The first step is the one you believe in
Who: Pepper Potts, Tony Stark, and everyone who has gathered there today.
What: A wedding and reception
When: Sept 14, All Day
Where: Cherry Blossom Hill / The Battle Dome
Summary: Pepper and Tony are getting marriedfinally officially finally.
Rating: PG/PG-13 max? There's at least one kid here.
The decorations on the hill are simple ones; they've chosen this spot because it's naturally beautiful without the need for embellishments. Chairs have been set up for the expected guests, with a clear path laid out for the wedding party. And of course up front there is a place for those people to stand, in sight of everyone gathered so Tony won't be able to tell Pepper "I told you so" as color commentary won't be necessary.
After the ceremony everyone will be invited to go to the Battle Dome for the reception. There Tony's programmed an expansive hall with tables and seating enough for everyone. There's also a dance floor, which everyone is encouraged to take advantage of. The atmosphere is warm and vibrant, clearly intended to help all in attendance have a good time. Dinner will be served, and there's an open bar, with rum by request of the officiant.
Just don't get too rowdy, okay kids?
{{ooc: Visual references and details can be found here. Link is very image heavy. There will be separate threads for before the ceremony, during, and the reception.
EDIT: Now with a sign up to catch the bouquet!}}

The Ceremony
Or was he? At least his frock coat is fairly long and covers things.
Now: "Oi -- where've the bride and groom got off to?" Come on, Tony and Pepper. He's waiting.

But all these people were here because they wanted to see him and Pepper happy together. Time to get this show on the road and give them what they want.

Then she looked ahead, and a smile crept over her lips when she saw Tony standing there. They really had come impossibly far, hadn't they? She took her place next to him, sparing a glance at Jack but not noticing too much just yet. Her attention really was on Tony, her eyes bright as they met his.

She really was gorgeous, was Pepper. Sometimes Jack didn't quite notice it, but today she looked radiant. Everyone, in fact, seemed radiant. It wasn't a rushed affair like the one on Beckett's Mum. This was for real. This was for keeps.
"Oi -- you wedding-goers can all take a seat for this bit, it does go on."
He spared a glance for Buffy, hoping she had the ring, and waited for the wedding guests to be seated beneath the cherry trees before continuing:
"No man wants to throw his life away. Most men sell it dearly or gamble on lots of cheap forevers. But our Tony's givin' his, you see; and our Pepper's givin' hers."

It would be the prudent thing to do.
DONE
Unlikely.
And mayhap their bones will all jumble up under the earth and get wreathed about with all the roots and remembrances and suchnot. But let us not all forget that this should be the cause of their life now. It's a petty bit of marriage that only gets wife and husband all jumbled together after death! Now, then, for the lawful jumbling, as the day is ticking on: do you, Miss Pepper Potts, take this rapscallion Stark to be your husband?"

Which was just as well, because Jack launched into his spiel, which less made sense but more got to the point, and that was the most important thing. He was only half-listening anyway, still gazing into Pepper's eyes like she was the whole world - because, well. In that moment? She was.

...After a very unique opening.
Though it might have been better if Pepper could lose herself in Tony's gaze the way he had in hers, she wasn't quite so good at tuning out the world. The groom himself could be blamed for it; a person could only deal with so many insane notions for so many years before they developed the habit of just picking up on them. Some of Jack's commentary had her glancing once again toward him, the unspoken question of whether or not he had actually said that written clearly on her face. Thankfully knowing Buffy was right there made it a little easier to bear--as did the certainty that if she asked, Natasha would loan her a gun.
But for the tangents and the less than romantic content, Jack eventually found his way to where they needed to be. The question of if she would, one answered without hesitation as her eyes once again met Tony's.
"I do."

It was really a rhetorical question.

"I do."

Maybe they all thought she was out of his league--but Pepper couldn't be happier with the person she'd chosen.
