, but their world's got four elements - Earth's solid, Air's free, Water changes, and Fire... I don't know what fire does, actually.

[He looks up at the sky as he says this, trying to think back to his ghosting memories of the Prince of Omashu, as well as everything he'd learned on his own]

Fire... burns? It seems like it'd be the most destructive element, unless you only use it for heat and light.

[That's how it is with Firaga, too. It's strictly an offensive spell with no inherent defensive properties. Nothing like the water they stand in...

In fact, Riku dips one of his hands into the water and pulls it out, watching it flow out of his grasp.]

[Okay that he just snorts at] Poor Zuko-kun.

He have a bad history with flames?

[Riku vaguely recalls talking to him before, but it's been so long.]

Hell if I know, but he's a firebender, and I like to think if he can take offense to anything he can take offense to that being his only quality.

[And at this, with a laugh, he flops back onto his back in the water, to float]

Well, I don't think someone's power necessarily defines them as a person. It's never that cut and dry.

[He shrugs before flopping down himself, albeit on his belly.]

Barely heard that.

[His ears are under water, after all]

[...Ah, right. Silly him. Rolling his eyes, Riku raises his voice a little.]

I said that power's not what makes the person.

You know, eight months ago I'd say that's something only the powerful could say!

So why the change of heart?

[Unless Masaomi counts himself among the powerful. That's always a possibility, too.]
