Summary: Billy returns from a kidnapping feeling a bit, er, different. A white light envelops the village for just a moment, and when it fades... well. All kinds of things are different, actually.
Rating: Varies, anything above R take it elsewhere!

It starts off so innocently, early on the morning of October 1st. A burst of light, a warm rush of energy that consumes everything it touches, and it's gentle enough to feel like stepping out into sunlight from the shade. It's so brief that some people might not even notice it happened. But there are certainly... differences. Some subtle, some not. And those changed won't even understand the problem.

After all, why would perfection be a problem?

The truth is, there are no problems. There can't be. It's perfect, Billy thinks. Believes it. His belief is his reality, and now, it's their reality. It all has to be perfect; they deserve it, all of them, for one reason or another. And he'll do whatever he has to protect that perfection from being tainted, ruined, taken away from them.

Teddy died so this could happen, after all.

Poor little angel. I never thought of using a bagel, with William and Thomas! We seemed to prefer a small wash rag soaked in chamomile tea, and then frozen. Or at least William did. Thomas was... a whole other story. [She chuckles slightly, remembering. It's easy to laugh, now, when it's so far away. At the time, it wasn't nearly so amusing.] Still. It can't last forever. She'll have a head full of beautiful teeth, soon enough.

[It was a little difficult to think of anything that could have from her and Loki's union as an angel, but occasionally Anja was so sweet Rogue wondered where she came from herself.]

I'm not worried about forever. I'm worried about tonight. [Her gaze flicked away. Gifted with the ability to feel, take away, or replace someone's emotional while she was touching them, Rogue had the inside track on what this was doing to her daughter and she didn't like it.] Loki an' I both agreed not to use our powers on her to make it better, in case it messes anythin' up, but...

[But she hated the fact that her child was in pain and there was nothing she could do about it.]

Sleepless nights, hmmm. Yes, I can't say as I envy you, there. You know, you could try rum. Thomas... was a shriek-er, not unlike what it sounds like Anja's doing. Just dip your finger in a 1:4 solution of of Rum to water, and run it over her gums. Though-- I might suggest trying the chamomile, first. ... I feel so sorry for the babies. They're so young, so new. ... Every pain is a new pain, and the worst one yet, for them. I would cry too. ... In fact, I think I probably did!

[Rogue laughs a little.] Probably! But I might give the rum to water thing a try. It might at least make it tingle...

[She shakes her head.]

Anyway. What's up with you?

Ohh, not much, not much. I heard Logan was back in town. I'm considering hunting him down to chat about how he travels so freely. ...I would so love for my brother to come for a visit.

Pietro? [Rogue smiled a little.] He'd be bored to tears here. He an' Tommy could start a club.

Oh, instantly. But I think he'd come to like it, in time. And-- I have to admit, I would like him here for Thomas. I feel like Pietro could teach him so much about his powers. I've been able to help him some, but I feel I've done a much better job with William. I'd like the same sort of attention for Thomas.

Not all of us are so lucky to get someone with the same exact powers to work with us. [Rogue glances down at her bare hands and smiles a little.] We turn out alright.

[Wanda laughs a little.] Of course, of course. ... Better than alright, if you're anything to judge by. But-- you know. If we have the resource, why not take advantage of it? ... [She taps a finger to her lips, a little sly.] Though... if I'm being fully honest, I'm likely just looking for an excuse to talk Pietro into moving here.

[Rogue nodded at the compliment. It had been a struggle to control her powers, but it was one she knew the other girl could relate to - and there was always that, even when they had been on different sides of a debate which was no longer a factor.]

It'd be nice to see him again, I won't lie. Pietro has a way of makin' any place entertaining.

Entertaining. Annoying. I've seen just about all sides his personality has to offer. In the very least, it would be interesting to have him here. ...Truly, there are many people from back home I wouldn't mind moving to Luceti. It's so much nicer here. And they've missed out on so much of the boy's lives, already.

I know what you mean. [She glances away, smiling softly.] Sometimes letters just aren't enough.

[She wishes Mystique and Irene were here to see their granddaughter more often.]
