[After a lot of preparation, opening night for Luceti's newest club is finally here. The music is loud and insistent, the kind where you have to shout a bit to be heard above the noise. Flashing, moving lights above reveal the purple decor, mostly devoid of chairs, and plenty of room to dance. A well stocked bar should be able to provide liquid courage to anyone too nervous to shake there groove-thang sober, while a patio out back affords a space for anyone wanting to have more intimate (or just quieter) interactions. There's also a coat room, for anyone looking for a warmer spot for intimate interactions.

The doors open at seven, and will stay open until two am-- plenty of time to drink, dance, talk and generally have a good time. When the DJs aren't spinning, a house mix is put on, so there's never a quiet moment.]

Hey, I'm just surprised I was able to find something to wear. [He smooths over some wrinkles in his suit, a small smile on his face.] I just hope I'm not overdressed.

Not by half. You look really great, actually. You men always get the sensible clothes. [The trade off being, of course, that the women get the flashy, sparkly ones.] Did you find that in the shops?

[He nods, taking the opportunity to check out her dress. Yes, it is flashy. And he likes it.]

Along with my visor. I don't think my uniform's shown up yet, but I'll keep checking. But what about you? That dress looks fantastic.

[He wants to say it looks like it might be a yellowish color. It's hard to tell, of course, but there are subtle differences in the way certain colors look through his shades.]

[She turns this way and that, looking herself over and showing him a few different views. It is, indeed, yellow, though it might read more orange to him.] You like it? I think it's the same one that I wore to the Sadie Hawkins dance. [Remember, Scott? When you went with Taryn? And not Jean? Jean remembers.] I liked it then, and I figured most people haven't seen it here. [She chuckles, amused by her own frugalness in a money-less society. She has changed it up a little, by wearing the gold and red-gemmed necklace Remy gave her for Christmas, at least.]

[He smiles and places a hand on her shoulder to lead her out toward the floor. He hopes it doesn't seem too forward, but she's about to get danced with, since now there's no Duncan or Taryn or evil mutant catastrophe to stop them.]

I still like it, too. And I'm really digging the necklace.

[Just... don't tell him where you got it, Jean. His fragile male ego can't take it.]

[Don't jinx it. There could ALWAYS be an evil mutant catastrophe. This place is owned at least in half by Wanda Maximoff, after all.]

Aww... thanks. It was custom made for me, for Christmas. [She lets herself be lead to the dance floor, and will happily partake in some up-beat dancing with Scott, all smiles.] I thought it went well with the dress and my hair.

[He starts grooving to the music, though as always, he's a little restrained and staying in his comfort zone. Still, he's pretty relaxed, at least by Scott Summers standards.]

It does. [Not that he can judge the colors, of course. But at least he sees her hair pretty much the way that it really is.] So... what do you think? How do you like this place?

Well, [Commencing dancing with Scott! Her dancing is a little more free and open than his, but she's more or less matching him for style, keeping it comfortable so they can continue to chat, if they want.] It's full of lots of positive energy, and a good place to meet new people, as well as hang out with old friends. All in all, I'd say it's a welcome addition! I'm surprised, honestly, that Wanda had anything to do with it's conception. I would have never pegged her for the type.

[He loosens up just a little bit, trying to match Jean's energy. It's always easier for him to cut loose with her around, after all.]

Well, as far as the Brotherhood goes, you could do a lot worse than Wanda. And it's like you said... here, people don't hate mutants. Without that hate, there's no reason for the Brotherhood to even exist in the first place.

You would think. I certainly think. But Wanda avoids me like the plague. I half thought she wouldn't let me into the club tonight. She seems to have a real problem with the X-men, still, I'm afraid. [Poor, misguided girl.]

Really? She was friendly enough to me. I think being away from the rest of the Brotherhood is doing her some good. [In fact, it feels somewhat similar to the situation when they first met Rogue.]

[Jean's eyebrow cocks, ever so slightly.] Really? Friendly? I've gotten nothing but a cold shoulder from her. ... When was this?

It was when I first showed up. We actually talked for a bit. She was trying to help me get acquainted. [He thinks nothing of mentioning it, of course.]

Hn. [Continuing to dance, but feeling a wee bit moody, now. Get acquainted with what, she wonders. She saw Wanda when she first came in. The only way that dress was staying on was with magic, she was sure of it. Who was she showing off for?] You've already danced with her tonight, I presume?

What? No, I haven't even talked to her tonight. I hung out a little with Kurt and Rogue, but that was it. [She'd been all smiles just a few seconds ago. Why did the mention of Wanda sour her mood so much?

Let it not be said that Scott Summers possessed the mutant ability to understand the opposite sex in any way, shape, or form.]

Why not? I mean-- if you're getting along so well. She's dancing with everyone else. [So are you Jean. Calm down.]

[His dancing motions come to a stop, his face molding into a stern expression.]

What's that supposed to mean? [Said a little defensively. Perhaps more than is appropriate for the situation.]

[Jean also stops dancing, her own expression going innocent, as if she hadn't been needling him.] What's-- what supposed to mean? Scott?

It's... never mind. Don't worry about it.

[He tries to go back to dancing, but his moves are a lot more subdued than usual.]

[Jean continues dancing, because she's not about to show that she's upset in any regard.]

If you're getting through to her, you should keep trying. [A little bit cool because recruitment is usually her job, and also... everything else.] Just because we're stuck here doesn't mean we should give up on helping others.

[He continues dancing, but whatever energy they had before is obviously tempered. He can't help but notice that she seems aggravated about something, but he decides to keep quiet about it.]

Oh-- absolutely. And it would be so much better for her, too, really.

[Aggravated? Her? Noooo. Wherever could he be getting that from? She's having a GOOD TIME, clearly.

[He cocks an eyebrow at her, unsure why she seems to be giving him the "buzz off" sign in neon letters. His dancing slows to a halt.]

I'm... gonna go get a drink. You need anything?

I think I'm good, dancing for now. [She continues to play it cool. It occurs to her tha t maybe she was putting more importance on this night than is strictly fair to Scott, without telling him everything, but... That would be too much of a conversation to have, now.

Alright. I'll catch up with you later. [He can't help but feel a little frustrated. Something's bothering her, clearly, but she obviously doesn't feel like telling him.

It's too much to think about. He walks to the bar and sits down, rubbing his forehead. Women give him such a headache.]
