What: A wedding and reception
When: Sept 14, All Day
Where: Cherry Blossom Hill / The Battle Dome
Summary: Pepper and Tony are getting married finally officially finally.
Rating: PG/PG-13 max? There's at least one kid here.
The decorations on the hill are simple ones; they've chosen this spot because it's naturally beautiful without the need for embellishments. Chairs have been set up for the expected guests, with a clear path laid out for the wedding party. And of course up front there is a place for those people to stand, in sight of everyone gathered so Tony won't be able to tell Pepper "I told you so" as color commentary won't be necessary.

After the ceremony everyone will be invited to go to the Battle Dome for the reception. There Tony's programmed an expansive hall with tables and seating enough for everyone. There's also a dance floor, which everyone is encouraged to take advantage of. The atmosphere is warm and vibrant, clearly intended to help all in attendance have a good time. Dinner will be served, and there's an open bar, with rum by request of the officiant.

Just don't get too rowdy, okay kids?

[It’s impressive how Vastra moves on, leaving Pepper with a stronger respect for the woman. Because of that, she also doesn’t linger with the negative thoughts, instead focusing on the other two she mentions.]

Wow. It sounds like you’ve got a handful with those two. A fighter and a tinkerer; it's almost hard to say which one is worse.

[Coming from the woman who just married a tinkerer of her own.]

Oh the tinkerer. Definitely the tinkerer. [Vastra smiles, knowingly.] The fighter, when he gets out of hand, goes on vacation to Scotland and insults every man he meets in every tavern. It's almost like sending him to boarding school for the week-end.

But you never quite know what will interest the tinkerer next.

Oh, so it’s not just me.  [Although the portrait painted of Vastra’s brawler isn’t exactly a good one, Pepper’s very acquainted with the sort of troubles a tinkerer could cause.]  Tony’s caused more than his share of trouble when something interests him.
 
[And tinkering had become an escape in the end.  One that almost cost them their relationship.]

Oh no, dear. Fighters are very predictable in their needs, so I suppose they make incredibly stable partners.

But tinkerers, while they do cause their share of problems, never leave you bored. Obviously I don't have to tell you that though, if Tony has already demonstrated as much. [She grins knowingly.] But if you like life to be an adventure, and I'm not sure who wouldn't want excitement in their life, then a tinkerer would guarantee that.

Well.  There’s adventure, and then there’s-- [Everything they’d gone through back home.  On a day when nothing should dampen her spirits, those memories held that power.  For a moment her smile dimmed, the question of just how long Tony could keep himself from tinkering taking shape in her mind.
 
But no.  He’s come so far, and Pepper has decided to trust that.  Otherwise this day wouldn’t have happened.]  I think I prefer a little control to my chaos.

[Now is probably not the time to point out to Pepper that it was very unlikely that a tinkerer would ever keep 'control' as a foremost tenant in their work. But something is telling her that Pepper knows better than Vastra what she's doing with her life, and to keep her thoughts on the Doctor and his habits to herself.]

Married life does have a tendency to settle the spirit, I have found.

[Vastra could have pointed it out; Pepper in turn would have replied that Tony's failure at control is usually offset by her expertise at it.

Usually being the operative word.]

Really? I'll have to let you know if that's the case with us.

[Maybe. She's not going to hold her breath though.]
