Luceti Valley - The Second Log

Luceti Valley continued in its own merry little way. The rich got richer, the poor got poorer. A new tax hike had ensured increasing animosity between both groups, despite the protests of the every charitable Lord Mayor. But on the sixth day, something happens and people begin to notice things are unusual. Idle thoughts that if thought about too much is bound to get you a visit to the police station for an hour or so. Or worse, it may just get you committed.

Meanwhile, the asylum continues to gain more and more patients. Those that are trapped there will find escaping difficult, but there may be more to this place than they first assumed...

On the tenth, battle breaks out across Luceti Valley. People begin to exhibit powers and abilities they didn't know they had. The police begin rounding up these people to lock up. If they resist, its bound to come to blows. Even though no one has regained their memories of their true self yet, it becomes apparent that some trickery is afoot, even if they might not know the source or why.


Note: This is the second log! There will be a third and final event log for the aftermath. There will also be two separate logs specifically for finding John and defeating Zompano. For those of you that signed up, we'll be randomizing the results and replying to the selected characters later tonight. In the meantime, keep enjoying the event! "My ability to retreat to the sea of the soul has been hampered ever since I appeared in this place, no matter what form it takes. As for others being dampened, perhaps it is part of the illusion. Sealing magic is no extraordinary feat and it would serve to reenforce their saying we are mad as we can not prove we are not of this lie."

She shrugs a bit.

"As for helping, I have been trying to see if any souls are not as buried in the lie as those telling it would wish. Small nudges and brief flashes of what actually is over what we see."

He vaguely remembered having a conversation this filled with riddles, and focused intently on her for a moment... but then the memory was gone again. "There are more than a few that I've personally noticed, yes. The number has grown as the week has gone on."

"I have seen a few sleepers awaken from this dream, but I have also seen the dream fight back. I suspect this is why we are speaking of this in quiet as opposed to where others may awaken."

"Yes, essentially." It was a murmur and he nodded. "It wouldn't do any good to get anyone in trouble. And yourself? Where are you in this?"

"I am.... Hrm."

She ponders and looks around.

"I believe I still am in the place called Luceti, but ultimately I know not where that is. Unless you mean philosophically. It is my duty to light the truth to people, but it is not my place to make them accept it or deal with it."

Her words drew a thoughtful look from him, and he inclined his head slightly. "And do you have any sort of leaning toward defending those you find with their memories not entirely of things as we thought they were?"

"I currently am separated from my persona. I would like to help, but currently I am not terribly capable of defending myself, let alone others."

"Ah... So you're confined to information." He paused a beat. "Though... I could try to teach you some self defense, if you like? I know a few small things that might help."

"I know how to wield a book, and a song that will cause fear, but yes. Without my persona I am rather limited."

"Then... I would be happy to teach you what I know, once the chaos is resolved." He inclined his head to her slightly.

"I would be honored, as I am little without my persona. That I suspect is the one downside of only being raised on the outside. Still! Learning how the other side works will be fascinating!"

A small, understanding smile crossed his face and he dipped his head. "Then we must be sure to keep in contact. I am Nagato."

She bows, "And I am Elizabeth. When things return to how they were before I frequent the fountain in town center often."

He turned just a little puzzled at that declaration, then slowly nodded. "Of course. I'll keep an eye out for you. For now, I must be on my way."

"Good luck in your endeavors to show the truth on this all then."

She waves as he turns.
