Where: Cherry Blossom Hill / The Battle Dome
Summary: Pepper and Tony are getting married finally officially finally.
Rating: PG/PG-13 max? There's at least one kid here.
The decorations on the hill are simple ones; they've chosen this spot because it's naturally beautiful without the need for embellishments. Chairs have been set up for the expected guests, with a clear path laid out for the wedding party. And of course up front there is a place for those people to stand, in sight of everyone gathered so Tony won't be able to tell Pepper "I told you so" as color commentary won't be necessary.

After the ceremony everyone will be invited to go to the Battle Dome for the reception. There Tony's programmed an expansive hall with tables and seating enough for everyone. There's also a dance floor, which everyone is encouraged to take advantage of. The atmosphere is warm and vibrant, clearly intended to help all in attendance have a good time. Dinner will be served, and there's an open bar, with rum by request of the officiant.

Just don't get too rowdy, okay kids?

[there was something off about her. Aside from the obvious... but Simon hardly ever put others before himself. The fact that he had a healthy dose of respect for Jack was... a point in his favor, in fact. Eugene couldn't help but smile, lick his lips as he thought]

I mean, how often can I truly say that you have been downright benevolent? I-- I think maybe once. This time. I'd say call the press, but I can be considered the press, technically.

Hey, I know how to be benevolent! [She looked offended at that.] Just because you don't remember it all doesn't mean I'm not. I happen to be very benevolent. Also at the moment, we have no press so no, that doesn't count at all. Don't make me regret being nice to Jack. I could go back to announcing how happy you were to see me this morning after all.

I have the feeling you'd still be nice to Jack even if I pissed you off.

[Because Simon did fancy Jack, he knew that. And the last thing he wanted to do was break Jack's heart intentionally. Regardless, it was a gesture he hadn't expected, and Eugene was quietly grateful for it. So he did something kind in return and pulled Simon in close, tension eased and smiling a little against her hair. She felt nice, this dance didn't have to be about a battle of wills.]

What am I supposed to be remembering?

Why should I be mean to Jack because you're an ass? [Simon countered with an arch of her eyebrows.] Sounds pretty pointless to me. Especially since you're typically an ass.

[Except Eugene was playing nice and wasn't that suspicious and even as Gene relaxed and pulled her closer, she tensed in return, now wary of what he might be up to. Despite the fact that she'd teased him into this, gotten him out here. Now she wasn't entirely sure what to do with him, because getting a Eugene that wasn't scowling at her wasn't something she was accustomed to. Even in her normal body. They hadn't exactly hit it off well. Then again, Simon typically had more fun flirting with Eugene's boyfriend and pushing Eugene's buttons rather than trying to smooth over their complicated interactions.]

Oh please. You're not going to actually try and pull the 'That wasn't me, it was a banana' excuse, are you? Not even Sam would fall for that one.

[Ah, again with the arguing, he rolled his eyes with a soft sigh and just continued dancing, listening to Simon talk on and on like she wanted to. He really ought to win an award for quickest awkward dance. Risking marring Pepper and Tony's wedding wasn't on his list of "life accomplishments to check off" tonight, so he waited till there was a lull in the music before disengaging from her, smiling wanly]

Well, no. I have no idea what you're talking about. What am I supposed to be remembering?

[She stepped back, wrapping her arms around her middle and giving him a Look, because that hadn't turned out at all like she'd intended and now... now she wanted a drink.]

Nothing. Thanks for the dance. Don't you have a boyfriend to go rescue from monotony?

[Yup. Drink. Now. She turned away to leave him there, having had enough of the reception for one night. Maybe she'd take that drink back at home instead.]

[Clearly he didn't understand girls-- or girls who happened to be Simon. But if she wasn't going to elaborate, he couldn't read minds, so he didn't argue. Instead, he turned his attention back toward Jack, picking his way through the reception toward him.]
