[After a lot of preparation, opening night for Luceti's newest club is finally here. The music is loud and insistent, the kind where you have to shout a bit to be heard above the noise. Flashing, moving lights above reveal the purple decor, mostly devoid of chairs, and plenty of room to dance. A well stocked bar should be able to provide liquid courage to anyone too nervous to shake there groove-thang sober, while a patio out back affords a space for anyone wanting to have more intimate (or just quieter) interactions. There's also a coat room, for anyone looking for a warmer spot for intimate interactions.

The doors open at seven, and will stay open until two am-- plenty of time to drink, dance, talk and generally have a good time. When the DJs aren't spinning, a house mix is put on, so there's never a quiet moment.]

The wings...sometimes, I almost forget they're there. Then they make sure I remember.

Yeah, tell me about it. [She leans back slightly, to get a better look, glancing at his back.] You've got a really nice two-tone look going for you. That's cool.

Uh...thanks. Pretty sure the Malnosso did it as some stupid joke, though.

Oh... sorry. I thought they were-- pretty. [She smiles, apologetically.] I think you'll find, I'm a bit of an insufferable optimist. Always trying to see the best in things.

You're talking to an insufferable realist, sorry to say. [He says this with a hint of a smile - joking, although it's true.]

I only say it's a stupid joke because, well... "The Wings of Freedom", the insignia of the military division I serve in-- [hooking a thumb over his shoulder] --it basically looks like what you see sticking out of my back. So it's a little bit of an overkill when I'm in uniform, you can imagine.

Oh wow. ... Yeah, I can imagine. [She considers, briefly, what it would be like if she had showed up and had a big "X" tattooed across her face. Probably less than thrilling.]

So, a realist, eh? Does that mean you do afford for good things, occasionally?

It's not that good things don't happen. It's just that...you shouldn't expect so much, because nothing is guaranteed.

Expect the worst, hope for the best, then. [She nods. She knows several people who have that sort of outlook.]

Sounds about right. If anything goes well, any small success, my jaw will be dropping in amazement, to be honest, and when it all goes wrong...well, I'll try not to be too disappointed. [But there are some disappointments that are difficult to blunt.]

Well... I consider meeting you as going well. But I'm also prone to celebrating the small victories, so. [She smiles, playfully. ]
