The first step is the one you believe in
Who: Pepper Potts, Tony Stark, and everyone who has gathered there today.
What: A wedding and reception
When: Sept 14, All Day
Where: Cherry Blossom Hill / The Battle Dome
Summary: Pepper and Tony are getting marriedfinally officially finally.
Rating: PG/PG-13 max? There's at least one kid here.
The decorations on the hill are simple ones; they've chosen this spot because it's naturally beautiful without the need for embellishments. Chairs have been set up for the expected guests, with a clear path laid out for the wedding party. And of course up front there is a place for those people to stand, in sight of everyone gathered so Tony won't be able to tell Pepper "I told you so" as color commentary won't be necessary.
After the ceremony everyone will be invited to go to the Battle Dome for the reception. There Tony's programmed an expansive hall with tables and seating enough for everyone. There's also a dance floor, which everyone is encouraged to take advantage of. The atmosphere is warm and vibrant, clearly intended to help all in attendance have a good time. Dinner will be served, and there's an open bar, with rum by request of the officiant.
Just don't get too rowdy, okay kids?
{{ooc: Visual references and details can be found here. Link is very image heavy. There will be separate threads for before the ceremony, during, and the reception.
EDIT: Now with a sign up to catch the bouquet!}}

Vastra, I cannot thank you enough. [Pepper beams at the woman; hopefully she won't mind a very happy bride offering a warm hug.]

It's my pleasure dear. You appear to be glowing, so I suppose asking if you are enjoying yourself is redundant?
no subject
Maybe a little. [Enjoyment doesn't seem to truly describe what she's feeling, either. But a lack of words won't damper the enduring joy and bliss of the day for her.] I'm glad you're taking a break. Every time I've seen you, you've been bustling about.
no subject
But even when it was busy, I didn't want you to even think about picking up a single plate. So I did have my work cut out for me, perhaps.
[But she hadn't come with a plus-one, so really, keeping busy had been good for her.]

If I had had a large wedding, I wouldn't have wanted to think about these small details. Perhaps this means that should I ever decide to renew my vows, the universe will provide someone to look after these things.
no subject
Vastra is married, and still in love enough to consider renewing vows--but she's come to Pepper's wedding alone. Having someone to attend to the details is a pretty minor thing, when the universe they were trapped in hasn't provided her partner.] Hopefully so.

I have a few friends, of course, but one of them would rather threaten the guests than serve them. And the other, I would be impressed if he managed to actually look after anything that wasn't covered in knobs and flashing lights.

Wow. It sounds like you’ve got a handful with those two. A fighter and a tinkerer; it's almost hard to say which one is worse.
[Coming from the woman who just married a tinkerer of her own.]
no subject
But you never quite know what will interest the tinkerer next.
no subject
[And tinkering had become an escape in the end. One that almost cost them their relationship.]
no subject
But tinkerers, while they do cause their share of problems, never leave you bored. Obviously I don't have to tell you that though, if Tony has already demonstrated as much. [She grins knowingly.] But if you like life to be an adventure, and I'm not sure who wouldn't want excitement in their life, then a tinkerer would guarantee that.
no subject
But no. He’s come so far, and Pepper has decided to trust that. Otherwise this day wouldn’t have happened.] I think I prefer a little control to my chaos.

Married life does have a tendency to settle the spirit, I have found.
[...a little bit...]
no subject
Usually being the operative word.]
Really? I'll have to let you know if that's the case with us.
[Maybe. She's not going to hold her breath though.]
