What: A wedding and reception

Where: Cherry Blossom Hill / The Battle Dome
Summary: Pepper and Tony are getting married finally officially finally.
Rating: PG/PG-13 max? There's at least one kid here.
The decorations on the hill are simple ones; they've chosen this spot because it's naturally beautiful without the need for embellishments. Chairs have been set up for the expected guests, with a clear path laid out for the wedding party. And of course up front there is a place for those people to stand, in sight of everyone gathered so Tony won't be able to tell Pepper "I told you so" as color commentary won't be necessary.

After the ceremony everyone will be invited to go to the Battle Dome for the reception. There Tony's programmed an expansive hall with tables and seating enough for everyone. There's also a dance floor, which everyone is encouraged to take advantage of. The atmosphere is warm and vibrant, clearly intended to help all in attendance have a good time. Dinner will be served, and there's an open bar, with rum by request of the officiant.

Just don't get too rowdy, okay kids?

[C'mon, Billy, you've worked too hard on this reception not to have a celebratory glass of champagne. Seventeen is more than old enough in Kate's opinion. It's a special occasion, much like any of those society functions she had been going to most of her life. And hadn't Susan started slipping her drinks as soon as Kate turned fourteen?

No reason why she shouldn't return the favor. Which is why when Kate approaches, it's with two flutes of champagne in hand. She offers one to Billy with a smile.]

Y'know, I'm almost tempted to hire you to decorate mine and Cassie's apartment after seeing this. The place looks amazing, Billy.

[Wow, is he ever spoiled. If he's face-down in a bathroom stall by the end of the night he is totally blaming Kate.

He accepts the glass and lifts it into a mock toast, anyway.]

I'm in. My place was totally feng shui'd until Teddy showed up and I had to learn how to share.

[tryit]

[She lifts her own glass in return for the mock toast, ready to take full responsibility if Billy winds up face-down in a bathroom stall at any point of the night. She'll even help Teddy carry him home.]

I'll have to talk to Cassie but if I were you, I'd consider it a promise right now. [She takes a sip of her champagne before glancing down at the liquid. There's good music playing in the background, alcohol in her glass. Oh, hey, that totally reminds her...] Actually, how would you feel about tackling something bigger?

[Billy lifts a brow at that, giving her a curious look over his glass as he takes a sip.]

What, are you guys getting married next?

[Seriously though, he's intrigued.]

[tryit]

[Very funny, Billy. Very funny. See that look Kate's giving you right now? That sort of long-suffered stare? Yeah, that's all the answer you're going to get to that question.]

What I have planned is going to be so much better than a marriage. For one, it'll last.

[Who can he tease if not his BFF?]

Okay, okay, you've piqued my interest. What's the project?

[True, true.]

Luceti's getting a brand new night club. Ran by yours truly. And, um. Your mom.

[selfhelp]

[Billy's eyes widen at that, and he hastily reaches up and covers Kate's mouth.]

Oh my god, Kate, don't say it! Just call her Wanda!

[tryit]

[Her eyes widen at his panic and subsequent attempt to quiet her. Carefully, she pries his hand away and shakes her head.]

It's not like she's here, Billy. And I know better than to say anything in front of her. Lesson learned on that whole messing with the future thing. Nothing good could probably come of telling her.

[selfhelp]

She doesn't have to be here, I just don't want anyone else to hear it. I've hardly told anyone.

[What she'd said before really sinks in now, though.]

...Wait, you're making a night club? And Wanda wants to help?

[tryit]

[Subject dropped. It's probably safest that way. Though she also doubts anyone here is really paying all that close attention to their talk, Billy's right. This probably isn't a joking matter.

She flashes him a quick look of apology.]

I'm guessing weddings like this aren't exactly all that common here. We need some place to dance, to chill out, and just have some fun every now and then. That old club, Cloud Nine, seemed kind of run down and neglected. It's a perfect reason to start from scratch.

[selfhelp]

[He shakes his head, settling back down - all's forgiven, he's just a little paranoid. And he'd rather give her idea some thought.]

That's true, I think this is the first wedding that's happened since I got here. Do you have a building, or is that Step 1?

[tryit]

Step 1. I was hoping that between you and Wanda, you guys could magic something together.

[selfhelp]

Um... I can fix buildings, and I can move walls around if I have enough time to do it. I can't just magic them out of nothing. And Wanda's control isn't great yet...

[Much as he'd love to just zap a night club into existence, even he's not that good. Especially with the power cap.]

[tryit]

[That wasn't exactly the answer she had been hoping to here. Kate pressed her lips together in a thoughtful frown. Damn. Where to go from here?]

Do you know anyone who can?

[selfhelp]

[Hmmm... hmm. Someone more powerful than a pair of reality benders? That sounds awfully farfe-]

...Isn't there some kind of builder's guild around here? Brave Vesperia? I heard they built the rec center. And the Avengers put together Pepper's art gallery, and Natasha's coffee shop. It wasn't finished instantly but they did a good job.

[tryit]

[She thinks on all of this for a moment, sipping at the champagne as she does.]

I think there was a sign in the library mentioning construction. Something called alchemy?

Alchemy construction? I've never heard of anything like that, but... actually, I think I remember that sign, now. It can't hurt to ask about it, right?

[tryit]

That's what I figure. [She shrugs.] I'll drop a note off next time I walk by the box.

Yeah, can't hurt to ask. And once you've got the building I'd love to help you put together the interior.
