The first step is the one you believe in
Who: Pepper Potts, Tony Stark, and everyone who has gathered there today.
What: A wedding and reception
When: Sept 14, All Day
Where: Cherry Blossom Hill / The Battle Dome
Summary: Pepper and Tony are getting marriedfinally officially finally.
Rating: PG/PG-13 max? There's at least one kid here.
The decorations on the hill are simple ones; they've chosen this spot because it's naturally beautiful without the need for embellishments. Chairs have been set up for the expected guests, with a clear path laid out for the wedding party. And of course up front there is a place for those people to stand, in sight of everyone gathered so Tony won't be able to tell Pepper "I told you so" as color commentary won't be necessary.
After the ceremony everyone will be invited to go to the Battle Dome for the reception. There Tony's programmed an expansive hall with tables and seating enough for everyone. There's also a dance floor, which everyone is encouraged to take advantage of. The atmosphere is warm and vibrant, clearly intended to help all in attendance have a good time. Dinner will be served, and there's an open bar, with rum by request of the officiant.
Just don't get too rowdy, okay kids?
{{ooc: Visual references and details can be found here. Link is very image heavy. There will be separate threads for before the ceremony, during, and the reception.
EDIT: Now with a sign up to catch the bouquet!}}

[Jack's amenable to a dance, but for the moment there's an easy comfort in staying behind the equipment, moving in something that is half embrace and half slow-dance, letting his face rest back against Eugene's neck as he sighs in content and closes his eyes.]
I need to know our credentials, Gene. Expecially if we're supposed to be role models now.

[A content Jack was really rare, not in that he wasn't content often, but that he was relaxed enough not to fidget, to openly express his affection, and to receive some in return. Come to think of it, he hadn't really seen Jack content like this in a very long time. Playing music, getting to hear himself talk on a mic, and being surrounded by a party-- it was a life Eugene hadn't had a chance to see Jack in.
But now he was just being sappy, so he snorted softly]
We don't need a pedigree or credentials to be the best husbands here. Just to steal a little of the show. Show them how it's done.

[It should be a tease, a jab, but it actually comes out sort of . . . earnest. Because so much of their relationship has been this, these stolen moments of affection, frantic kisses among the ruins of civilization and glancing touches nestled in the safe invisibility of radio waves. It feels right to have Eugene pulled snug against his back, rocking him through the barest suggestion of a slow dance as he minds the music. Jack scratches his hairs against his scalp softly, tangling in dense curls, and smiles to himself.]

[Now he's urging Jack to turn around, both hands on his hips in an attempt to have him twist round so they're face to face.]
I wanna take you out on the dance floor.
[Having said that he leaned in for a short but sound kiss, hand gripping Jack's wrist as he plucked him from behind the soundboard. They both needed to practice affection without the pressure of destruction nipping closely at their heels and tonight Eugene intended to begin that process. Stepping confidently onto the dance floor, he drew Jack close, one hand, palm spread against the small of his back, the other remaining gripped on Jack's hand.]
Besides, everyone remembers when I couldn't walk. We've come a long, long way.

Ah. Still showing off the shiny new leg, is that it.
[His grin is teasing, appreciative, as he's pulled into the first steps of the dance. He's glad for Eugene, every day. He's glad they found something that made every mission and errand for their captors worth it.]

That's part of it. What, I'm not allowed to show off my husband? Just wait until we finish the dance. I'll give 'em something to talk about~
[The drawl was intentional, and he enunciated the words clearly so that anyone who could read lips would know precisely what he'd just said. It was... really great, to be in this moment right now. And if things hadn't shifted out of the previous shift that Luceti set them down the path of, it'd be him dancing with Jack at their own wedding, Vastra at the reigns of the celebration.
And he knew, as he'd known, that Jack was entirely worth the rest of his life]
I really should try to tan, don't you think? Go out to the beach where Zev took us and sunbathe. For old time's sake.
