Nobody cares if you can't dance well. Just get up and dance.
Who: Wanda Maxiomff, Kate Bishop, + Anyone who wants to show up
What: Club HQ's grand opening
When: January 31st
Where: HQ (Across the road from house 14)
Summary: Kate and Wanda finally unveil their Nightclub.
Rating: PG to PG-13.
[After a lot of preparation, opening night for Luceti's newest club is finally here. The music is loud and insistent, the kind where you have to shout a bit to be heard above the noise. Flashing, moving lights above reveal the purple decor, mostly devoid of chairs, and plenty of room to dance. A well stocked bar should be able to provide liquid courage to anyone too nervous to shake there groove-thang sober, while a patio out back affords a space for anyone wanting to have more intimate (or just quieter) interactions. There's also a coat room, for anyone looking for a warmer spot for intimate interactions.
The doors open at seven, and will stay open until two am-- plenty of time to drink, dance, talk and generally have a good time. When the DJs aren't spinning, a house mix is put on, so there's never a quiet moment.]

The console is similar to some of the technology in my world, but the overall technology is far more advanced.
[And because it has to be asked:]
Rapture?
no subject
Ah...the city I come from. In the sixties, under the North Atlantic. Technology there was mostly gears and machines. Nothing with circuits or anything like the battle dome. I understood those, I could take them apart and put them back together easily, whether it was a turret or a radio. But this stuff...
[She just shrugs.]

You're from an underwater city?
no subject
Yes. No one else has ever heard of it though so I think it might be unique.
[Well, except for Elizabeth but that was a mess.]

But it was...impressive. The city itself.
no subject
[A city under the sea, built into the forties and lasting into the sixties, assuming Earth is a remarkable feat.]
You mentioned the Atlantic, but are you from a version of Earth?
no subject
Yes. As far as I can tell, a fairly ordinary earth...except for Rapture.

[Ginia smiles and pours up a glass of water for Eleanor. Staying hydrated always helps the following morning.]
I imagine it'd be beautiful down there.
no subject
Water?
[And then right, the subject.]
Oh, it is! Well. It was. There was a pod of whales that would live near my apartment every spring, I would watch them through the windows when I was little.
no subject
[A pod of whales, that would have been a sight to see.]
Can people freely travel between cities on land and Rapture?
no subject
No. Well. Maybe, before I was born. But when I was a child, you had to be invited, had to be necessary in some way.
When I was older, no one would have wanted to come to Rapture.
no subject
What happened?
no subject
[She's a little jaded for being seventeen.]
no subject
And a man and a lighthouse. And a war at an underwater city, with probably limited resources, ways in and out, it sounds horrific.]Sorry to hear that.
no subject
Me too. But it didn't really matter. Rapture was awful anyway. Except for the view.
[A beat.]
Where are you from?
no subject
[It's still a little weird thinking of multiple versions of Earth. It's also a little disconcerting not being able to find Davenport on some maps of the United States.]
Small city, not sure what to say about it.
[A lie; she knows what there is to say about Davenport and her world, but it's nothing she likes talking about without being prompted.]
no subject
[She'd dreamed of being from somewhere normal.]
no subject
no subject
[Not that she has much experience with it, really.]

Rapture didn't have a lot of crime. It was...too contained for it, I think.
And we don't have much here, either, now that I'm thinking about it.

[Because how different would things be if supplies were more limited? If things were doled out in rations, or if they had to purchase things with money? Would classes be formed between those with a lot of money and those with very little, or would be people more willing to help each other out?]

When Ginia answers, she veers toward honesty.]
It depends on how long it lasts and what people do. If people begin storing food and growing food, a food shortage could be manageable. There are animals in the woods to hunt too and plenty of water.
