WHO: Any and all friends of Masaomi/anyone who happens to be on the beach! Invitations would’ve gone out via a (handwaved) secret entry or word of mouth.
WHAT: Masaomi’s birthday party, planned by Shikamaru-Gold-Ikki.
WHEN: Wednesday, June 19th.
WHERE: The beach!
SUMMARY: BEACH BIRTHDAY BASH. It’s pretty simple.
RATING: B FOR BIRTHDAY.

So after being reminded about Masaomi’s birthday, Gold came up with a much better idea than Shikamaru’s (lame) sit-down dinner! Therefore welcome to an all-dayish surprise beach birthday party! There are tables for presents and food, there is music (chosen by the boys, not by Ikki), and there is a sand castle city, complete with sandscrapers, which is what Gold put Ikki in charge of. The sand castle city has gotten a little out of hand because of this.

So stop by, wish Masaomi a happy birthday, and HAVE FUN. While there are three topic threads, FEEL FREE AND ENCOURAGED to just throw up your character at the party below that/anywhere, as per always.

Just don't touch the ports on her cheeks, tempting as that might be.

[Which Linda agrees with. She smiles in spite of herself and adopts a more curled up pose as best she can balance on Masaomi's shoulder, keeping a even eye on Hinata. Masaomi also crouches some to make it easier on the both of them]

[She carefully lifts her hand and scratches the rodent behind her pointy, yellow ears, a faint smile on her lips and a blush on her cheeks. The Pikachu is soft and very cuddly seeming. While she is petting the creature, she has forgotten all out the boy who confuses her so much by flirting with her when it's obvious he doesn't mean it, about the water, about everything but her hand caressing the Pikachu's soft fur.]

[Hah. Linda, for her part, makes a few noises somewhere between pleased and exasperated (mostly pleased) at being petted, and shifts her position to get better and harder to scratch spots. Masaomi just grins, not wanting to interrupt her, but amused at how he's closed into a closer distance to both her face and her swimsuit'd chest from this position without her showing too much awareness of it. Haha]

[Hinata wasn't so absorbed by the Pikachu that when it moved she wasn't startled. When she jumps, she accidentally elbows Masaomi in the nose.

Her eyes get large and she covers her mouth with her hand.]

Oh, I-I am so sorry, Kida-kun! P-please forgive me!

Ow-! Oh, that smarted. [And he feels his nose to see- broken, not broken? Linda, for her part, briefly looks alarmed, but on seeing Masaomi isn't actually injured - he's not got a broken nose, at least - she starts laughing at him, rolling off of his shoulder entirely, landing on her feet. Masaomi, for his part, starts to snicker as this goes on, in spite of himself]

[Hinata stares at the two in horror before she can feel the corners of her mouth tip up into a tiny smile.]

I am sorry, Kida-kun.

Hey, hey, it's not problem. If that's unintentional, I can't even blame you. If it's intentional, then I'm going to have to say "good shot."

[A beat, and] But, if I can use it to extort swimming out of you, I'm open to it.

I-It was not intentional. [When he mentions trying to extort her into swimming with him, she can't help but blush once more. She does feel sorry for it but she's not sure about doing this. However, she feels that she owes him now.] I-I...okay.

-Seriously?

[Surprised, for just a moment, Masaomi pauses. Distinctly.]

[But he recovers just as fast, hopping back towards the ocean - he means to do a flashy double skip back to ankle deep but- Fails. Again, sand's lack of traction words against him, and he falls ass first into the ankle deep water.

And his Pikachu bursts out laughing again]

[She waits and then just stares at him for a second before she begins giggling with her mouth covered.]

I meant to do that.

[He didn't. He so, so didn't - and he's a bit embarrassed for it, honestly. But it also got his shirt wet, so he pulls off his T-shirt, rolls it up into a ball, and tosses it back to the short basketball stile to land next to Linda. This exposes his muscles, re-affirms his florescent pink wings, and perhaps most notably exposes two distinct scars - one on his left shoulder (warhammer) and one on his left side (a spear nearly killing him). There's others, but those two stand out the most]

[Hinata cannot help but notice the bright wings and the many scars covering his upper body. They're a little surprising, considering a few of them look to be rather life-threatening. She's curious about the stories behind them because most scars have reasons, but she doesn't want to be impolite and overstep her boundaries.]

Would you like a hand to stand up, Kida-kun?

[Dun dun dun.]

Sure, I'd love one.

[Heeeeeeh]

[Carefully, she steps over to him and offers a hand, ready to pull him up after he took her hand.]

[Aaaaaand- he does take the hand - but then he yanks on it with the attempt to over-balance her and pull her to flop into the ankle-deep water next to him]

[And it might have worked too, if she hadn't had a little bit of chakra on her feet to keep her very firmly situated on the sand.

With an annoyed glare, she drops his hand.]

That is very ungentlemanly of you, Kida-kun.

And that was very clever of you, Hinata-chan.

[With an evenly matched expression. She was still rooted so - chakra, of course. Man, doing that on sand. He's sure it's second nature to the ninja woman , but he can't help but be impressed]

[It really is second nature to her, what with having both Kiba and Shino as teammates and Naruto as a friend. Besides, her control is second to no one, and doing this takes no effort for her.]

I do not see what you have to be annoyed about, considering it was your own fault that you fell in the water in the first place.

[And his expression immediately relaxes into an easy smile, waving a dismissive hand as he makes to get to his feet. Linda, who has been watching this with some amusement, scampers out to meet him in the water]

Got me there!

Happy birthday then. [She gives him a tiny bow and turns on her heels, ready to disappear back to her apartment so she could put on appropriate clothing.]

[You know he would push that she agreed to swim with him not three seconds ago, but- no, he just waves her off]

Thank you for coming, Hinata-chan! You looked splendid!

[Her face is flushed as she walks carefully back to the apartment building. She doesn't want anyone to see her so angry and embarrassed and not covered properly. Why did Kida-kun have to tease her so badly when it was obvious that he didn't really like her that way? What was the point of it?]
