Happy Thanksgiving!

Who: Kate Bishop and anyone interested.
What: Celebrate Thanksgiving.

Where: Kate's apartment (and the kitchen of Floor 6 of the Ground Building)
Summary: Earlier in the week, Kate put out an journal message inviting people to Thanksgiving. This is the result.
Rating: PG/PG-13

It wasn't until cooking experimentation two nights before at Sam and Simon's that Kate began to suspect that cooking a Thanksgiving dinner might be a whole lot harder than she had planned. Apparently, there was a relatively big difference between cooking just one dish for yourself and cooking enough to feed a horde.

At the end of the day, though, Kate finds herself pleased with the end result. The table she dragged into her apartment is set up against the wall to act as a buffet table. People ought to be willing to help themselves to whatever food they want. And there's definitely a decent spread, thanks in part mostly to her friends.



If there's one thing Kate Bishop is thankful for this year? It's having the people she has in her life.

With everyone helping out, the cleaning portion of the night goes by rather quickly. Which is kind of nice, because she's all ready to collapse on the couch with her bottle of wine and some good company.

Kate smiles when she sees Jack already there and holds up the bottle of Shiraz. "Want a refill?"

"You, madam, are a goddess. A wine-bearing goddess." Bonelessly, Jack stretches out, holding out his empty glass in supplication to his newly-crowned deity. He has to say, if this is the way that Thanksgivings always end in the United States, he's absolutely ready to adopt a new holiday into his calendar. "There is at least one of those, right? Can't all just be guys reigning over the vineyards."

Kate grins a little smugly at that, leaning back against the couch and taking a long sip from her own glass. "If the position's open, I might have to consider. Simon's already got the worshiping bit down. How hard could it be to maintain one or two more?"

"I'm pretty sure we have actual deities in Luceti. You could always ask one of them," he drawls, pleased and lazy and like heck he's dropping to her level and reading innuendo into that comment. There are some things he does not need to know, and Simon Lauchlan's intimate time with a probable superhero is one of them.

Probably superhero? Try definite, Jack. She might not have the superpowers that the rest of her teammates have, but she still has some kickass skills of her own. Unlike the rest of them, she earned her codename. And works hard to deserve it each and every day.

She considers that just for a moment before shaking her head. “Nah. Where would the fun in that be?”
