There ain't no fear, there ain't no hope
Who: Ginia Solana (
whiskytraitorfirefight, Hatake Kakashi (
ura_no_ura), OPEN to spectators
What: Sparring and feeling out skills
When: 8 AM, Monday 02/10
Where: The Battle Dome
Summary: Ginia agrees to spar with Kakashi so he can gauge her skills.
Rating: PG-13 (Violence, language)
[As agreed, Ginia is in the lobby of the Battle Dome a few minutes before eight AM. She stretches lightly and paces around the room, limbering up and focusing. Should set up a room or was that something he wanted to do? She mulls lightly over before leaving the room to his decision.
Her mind is focused, but she's leery. She knows this is a test, that all she can do is show what she knows, and everything else falls into place. It's not a matter of how good a fighter he is, it's all insignificant. It still feels like she's walking into a trap.]

He's already set up an arena based on Traverse Town, Destiny Islands, and The Grid as well. All suitable options, but when Riku finally gets to inputting the commands, neither of these worlds appears. Instead, Riku treats Kakashi to something a bit more regal.
Between the hanging chandelier, the golden fountain molded into a monster's face, and pillars lining the walls, it's certainly no dark alley. Metallic platforms drift overhead, near the edges of a rounded balcony that sits level with the chandelier. The ceiling stretches up for what seems like miles, which is a good thing, given what Riku's got in mind. And, after tinkering with a few more buttons, a swarm of strange creatures.
With a snap of his fingers, a Keyblade flashes into his grip, and he shoots Kakashi a smirk.]
You might want to step back.
[It's the only warning he gives before barreling into the fray, encircling himself with monstrous, colorful balloons. Balloons that immediately rocket toward the simulated Heartless and explode, reducing the Defenders to blackened mist.
Kind of a silly spell, but Riku's found it one of the more useful tricks he's picked up.]

Though he's been in some imperial courts and palaces, and has seen some rather impressive building structures before, he's never seen anything so ornate. Everything seems to glisten with a sheen of gold, cold marble flowing into gilded molding. Water pouring out of an intricately carved golden face. The ostentatious surroundings are almost a bit overwhelming, and Kakashi is truly impressed at just how high the ceiling above them stretches, wondering if such structures really do exist in the world where Riku's from.
The swarm of strange creatures were truly monstrous, unlike anything he's seen in his life. Riku's attack was even more surprising. And beautiful. Kakashi wasn't sure what to really make of the large, colorful, translucent jewel-like structures that encircled the enemies before exploding. It was almost like watching a fireworks show, and when he pulled his hitai-ate up to study it with his Sharingan, he found it just as impossible to analyze with the Sharingan, as they appeared to be balls of energy that just exploded.
He's still not sure what to make of the attack once it's over, though it certainly does look powerful, and must be, as it vanquished all of the artificial enemy. It's certainly unlike any power Kakashi's ever seen before. ]
Impressive.
[ Said after a moment, as he watches the mist slowly dissipate. ]

[Grinning, he dashes up the stairway to his left, crouching as two of the Wyverns dive bomb him, spinning like torpedoes. Just as they get within two yards of him, he kicks off into the air, jumping not once, but twice. His Keyblade slices across their snouts, and he flickers out of sight, reappearing behind its buddy. Both Wyverns freeze in midair. Three more Defenders materialize, and he flashes across the room, slicing and freezing each and every one with his Dark Splicer attack.
Once he lands, Riku holds his Keyblade up over his head, taking it in both hands. His body glows blue, and he zips across the room at a blazing speed, assaulting the Heartless with his weapon outstretched. His Dark Aura attack ends when he floats up, slams his weapon into the ground, and geysers of blue energy burst up from the floor.
The remaining Defenders go up in smoke, and for the moment, the room's clear. Standing with a slight hunch, Riku wipes some sweat off his forehead and props his weapon against his shoulder.]

The speed of the attack is also extremely impressive, especially with each charge.
Conceivably, the only way to even fight against such an attack would be to avoid at all costs, as Kakashi's not entirely sure if fire or lightning would be able to deflect energy like that.
Once Riku's done, Kakashi raises a hand and pulls his hitai-ate back down. ]

That'd be darkness. All I gotta do is channel it. Focus hard, and let the darkness inside me rise up so I can use its power.
[But, it's not quite that simple, and he'd be foolish to leave it at that.]
Thing is, I only got this far after nearly losing myself to the darkness. It took me more than a year to come to grips with it, and I guess you could say I've built up an immunity to it. A small prize after all the stupid stunts I pulled...

What do you mean by "darkness"?

[He pauses, running a hand through his bangs. Darkness is one of those things so ingrained in Riku's head by now that sometimes it's easy to forget how most people here haven't dealt with it in the same way. Concepts of hearts filled with light and shadows might just be abstract concepts to some.
Well, what's he really got to lose? If he takes this step by step, maybe they'll stay on the same page.]
Well, where I'm from, every heart's made up of light and darkness, and darkness usually manifests itself based on negativity. A heart filled with rage, jealousy, and hate's more likely to succumb to the darkness. Some people even embrace it, since it's got a few perks. Portals, increased strength, the ability to control these monsters called the Heartless...
Personally, I see it as a double-edged sword.

[One of his hands clenches into a fist, and he clamps his jaw shut for a moment, breathing out through his nose.]
And for the longest time, I thought that darkness was something I needed to suppress. Thing is, that only made it worse.

So how do you control it?

[He grips at the front of his jacket, cracking a wry smile.]
I found a way to take that darkness and trap it in my heart-- inside my light. Guess you could think of it like a balancing act-- I'm staring that darkness in the face, but I'm not letting it suck me in. Xehanort even says I've got an immunity now.
[And considering all his hardships, he's more than willing to accept that.]

[Which makes the heart a perpetual balancing act. Really, it's a wonder there aren't creatures that exist from too much light, but maybe that just proves that darkness is the less stable of the two.]
Anyway, you want me to keep going? We've barely even scratched the surface of what I can do.
maybe ffwd him through all the things? XD
By all means, continue.
That was the plan :) I don't wanna hold this up forever, after all.
Flaming meteors crash into the floor. Heartless stop, frozen in time, slow down, writhe from rings of magical poison, and from time to time, Riku disappears, courtesy of Vanish spells.
Aside from magic, he slashes, thrusts, and hurls his Keyblade, striking foes an parrying their blows. Sometimes he even cloaks his weapon in fire, lightning, and other elements before launching physical strikes...
By the time he's finished his demonstration and the enemies clear from the room, Riku stops, panting, and wipes some sweat off his forehead. Hopefully that'll be a clear enough demo for Kakashi's liking.]
