Happy Thanksgiving!

Who: Kate Bishop and anyone interested.
What: Celebrate Thanksgiving.
When: Thursday, November 29
Where: Kate's apartment (and the kitchen of Floor 6 of the Ground Building)
Summary: Earlier in the week, Kate put out an journal message inviting people to Thanksgiving. This is the result.
Rating: PG/PG-13

It wasn't until cooking experimentation two nights before at Sam and Simon's that Kate began to suspect that cooking a Thanksgiving dinner might be a whole lot harder than she had planned. Apparently, there was a relatively big difference between cooking just one dish for yourself and cooking enough to feed a horde.

At the end of the day, though, Kate finds herself pleased with the end result. The table she dragged into her apartment is set up against the wall to act as a buffet table. People ought to be willing to help themselves to whatever food they want. And there's definitely a decent spread, thanks in part mostly to her friends.



If there's one thing Kate Bishop is thankful for this year? It's having the people she has in her life.

You need to try the cranberries. [ Yep, that's how he's starting it off. Tommy's restraining his usual eating habits to a polite speedy, rather than the over the top gromming that he usually does. ] They're sweet.

[Wanda makes a face, somewhere between pleased and skeptical, not sure if Tommy's being sincere or not. ]

[Wanda wouldn't hold it against him if he sped through his food; It's certainly noting she hasn't seen before!]

Oh yeah? [ He did't, but he'll gladly give teen mom more praise because she can make some mean sidedishes! ]

Yeah. ... Are they really ok? I was worried they were maybe too sweet. [She is going to go ahead and believe that he didn't know, and his praise was genuine, and her smile alters to reflect this. ] I'm not really much of a cook, but the recipe was surprisingly simple.

Trust me, they're awesome. I've eaten food from every country in the world! I know my stuff.

Oh yeah...? ...What's your favourite, then? ... and what's the worst? [This question is totally innocent with NO ULTERIOR MOTIVE WHATSOEVER, clearly. Totally. For realsies. ]

The best place I've ever eaten at was this little hole in the wall noodle place in Taiwan. It looked really sketchy but it was worth it. I couldn't tell you what the hell I ordered, but it was amazing. Worst place? I ate at this steakhouse in New Jersey and the details of that meal shouldn't be spoken when eating.

Hmm. I've been told "New Jersey" shouldn't be spoken when eating, though... I've never been myself. You must have been all over the place. ... I confess I'm jealous. That must be-- very fun.

[ ... teen mom continues to be perceptive... or referring to the cheat sheet that is also having a speedster twin. for a moment, he wonders what it would've been like to grow up with billy. would they be like wanda and pietro? or would they be entirely different people because of it. He's still a little surprised, but shrugs and lifts his hands up in a "what can you do" way. ]

I make due. I'm pretty sure I'm going to start checking out those missions.

Well, you haven't broken any body parts, either yours or other people's yet... so I think you're "making due" pretty well. ... Let me know if those missions are, hmm... worth while. I considering them from time to time. [Wanda would be HONOURED to be called perceptive. No one's ever called her that before in her life.]

In the meanwhile-- at least there's turkey. And potatoes. ... And rolls. ... and good company.
