Summary: Kate and Wanda finally unveil their Nightclub.

[After a lot of preparation, opening night for Luceti's newest club is finally here. The music is loud and insistent, the kind where you have to shout a bit to be heard above the noise. Flashing, moving lights above reveal the purple decor, mostly devoid of chairs, and plenty of room to dance. A well stocked bar should be able to provide liquid courage to anyone too nervous to shake there groove-thang sober, while a patio out back affords a space for anyone wanting to have more intimate (or just quieter) interactions. ~~There's also a coat room, for anyone looking for a warmer spot for intimate interactions.~~

The doors open at seven, and will stay open until two am-- plenty of time to drink, dance, talk and generally have a good time. When the DJs aren't spinning, a house mix is put on, so there's never a quiet moment.]

Aww. Sorry. You're right. I should only ever be nice, prim and proper. No good could come from anything else. [She continues to grin, while flagging the current bartender down, pointedly not making eye contact, but never stopping her 1000 watt smile.]

Now who's puttin' words into who's mouth? I be hardly the person to ever advise 'nyone to act 'prim 'nd proper'.

Mais, ya be right on the second part, but who says bein' bad is so wrong? [Talking of, once they do have the bartender's attention, orders shot of tequila and a refill on his coke and bourbon.]

[And for Jean, another Shirley Temple.] Oh-- it's all I ever heard growing up. Good things come to those who deserve them, and all that. So tell me, Remy, [Emphasizing his name as her drink arrives.] What's being bad have to offer? [She pops the cherry in her mouth hole, stem and all.]

Femmes, riches, fun. It be pretty good, over all. Mais, hate to break it to ya Jeanie, always someone out there expectin' ya to live up to their expectations. [Thank you JeanLuc. On that thought, Remy down the shot as it's place in front of him, tipping the glass upside down on the bar top before taking a sip off his other drink.]

Why better to say screw it all 'nd do what ya want to do.

Hmm, hate to break it to you, but femmes don't hold much sway over me. Now, hommes on the other hand-- if I'm remembering my French correctly at least. [She removes the stem from her mouth, having managed to turn it into a heart-shaped knot, and sets it on the same napkin her drink rests on.]

Also-- you do realize you just described being bad as being "Pretty good, over all"? [She laughs, lightly.]

[Noticed and noted of that little skill, Jean. Also at the fact she was showing it off... Well, Remy wouldn't turn any possibilities down, she's a belle fille after all.]

Mmm, I have to wonder, which came first-- The skill, or the lifestyle. Maybe you should try being "good".... it can be rewarding, you know.

[Pretty sure he wouldn't be allowed in the X-Men anyways. Although, he is sure Xavier is loaded, could afford his normal contract price.]

[She's uncertain if the "Sunglasses at night" refrence is to his own fashion choices this evening, or to one Scott Summers. Her expression sours for just a split second, before she pushes it away. She's currently annoyed with Scott. Now is not the time to be thinking about him. Or whatever stupid things he was doing with Wanda. ]

Mine is navy-and-green, I'm sure we could find something to your colour pallet. And there's not a one of those things on your list you can't have being good. I promise.

Fine, make mine magenta and navy then. [As if.]

[Raising a brow at her point, Remy shrugged as he continued on his drink.] Oui but missin' one thin', [Before leveling his gaze at her.] That I want to play the hero. People have expectations with them, like ya'll have piled. You'll have to be better than others, to be role models for other mutants, no matter what merde is thrown ya way. Donno if I can do that, turn the other cheek 'nd all.

[Flirting aside, Jean finds that response honest and surprisingly refreshing. She gives him a kind look.] Not everyone is that self aware. You may be more of a "good guy" than you realize, with an attitude like that.

[She finishes off her drink.]

Magenta?

[Remy quickly brushed that comment off. No he wasn't, but he wasn't going to share why he wasn't a good guy.]

Quoi? I look great in it, mais I look great in most things. [He grinned over at her.]

< Probably look good out of most things, too. > [The voice in his head is Jean's, and is followed up by a spoken comment, as if the telepathic comment hadn't happened.]

Yes, but most men don't even know the word "Magenta" let alone wear it.

[Freezing for a moment at the unspoken comment, Remy continued to take the sip of his drink he had started, before sitting it back down on the bar top. Well, lets thrown subtly out of the door then, huh? He liked that approach.]

I ain't most men. < 'nd 'm sure you do too, cherie.> [Would she pick that up? He wasn't too sure on how telepathy worked with those who actually respected others thought space. < But since you're a femme of science, 'm sure ya prefer to test thin's out to be sure, rather than go by word of mouth.>

[How telepathy worked was pretty much unique to various individuals. In Jean's case, thinking at her had a very different effect than just thinking. Thinking of her had a similar though lessened reaction. It was sort of like a bell going off in her head. "hey-- someone's thinking at you, do you want to listen?"

Clearly right now she does.

As far as she's concerned, she's still being subtle. After all-- that comment was unspoken.]

So I've noticed.

[Carrying on a spoken and unspoken conversation at the same time is a talent Jean has cultivated for a few years now. Not everyone can do it.]

< Funny... Your mouth is what I'm interested in. >

[On the other hand, who really needs subtlety.]

[Huh, so it did work. Good to know.]

Ain't no fun in bein' stuck as one of the flock now.

[The duel conversation isn't as practiced for Remy, since he lacks the telepathy ability, but he's more or less keeping up, without too many pauses.]

< Well, hate to keep a belle femme waitin', 'specially after such a request.>

So, you continue on, being the black sheep of whatever flock you're in? ... Sounds a little exhausting, to me.

[Jean is very secretly pleased with that response. Lord knows she never got anything like that from Duncan.]

< A shame we're still at this club, then. >

Lets change that, shall we? [Screw telepathy, since going to be leaving this scene anyway. Finishing off the last of his drink in one long swallow, Remy twisted on his seat until he was back on his feet, offering a hand to her to let her stand then resting it once again on the small of her back.]

[Glad he came along for the opening after all.]
