Summary: Between the last Shift and the heart shard mess, the Titans decide that a break is in order. (If anyone asks, it's a team-building exercise.)
Rating: PG! Probably.

Summer's almost over and some people haven't been to the beach even once yet! It's practically a crime. But fortunately, it's not too late to fix that, and after relatively recent events, now definitely wasn't a bad time for the Titans to take a trip to the beach. Most of them could use the break, some are just looking for a chance to have fun, and others... might just need a little sunlight. Just maybe.

Either way, today's a great day to spend at the beach. The sun shines bright, and sure, there's not much of a breeze, but the water is nice and cool—absolutely perfect for swimming. Hopefully, everyone brought swimsuits and towels because no one's leaving here without going in the water. Oh, and don't forget sunscreen. Definitely don't forget sunscreen. Have some snacks, play some games, bury each other in the sand— whatever it is you decide to do, though, just make sure you have fun!

[It's been ages since the last time Jason went swimming, so he kind of wants to spend as much time in the water as possible. That means he'll be there whenever Artemis decides to get in, too. He's so very innocent as he calls out to her:]

Hey, Artemis!

[And he's maybe not-so-innocent as he casually splashes water toward her. He's not cruel, he doesn't try to drench her! But you know. Friendly splashing is a thing.]

[It's a thing that gets you splashed in return, Jason. That not-so-innocent look isn't getting you any leeway as Artemis laughs and returns the favor. Maybe with a hint more water, just because he started it.]

Hey, Jason! Gotta hand it to you, this was a brilliant idea.

[He is totally okay with that. His arms go up to cover his face and he lets out a laugh.]

It was nothing. I wouldn't have thought of it if it weren't for you.

We're obviously geniuses. [She grins and swims closer before falling back to float on her back, since they were out past the worst of the waves.] This is pretty much perfect.

Well, I sure can't deny that. [He grins mischievously, as always.] But I'm glad you're having fun, Artemis. It really is nice. We should do the beach thing more often.

We should. Heck, we're having pretty good luck with these 'team bonding' things. We should make it a regular thing.

You think so? I know I wouldn't mind.

[It makes him genuinely happy to hear that. The whole point had been to unwind, after all, and to know that she was really having a good time meant that this whole thing had actually served its purpose. It's kind of a big deal, not because it was partly his idea, but because... well, she's his friend, and there was nothing he wouldn't do to help a friend out.]

We should probably try to do some actual work next time, though.

[She flashes him a grin and playfully sends a splash of water in his direction again.] Of course I do. This is awesome. And yeah, we could do that. Robin might start to catch on otherwise. [She snickers at that, glancing to where he's off talking to Zatanna at the moment.] Not that he needed as much bribing as I thought to drag him here today.

[This time, he's not fast enough to block the splash with his arms, so despite turning away, he still gets a faceful of water. He just shakes his head.]

Yeah, we can't let him catch on to our schemes. [Though it seems pretty silly to him. He's sure the Titans messed around all the time!] But you're right, there was no work involved this time. But who could blame him? Our friends are pretty cute.

[Artemis can't help but laugh at that, glancing over at him with an amused grin.] Are you eyeing up our friends, Jason?

Oh, I'm not eyeing anyone up. I'm just tellin' it like it is. Good luck getting him to admit that much, though.

Out loud anyway. [She snickers, glancing over at Robin.] But he's definitely not as subtle about it as he thinks he is.

He tries way too hard. I guess he's still not over his "awkward teenager" phase. [He can't help but grin, clearly having too much fun with this.] It's almost cute.
