Luceti Valley - The Second Log

Luceti Valley continued in its own merry little way. The rich got richer, the poor got poorer. A new tax hike had ensured increasing animosity between both groups, despite the protests of the every charitable Lord Mayor. But on the sixth day, something happens and people begin to notice things are unusual. Idle thoughts that if thought about too much is bound to get you a visit to the police station for an hour or so. Or worse, it may just get you committed.

Meanwhile, the asylum continues to gain more and more patients. Those that are trapped there will find escaping difficult, but there may be more to this place than they first assumed...

On the tenth, battle breaks out across Luceti Valley. People begin to exhibit powers and abilities they didn't know they had. The police begin rounding up these people to lock up. If they resist, its bound to come to blows. Even though no one has regained their memories of their true self yet, it becomes apparent that some trickery is afoot, even if they might not know the source or why.


Note: This is the second log! There will be a third and final event log for the aftermath. There will also be two separate logs specifically for finding John and defeating Zompano. For those of you that signed up, we'll be randomizing the results and replying to the selected characters later tonight. In the meantime, keep enjoying the event! When we know, we'll find each other and move forward from there. So far, you're the best equipped person with things going on in this mess.

[Although he didn't understand what Nagato meant by him being the best equipped for this task.]

[Mostly your willingness to put yourself forward. Most others he's spoken to have been far more reluctant. So far.]

Thank you. Even if it's due to your own experience, it's a relief to not be met with disbelief. Not that I've mentioned this to many, of course.

He couldn't finish the sentence. Not yet, but soon. Somehow, he knew that.]

Honestly, I'm not sure what to believe. But, there isn't much choice but to trust what people to believe is true at this point, especially when there are so many who seem to feel the same.

Do you know how many people I've counted that were taken by the police today? There's clearly something happening in this town. I plan to find out what.

Let me know what you find. I've been getting a feel for exactly how many angles there are to get to where everyone's been taken. More than one got dumped into the asylum instead of jail, did you know that? Interesting that they apparently aren't deemed safe to return to the general populace.

[And all the more reason he'd been skulking around in a very un-professor-like way.]

I haven't been paying much attention to the asylum...

[His focus had been elsewhere, on details that were more important to him. It was why he was hanging out on rooftops in a very un-grad student kind of way.]

I wanted to be sure of the locations in case they targeted any family. We don't exactly have a small number of people that have that qualifier, if you count everyone attached to Kushina and myself. Or you.

[He nodded once, clearly satisfied with that. He was closer to some than others, it felt, and not the ones he thought he should be for a reason he couldn't pin down.]

[Protection was on his mind as well, but in a roundabout way. He wouldn't be able to protect anyone if he was blind to the situation.

It was unacceptable.]

[Something about his tone drew his attention, and he studied them.]

I suspect we're not using the same methods, are we? Between the two of us then... everyone should be safe, right?

You work through your channels and I'll work through mine. There's bound to be a place where we meet in the middle.

I do hope we find the other has taken a venue of equal value.

[He tilted his head, watching him, then finally gave a crisp nod.]
