WHO: Any and all friends of Masaomi/anyone who happens to be on the beach! Invitations would’ve gone out via a (handwaved) secret entry or word of mouth.
WHAT: Masaomi’s birthday party, planned by Shikamaru-Gold-Ikki.
WHEN: Wednesday, June 19th.
WHERE: The beach!
SUMMARY: BEACH BIRTHDAY BASH. It’s pretty simple.
RATING: B FOR BIRTHDAY.

So after being reminded about Masaomi’s birthday, Gold came up with a much better idea than Shikamaru’s (lame) sit-down dinner! Therefore welcome to an all-dayish surprise beach birthday party! There are tables for presents and food, there is music (chosen by the boys, not by Ikki), and there is a sand castle city, complete with sandscrapers, which is what Gold put Ikki in charge of. The sand castle city has gotten a little out of hand because of this.

So stop by, wish Masaomi a happy birthday, and HAVE FUN. While there are three topic threads, FEEL FREE AND ENCOURAGED to just throw up your character at the party below that/anywhere, as per always.

[ Naga barks. She knows you're talking about her, bro. ]

She does. I don't think she'd be too thrilled with a haircut, though. How's the birthday so far?

Oh it's plenty solid- [He leaped a half step back at Naga's bark-] as long as there'll be no dogs getting heat stroke here.

Don't worry, she knows how to keep herself cool. She's a pretty good swimmer, you know?

[ So is Korra, too, for that matter. ]

That goes without saying. [ She grins. ]

Well then, Korra-chan! Unless you have some other gift for me, I'm going to hereby demand we have a bout of swimming together! Wet and ready and making it out to the ocean!

[With no small amount of dramatic hand motions]

[ Well, he had her there - she didn't have another gift. It was kind of short notice, but - anyway, if this meant he wouldn't give her a guilt trip, she was in. ]

You sound pretty eager get stuck in my wake.

Korra-chan, I'd be behind you any day, don't worry! I'm not even offended.

[ A cheeky grin as she starts for the water. ]

Well, as long as you know. I guess I can indulge the birthday boy.

[Man he doesn't know if hes glad, disappointed, or just amused she missed that innuendo. No matter what the case is though, he follows her right into the water, stretching a little unnecessarily as he goes]

[ Competition always wins in Korra's mind. She breaks against the waves, diving in headfirst before she looks back to see if he's following. ]

[He dives in after her, hoping that Naga and Linda both don't decide to follow because that would just be crowded and dangerous. He gets in to try to get next to or at least immediately behind her.]

[ She doesn't bother cheating with her bending - yet - but she keeps up a quick stroke. ]

Not sinking yet, huh?

I did grow up swimming now and again, after all! [Not exactly religiously or anything but you know, pools. Plus in Japan you're never that far from a coastline. He comments this, over the surf and their own splashes made from the swim]

[ She treads water, eyebrows lifting. ]

Did you grow up by the water?

Japan's an island nation - at most, you're only ever a few hours from a shoreline.

[Which isn't the hard and fast truth, - or well, it is, but it's not way he swam a lot. He just liked to see girls being cute at the pool and the beach]

Sounds like my kind of place. [ She bends a small wave in between her hands. ] Republic City was on the shore, too. I even stayed on an island just across the harbor there.

Oh, I know the one! OR at least, from Ikki's model, I've got an idea.

[Treading water isn't easy as you'd think but... oh well]

Yeah, that's the one. Air Temple Island. I live there with her family.

Must be crowded. [Not that he didn't know this information, somehow or another. He can't recall if it was Ikki or the old Korra now]

Only because Tenzin is always hounding me about airbending training.

[ She flicks the water. ]

Hey, he's old and wise, isn't he? Older than you'd expect, with a daughter like Ikki, if memory serves! It's practically his job to hassle you, Korra-chan. [And he swims ahead a little, so he might subtly get in front of her. For their racing]

[ Oh, she notices that, and she starts swimming again to try and edge ahead of him. ]

I'm guessing you met him when he was here?

More "glimpsed" and "heard about" - he wasn't here long.

[Oh boo, and he was even doggy paddling subtly]

[ Korra's mind is never far from the competition. ]

Must've been weird for Aang. [ She glances awkwardly toward the shore. ] Anyway, you've got Tenzin pretty well pegged. He was an excellent hassler.
