"They always say they're into the freaky stuff the first time, Jack. It's how they seal the deal in the hopes that you might actually keep seeing them afterwards. Lemme guess, you told her you'd look her up during the next joint draft or something?"

She picked the snack out of his hand, not even bothering to say thanks. After all, in Buffy's world, simply deigning to accept the pickle was gratitude enough.

"We were going to go sailing together," he said in protest. He then stuffed half the pickle in his mouth.

"...Sailing," she echoed -- brows up and the pickle about four inches from her mouth. "Really?"

[Sokka starts to inflate even more and starts to rise in the air as he becomes more and more wide.]

"You're wearing nothing but a small piece of cloth that can fall off at anytime. Damaging may not be the word for it."

He chewed thoughtfully before answering. "I might even do it."

"Do you even know how to sail?" The pickle went from food to wand as Buffy waved it at Jack. "Does she?"

"Me? Duh. Her? Beats me. Now stop waving your dill in front of me."

"It's not a loincloth. The chances of it falling off are remote."

...Fine, then. The Slayer took a rather vicious and ruthless bite out of the offending pickle. Beware, men of the world, for here be the rampant destruction of phallic imagery.

Jack winced. "I'm not sure whether to be horrified or turned on by that."

"Sounds like you gotta figure out whether you're down with the freaky stuff, too," she said -- so wry and dry that it would be impossible to actually mistake her for someone advocating anything too wicked. She liked to play the hidebound vanilla hero; life seemed easier, that way.

"But -- ugh -- now I want gum. Or a breath mint. Please tell me you're carrying?"

He whipped out a small tin of mints from a pocket. Only that one had condoms in it. He swapped it for the other pocket. This one actually had mints in it.

"Always come prepared," he explained.

I'm not wasting my time on any of those ridiculous rides! Hey! Where are you dragging me off to?! [Thrill Land? Sounds awful!]

"It'd almost be sweet and thoughtful if it wasn't also so..."

She trailed off, unable to select just the right insult as she busied herself with selecting a mint.

Well, they always do strange stuff for strange reasons...I doubt this is any kind of honor, though! Like, I bet they're totally making fun of me! [She starts to glance around a little as she speaks.] There's gotta be like, an office in this place or something, right? I'm like, so totally going to complain!

Oh, uh, no, I haven't. A lot of the stuff at those food stalls in the park just looked like, so greasy and icky...

Yeah, there's offices right when we walked in, I think. [That...sounded about right. Maybe.] I'm not sure if they have one for just this part of the park. Do you have a map?
