Luceti Valley - The First Log

Summary: Luceti has become an idyllic and peaceful 50s-esque village. The first few days are just business as usual, right?

August 1st had seemed like an ordinary day in Luceti. But late in the evening, for those night owls who had not turned in yet, they were witness to strange fluctuations in the barrier. Beautiful, really, almost like Luceti had received its own 'Northern Lights', even though it seemed to come from the far east, across the ocean. This ominous light show lasted for all of fifteen minutes before it ceased all together. Skimming the ocean waters, a horde of cultists entered Luceti, cloaked by darkness. Upon reaching the entrance to the tunnels, their leader stepped inside and was followed one by one by his fellow cultists. When the last had entered, the tunnel entrance closed. Across the mountains, the entrance to the tunnels in the village did the same.

Midnight passed without incident, but by three in the morning, the change suddenly came. Minds were altered, forms were changed, and buildings sprang from nowhere.

Much later, on August 2nd, morning settled on a changed village, the new mayor made his way to his mansion with his pair of adorable dobermans at either side of him. The sun shined bright. It was a good day to be a Lucetian.

Note: There will be a stand alone log for the homecoming dance. There will be another log for the second stage of the event.

[Clove has to dart to return the hit, grinning as she does so. She's always had a bit of tomboy in her, and this lets her get it out while still remaining respectable.

Which makes it all the more fun.]

[His eyes are narrowed, a challenge in them. He isn't going to roll over and submit to this fantasy. He doesn't know who this woman is -- she could be one of them or like DeWitt.]

Good. [Pepper nodded, more than glad to hear it. No Tony hadn't been a perfect father, especially when it came to Shikamaru--but he's trying now.]

You said you were looking for the restroom. [Pepper motions toward a door a short ways down the hall.] It's right over there.

[Arya folds her arms, stubborn as ever.]

If you're going to be a housewife. But that's not me.

She'll have to live with the shame. Of course, the marriage makes it a bit better, but... Everyone will always know.

... Is it really necessary? [It's a real question, it was the day before the dance and he can't even think of anyone he would want to go with.]

I'm going to keep working on the family farm. I don't have to know how to sew straight to till a field.

[Which is a very good thing because her stitches are always horribly crooked.]

Day 3

[He hunches up, because she looks Sad and he hates it when she looks sad. It had been terrible when mummy had died and mother had gone into deep mourning and seeing it back again... he felt like the worst person in the world.]

No! No, you've always done right by me. By both of us. I- I never meant to hurt you I just... I wanted to get everything arranged and have a real plan. I wanted to have an adventure with it, like you and mum did. And maybe cause a bit of a scandal while I was at it, something to keep people talking.

...maybe it'll make stuff easier for Eugene.

So you'll buy all your clothes? [Her smile remains, very quiet, very gentle.] Rather than repair them?

That seems an awful expense.

How about if there are millions of millions of worlds? Each one similar but different. Constants and variables. That choices are different and -- sometimes -- people are different.

They used to call my theories crazy, you know. When I was in England, especially.

I can patch things just fine. [It just isn't pretty. But she doesn't care if she's wearing Frakenpants.] Just because I don't make dresses all the time doesn't mean I'd be throwing out old clothes.

You don't have to make dresses all the time, Miss Skywalker. The same skills in sewing that I teach? Can mend farm clothes and keep them very durable.

No. I'm talking about the people who do the weird experiments on everyone and send people on drafts.

[It almost seemed to be pointless to explain this kind of stuff, but, someone had to do it.]

It's okay, it's otakon weekend so I'll be delayed myself!

[She will. She calms right down, staring calmly at him. She's not worried so long as she has an escape route.]

[Many things about this woman change from this world to the real one. But one thing does remain. She is a genius, and a scientist before a doctor.

So instead of telling him he is that, she writes it down. If anything it will give insight into his mind and his story is better then most so far.]

They call most theories crazy before they are proven true.

[Oh boy! Ammy gobbles it down ravenously, acting like she hasn't eaten in days. When it's gone (within seconds), she looks him in the face and begs more, whining lowly.]
