Where: Cherry Blossom Hill / The Battle Dome
Summary: Pepper and Tony are getting married finally officially finally.
Rating: PG/PG-13 max? There's at least one kid here.
The decorations on the hill are simple ones; they've chosen this spot because it's naturally beautiful without the need for embellishments. Chairs have been set up for the expected guests, with a clear path laid out for the wedding party. And of course up front there is a place for those people to stand, in sight of everyone gathered so Tony won't be able to tell Pepper "I told you so" as color commentary won't be necessary.

After the ceremony everyone will be invited to go to the Battle Dome for the reception. There Tony's programmed an expansive hall with tables and seating enough for everyone. There's also a dance floor, which everyone is encouraged to take advantage of. The atmosphere is warm and vibrant, clearly intended to help all in attendance have a good time. Dinner will be served, and there's an open bar, with rum by request of the officiant.

Just don't get too rowdy, okay kids?

You're usually bluer, too. [She didn't mean to embarrass him, but it looks like there's no going back now.] Why did you change for today?

I-it's a formal event, after all. Fuzz optional. [He says nervously.] I just thought... I should look my sharpest.

Oh, Kurt. [She tugs gently at the collar of his shirt, smiling and shaking her head.] You look your sharpest no matter what people see.

[He gives a bashful grin.]

It's - it's just easier to see this way, that's all. I don't want to cause a scene if not everyone at this party turns out to be fuzz-compatible, you know?

With the number of people in this village who struggle over who they are, at heart, I think no one would have problems with what you look like - because they know what your heart is.

[Kurt has always been easy to talk to.]

And that heart... That's a heart of fuzz? [This song's a little slow for his tastes. He feels kind of clumsy with his movements. But Mia's words keep his spirit up.]

Yes. And that's not bad, either, although your world might have taught you that it is.

My world taught me a lot of things. Man... Talk about mixed messages! But the Professor... Ororo and everyone... They've taught me that I shoud be it should be good. That... this should be good.

[And as he talks, he steps back to fiddle with the image inducer, turning it off.]

If you want to dance with a tipsy fuzzball, than that should be good enough for everyone too.

Well, I'm not sure I like seeing you tipsy, but I will dance with any and all Kurts, so long as they are you.

[Look at the smile, though. It's obvious she likes the real, fuzzy Kurt better than the image of a human one.]

Be careful what you say in a place like this. You could wind up stuck dancing with Billy and Teddy's Kurt - and it sounds like he's an old-timer. But I bet he's more rugged and manly, too!

Billy and Teddy's Kurt wouldn't be you, and so he wouldn't be the right one.

So there is a difference! It sounds like any me has to be me enough, for Mia. Is that it? [He chuckles at his own wordplay.]

[She's laughing, barely paying any attention to the dancing part.]

Be careful, or you'll trip over your own words.

Hey, hey, don't worry about any tripping. I'm totally good to go! [Although he may step on her foot without realizing.]

[Ah.

She's in the heels.

That one step is solid enough to throw off her already-wobbly steps and she pitches to the side. She catches herself, but she's wincing.]

[Kurt winces as he sees what happened; he takes a moment to slap his forehead before he clumsily reaches to try to help brace her.]

Sorry sorry! I'm so sorry!

It's all right. [She has a hold of his sleeve with one hand, the other waving a bit in the air so she can keep her fragile balance.] Just a little misstep, it was bound to happen to me in these shoes.

[wildbluevagner]

It was my mistake. [With his other hand, he grabs the hand holding into the sleeve and tries to help pull her into balance.]

M-maybe this was a bad idea. I'm just going to keep messing things up.

[frost_jewel]

Don't be silly, Kurt, you didn't do anything wrong. I should have changed my shoes before I tried to dance. [Balanced at last, she tries to nudge him into continuing what they were doing. It hurts, but she doesn't think it's too bad.]

[wildbluevagner]

[He hesitantly starts to go back into the dance, with just a bit of tipsy exaggeration.]

I just feel like... I mess everything up, lately.

[frost_jewel]

Mess everything up? Why do you feel that way?

[wildbluevagner]

Because of... lots of things. [He blinks quickly. He doesn't dwell too much on the possibility that the alcohol is helping to let some insecurities loose.] I feel like I haven't been able to really be there for Rogue. I feel like I'm letting Amanda down. That is has to be my fault things went so bad with Suki. And I don't want to add to all of that and... hurt you, too.

[frost_jewel]

[They haven't talked much about Suki since Kurt stopped seeing her. Careful not to sway too far, Mia takes both of his hands and shakes her head gently.]

I can't speak for Amanda, but I can say that...well, that none of us can be there for Rogue until Rogue allows us to be. And right now, Loki's the one she lets in.

[wildbluevagner]

[He looks at her carefully as she speaks, trying to get it into her heard.]

I- I see. When I first got here... Things seem to have changed for the better. She really accepted me as her brother. And now... I still trust her. But I can't help but worry, too.
