What: A wedding and reception
When: Sept 14, All Day
Where: Cherry Blossom Hill / The Battle Dome
Summary: Pepper and Tony are getting married finally officially finally.
Rating: PG/PG-13 max? There's at least one kid here.
The decorations on the hill are simple ones; they've chosen this spot because it's naturally beautiful without the need for embellishments. Chairs have been set up for the expected guests, with a clear path laid out for the wedding party. And of course up front there is a place for those people to stand, in sight of everyone gathered so Tony won't be able to tell Pepper "I told you so" as color commentary won't be necessary.

After the ceremony everyone will be invited to go to the Battle Dome for the reception. There Tony's programmed an expansive hall with tables and seating enough for everyone. There's also a dance floor, which everyone is encouraged to take advantage of. The atmosphere is warm and vibrant, clearly intended to help all in attendance have a good time. Dinner will be served, and there's an open bar, with rum by request of the officiant.

Just don't get too rowdy, okay kids?

[That makes Billy pause, though he doesn't quite miss a step.]

[Confidentiality between patient and therapist-kinda-sorta makes everything else a big secret.]

at least, not overly so -- ] And -- if I'm not mistaken -- you know him from home but not the same him, or something like that?

[He's still iffy about the direction of this conversation, but at least this is familiar ground to him.]

Yeah, it's... alternate-reality, I guess? The Tony Stark of my world is really different from the guy I know here.

[And then, more tentatively, he adds:]

Why, has he told you about it?

In passing. [ she leaps upon his tentativeness. ] Nothing dire. Just, y'know, conversation between friends.

[It's not like he'd expected Tony to have told her more, but... well, it's a relief. He relaxes at once, his smile returning.]

That makes sense. He doesn't really like to be compared to some version of him that he doesn't even know.

I wouldn't blame him. Hell, sometimes it's hard enough being compared to your own version.

[ at least, buffy feels a lot of concern on that point. on living up to her own legacy. ]

God, I can only imagine. I'm thanking my lucky stars that I apparently don't have any alternates, at least so far. Though with the way my team keeps avoiding talking about the future, I keep wondering what the heck happens to me.

...In my experience? It's a mystery usually better left unsolved.

Hence why I haven't started begging my brother to tell me what I'm missing. Though knowing him, he'd just say something annoyingly cryptic and zip off before I could ask again.

...He's back again, isn't he?

Yeah, just this month. After a whole year he just shows up out of the blue... typical Luceti. Or typical him, I guess.

And he's...ahead?

That's what he tells me. Very, very cryptically. By about a year, as far as I can figure.

I think there was a time, once, when I could have said it would be better to know what happens than to not know and be left wondering.

[A lot can happen, yep.]

Yeah, maybe I'd have asked more, way back when. I've learned a few things about my future that... I don't know. It really put my mind at ease.

[Discovering that he wouldn't spend the rest of his life being passive-aggressively tortured in space prison was definitely a perk of Teddy's arrival, among numerous others.]

But the bad stuff? The stuff I know Tommy's not telling me? I'll just worry all the time about things I can't change. I think I do that enough already.

I guess...

I guess he just has to figure out whether to tell you or not in his own time.

This is Tommy we're talking about, here. I'm pretty sure he never will.

Maybe. What do I know? He's you're brother -- so I'm guessing your the expert in him.

Ha. Not even. I've only known him for like, six months.

[Which is a pretty short span for a twin, all things considered. Hell, most of that was from Luceti, and this Tommy forgot all of that. So it's more like... a month or two?]

I think Kate knows him better than I do.

[herotypical]

Hmm. Came down with a case of sudden siblingdom? [ for a moment, she thinks about dawn. ] I can get behind that.

Who's Kate?

Um, yeah. Kinda awkward, isn't it?

[Though thankfully his version didn't come with altered memories or anything, though he did have the occasional weird dream about it.]

Kate's one of the Young Avengers- my teammate, and my best friend aside from Teddy. Basically the most amazing girl I know.

[herotypical]

...Is she here?

[selfhelp]

She is, actually. She's right- [He adjusts their dance posture enough to wriggle a hand free and point to the table he'd been sitting at- Teddy and Kate are probably hanging out nearby.] Over there. See the dark-haired girl with Teddy? That's Kate. I can introduce you if you want. I bet you guys would get along.

[ buffy manages to keep her movements fluid as the dance incorporates a gesture. and then, after that, it incorporates her slight whirl to turn and try and get a look at the girl. hmm. ]

I think I'd kinda love that, Billy.

[selfhelp]

[Excellent, excellent. All his kick-ass friends should also be friends.]

One dance and we'll make it happen. Um, fair warning, though, she... might already know who you are. The same way I kind of do. But she's better at being subtle about it than I am.
