Luceti Valley - The Second Log

Luceti Valley continued in its own merry little way. The rich got richer, the poor got poorer. A new tax hike had ensured increasing animosity between both groups, despite the protests of the every charitable Lord Mayor. But on the sixth day, something happens and people begin to notice things are unusual. Idle thoughts that if thought about too much is bound to get you a visit to the police station for an hour or so. Or worse, it may just get you committed.

Meanwhile, the asylum continues to gain more and more patients. Those that are trapped there will find escaping difficult, but there may be more to this place than they first assumed...

On the tenth, battle breaks out across Luceti Valley. People begin to exhibit powers and abilities they didn't know they had. The police begin rounding up these people to lock up. If they resist, its bound to come to blows. Even though no one has regained their memories of their true self yet, it becomes apparent that some trickery is afoot, even if they might not know the source or why.


Note: This is the second log! There will be a third and final event log for the aftermath. There will also be two separate logs specifically for finding John and defeating Zompano. For those of you that signed up, we'll be randomizing the results and replying to the selected characters later tonight. In the meantime, keep enjoying the event! [Saori crossed the room and wrapped her arms around Hinata. But as she touched the girl, an electrical discharge snapped between them. Nothing dangerous, but definitely more than normal.]

It's alright, dear. Are your...senses different?

[twinlionfists]

[She let out a tiny squeak at the shock. It was more than just regular static shock, but not much more. However, her arms tingled from where Saori touched her.

At her sister's question, Hinata looked around, letting her brain try to process the information that she was receiving at a rapid rate that should have scared her but just confused her a bit.

Until she spotted Yuuna and could literally see through her skin and bones.]

Y-y-yes...I...I can see through Yuuna-neesan's body without an x-ray machine.

[windandrain]

[Saori followed Hinata's gaze, her nose quivering. Yuuna...was in another room, across the house. She could feel the other woman, some sort of energy passing between them, and her scent was strong but there were...walls...in the way.]

You know she's...in another wing of the house, right? I believe you, but...that is definitely not what I expected. I...only know that, because I can feel her, and I can smell her from here.

Is that all that's different? How you see things?

[twinlionfists]

[She reaches out a little with her eyesight, surprised at the range. She can see all the way into the town, practically to her school, which is nearly seven kilometers away. And she can adjust her vision for normal to far-seeing to x-ray to...something else.]

That is not enough, Neesan?

[She holds out her hands, afraid of Saori's reaction to what she discovered yesterday, allowing the strange power to make her fists glow an eerie blue color before they morph into vague animalistic shapes.]

There is that.

I'm just...wondering if that's everything. Or if we all have these new senses, and more.

[She blinks at the energy, and something about it stands out to her. A particular scent, a particular feeling. Her nose twitches and she lowers it to sniff.]

It seems I'm not the only one who's gotten strange new powers. [She holds up her fingers and electricity arcs between them.]

I...can't quite fathom how this happened. Maybe...it's tied to all the arrests? I wish I knew, I wish I could tell you. But it doesn't seem like it's hurting anything, does it?

[twinlionfists]

I...I know even less than you. I...discovered my eyesight issue when speaking with...[Yep, her face sure is one huge blush now.] Neji-niisan. It was an...inconvenience. It is not hurting anyone that I have heard, but I am worried that things may turn out poorly in the confusion.

D-do you think that I should go to school this morning or stay home?

[windandrain]

Well dear...[Saori moves over and hugs her sister tightly now] I think it's best we all stay together today. I think, perhaps, we shouldn't split up too much. So no, you're not going to school. Neither is your brother, and Yuuna is most definitely staying indoors.

[twinlionfists]

[A part of her relaxes in her sister's hold, but she can't be completely at peace.]

N-neesan, what about my friends? I must know if they are safe. W-what about...[Rin?]...those that work the farms?

[windandrain]

That, dear, is something that we will find out soon enough. Once everyone's able to gather, we'll all go out and look together. I think that if anyone messes with us, we can use these powers to fight back anyway. But I don't want to split up if we can help it.

[twinlionfists]

O-of course. [If Saori thinks that Hinata is going to sit still while her friends are in danger, then her sister doesn't know her very well.]

I-I think that Neji-niisan is in his bedroom right now.

[windandrain]

Go find him, I'll get Yuuna, and we'll go to the farm. I want to make sure Belle is alright too.

[She wasn't implying anything of the sort.]

Y-yes. Shall we meet by the front doors then?

[The words are barely out of her mouth before she is heading to where she can see Neji sitting and staring at himself in his mirror. She needs to find a way to the school. There are friends that will try to go there, regardless of what happens.]

Absolutely.

[She's striding off to the other wing, following her nose...]
