Snow Fight!

Who: EVERYONE.
What: Snowball free-for-all.
When: February 25th, during the Harvest Moon Valentine's Event!
Where: The road and the area between Houses 16, 19, and 27
Summary: Who knows how it started, but there's a war being waged in the street- and you've just been tagged a few times by a snowball. Join in on the fun, seek revenge, or just try to get out of the fray! Maybe make a new friend or two, you never know what will happen with those Heart Meters!

It was a calm day until someone decided to be a little mischievous. But accidents do happen, and one snowball lead to another until a full out war started in the middle of the village. Everyone for themselves, pelting each other, dragging the poor passerby into the chaos with either a well aimed or not-so-well aimed snowball.

[ Snivy uses her vine whip to defend herself from the snowball Pansage threw at her before putting her hands on her "hips". You have to do better than that Pansage!

Ash laughs at Cilan's response to the snowball that was thrown at him as he scoops up more snow. ]

C'mon Cilan! Join in!

[ And with that throws the snow once he packs it into a snowball. ]

[...What if Pansage suddenly gets the idea to use Dig to go underground and come out somewhere else that he can use as a spot to throw snowballs from? What then?

As for Cilan...]

...Well if you insist, then it's retaliation time! ['Cause now he's gathering some snow so that he can launch a snowball back at Ash!]

[ Oh. You really want to play it that way, Pansage? Snivy has a team member she can get on her side but she'll play "fair". She'll wait until you're out of the ground and use Attract on you.

Which actually isn't fair at all but to each their own.

Ash sees it coming and ducks when Cilan launches the snowball at him. ]

Gotta do better than that Cilan! [ Have one thrown at you! ]

[Snivy that is so not cool, you can't just use your cute feminine charms like that...but gosh, you're so pretty I guess it's okay to--no wait, don't give into it Pansage, fight it! Attempting to avoid falling for the Attract, but hey, at least it's keeping his attention from throwing snowballs at her for a second or two...

Meanwhile, Cilan manages to duck from the snowball that time as he's leaning down to gather more snow.]

Then how about this? [He throws a snowball at Ash, followed almost immediately by a second one that he made while kneeled down. Can you dodge both of them?]

[ Of course she can! And while Pansage is trying to fight it she's going to scoop up some more snow with her vine and throw it at the grass monkey.

Meanwhile Ash dodges the first snowball but gets hits on the shoulder with the other one. ]

Ah! Well, can you take on Charizard?

[ And as if it was on cue Charizard comes flying above Cilan and... dumps some snow ]

Huh? [Cilan looks up in time to see Charizard...and the pile of snow that falls down on top of him as a result. Oops. Just...give him a second to wipe some of the snow off of his face once he recovers.]

M--my, that was an even more chilling taste... [Taking on Charizard would be difficult, and then there's Ash and Snivy too, so right now he's sort of out-numbered 3 to 2? So Cilan takes out another pokeball.] I guess I should try to even the playing field...

[He sends out Crustle. While Crustle likely won't be able to toss any snowballs, it would be handy for potentially hiding behind, which Crustle certainly doesn't seem to mind to try to shield Cilan from any snowballs from Ash while he attempts to toss some snowballs back at him and Charizard.

Meanwhile, Pansage has to wipe some snow off itself too--it avoided the Attract, but it ended up getting hit with a snowball again. So now it's climbing up a tree and grabbing some snow clinging to the branches to form snowballs to throw back at Snivy in retaliation as well!]

[ hmmm how to get past Cilan's wall of defense. He and Charizard are probably going to have to work together on this. Ash does his best to dodge Cilan's snowballs (getting hit by one or two) while collecting some of his own before hopping onto Charizard. Time for an aerial attack!

Throwing from above huh Pansage? Snivy can compete with that but first is defending herself from the snowballs. She uses her vine whips to the best of her ability but it was only a matter of time before Pansage finally landed a hit.

Snivy is displeased. ]

[Aww man, Cilan doesn't have any flying Pokemon that could be used for aerial attacks. The best he can do is try to throw snowballs at where Ash and Charizard are in the air, though Pansage may have slightly better luck than him at trying to do that, since it's still sitting in that tree and is thus higher up off the ground than he is right now.

And hey, since it finally managed to get a snowball to hit Snivy, it tries to use Snivy's displeasure with getting hit (and hopefully being somewhat distracted by it for a second or two) to try to toss a few at Ash and Charizard as well so that it can help its trainer...]

[ Charizard flies a bit higher as Cilan and Pansage tries to throw snowballs at the two careful to where the snowballs don't hit his tail either. Meanwhile Ash is throwing snowballs down at Cilan trying to hit him and not Crustle.

Meanwhile Snivy is distracted for a bit shaking off the snow that landed on her and huffs while she waits for a good time to counterattack. ]

[Don't worry Charizard, Cilan and his Pokemon would never intentionally try to hit your tail--they do at least seem to try not to aim where the snowball might potentially get too close to it if they end up missing their target. Cilan's main target anyway is the person on Charizard's back--when he's not potentially ducking down behind Crustle, he'll try to hit Ash from where he is down below. Some of his throws might be a little too high or low, but he does his best to correct his aim where needed.

Although, unless you're having Charizard move low enough to the ground or trees for you to grab more, you're gonna run out of snow to use eventually, Ash...]

[ Sadly he does not have Charizard doing that so it was only a matter of time until he completely ran out of snowballs. He doesn't have any way to shield himself so he just has Charizard fly low to the ground and jumps off before quickly trying to make a few snowballs with the help of Pikachu who had been on the ground rolling up some snow for him.

Hurry Pikachu Hurry they have a friend to attack with snowballs! ]

[Pansage will be trying to throw some snowballs down at Ash and Pikachu from where it is in the tree, before jumping over to another tree close by Cilan when that tree it's been sitting in finally seems to be devoid of usable snow to throw. Cilan of course is still sort of sticking to his strategy of working together with Crustle the Snow Blocker to try to toss some snowballs back at the two of them when possible. (Why change the strategy when it hasn't proven broken yet?)

He could always send out a third Pokemon to even the playing field now too, but...well, Stunfisk...that might take some creative thinking there on how to utilize it for the purposes of a snowball fight...]

[ While everything seemed to have been focusing on Ash and Pikachu trying to gather more snowballs Snivy had recovered from the hit it took from Pansage. It had made it's way to the trees and found a spot where Cilan was in view and launched a Snowball at him.

Meanwhile Pikachu is trying to dodge the snowballs that Pansage is launching while Ash continues to pick up snowballs. Though it's easier said than done so eventually Charizard stands in front of Ash and Pikachu as a blockade. ] >

[Oops, Cilan actually forgot about Snivy for a second there, so the snowball comes as a surprise. Pansage notices this and decides to try to refocus on Snivy again, throwing a snowball or two from the tree its sitting at towards the tree Snivy is sitting in.

Cilan, on the other hand, tries to focus on finding a spot where he can try to hit Ash from where he's behind Charizard. Easier said than done, since Charizard is pretty big, so quite a few of these snowballs will likely end up hitting it instead. He's still got Crustle as his own blockade though, so at least they're even on that front...]

[ While it's Vine Whip is still out Snivy uses it to deflect the incoming snowballs from Pansage. Now that the grass monkey is focusing on her again she'll do the same. The next snowballs she sends is directed towards Pansage.

Meanwhile Charizard continues to block Ash from any snowballs Cilan might be trying to throw. It's tempting to just use fire against this snow but it's belly can take them well enough. Meanwhile Ash just focuses on gathering more snowballs; he's preparing to go on another air raid! ]

[Pansage is still doing its best to dodge and toss some snowballs back at Snivy, but after a moment or two, the snowballs coming from Cilan to throw towards Ash eventually cease for a moment--it seems he's noticed that there hasn't been as many coming from Ash towards him yet. He builds some more snowballs to use, but for now he doesn't throw them yet as he risks peering around from behind Crustle to try to see what's going on with Ash's side.]

Ash? You're not thinking about giving up already, are you? [He doesn't necessarily mean it as a taunt, but more like trying to get an idea of what Ash is planning to do next.]

[ Snivy does the same right back at Pansage. And while the Grass Pokemon snowball fight continues over there Ash pokes his head around and grins. ]

Of course not! Ready t' go Charizard?

[ Charizard pulls a thumbs up as Ash climbs onto the flying Pokemon. Time for round two of aerial attack! ]

An aerial assault again? [It's probably a good thing that Cilan stopped trying to throw anymore and instead stockpiled a couple of them, otherwise he might be in deep trouble here.] This is certainly a familiar flavor...

[But okay, at least he's got some snowballs that he can try to throw back at them? Though granted, Ash does have a better advantage now, since they could fly up high enough to hit Cilan even with his Crustle blockade.]

[ HEY it worked the first time so a second time might work just as well right?

Ash and Charizard do the same as they did before: throw down snowballs while Charizard avoids or blocks the snowballs coming at him. And he may or may not cheat once or twice and use his flames o o p s ]

[Wow Charizard nobody likes cheaters.]

Fire, huh? In that case... [Finally, out comes Stunfisk, who takes its place on top of Crustle's rock for now. If Charizard attempts to use its flames, then Stunfisk will use Scald to douse the fire if necessary--not to attack Charizard with it, but mainly to keep that cheating there to a minimum. ^^;;]

[ oops sorry not sorry.

But great now all the Pokemon are out. Time for a full fledged Pokemon snowball war! Charizard isn't happy about scald countering its flames but hey as long as he can still keep snowballs away from Ash as his trainer continues to try to throw them down at Cilan and his Pokemon. ]

[As long as this doesn't turn into an actual Pokemon battle, everything should be fine? Pansage continues to do its best to keep Snivy distracted from hitting Cilan or the other Pokemon, trying to remain as a solitary opponent for it to contend with. Crustle will keep up being a barricade while Cilan tries to throw snowballs back at Ash and Charizard.

Stunfisk, much like Crustle, lacks the dexterity to throw snowballs like how Cilan and Pansage can, but...well. Cilan will try to give it something to do other than just dousing flames, so if Ash is particularly observant, he might notice that Cilan is occasionally stacking one or two snowballs on the back part of the mud fish's tail while throwing some of his own, until...]

Okay Stunfisk, let's try out a new flavor to add to our strategy! [Stunfisk then proceeds to curl its tail fin back so that it can launch some of the snowballs that had been stacked on its tail upwards towards Ash and Charizard--it looks like Stunfisk is attempting to be a makeshift catapult of sorts. There's no guarantee that all or even any of them will hit them, but it does manage to toss them upward towards them high enough to be a distraction at least?]

[ Yep. Everything will be totally fine.

Snivy seems to be perfectly okay with only have Pansage as an opponent. Getting into that mess that is happening over there? Not happening. Not when flames and scalds and whatever else is being thrown on top of snowballs. She'll just stick to vine whip and make attract again if Pansage gets any bright ideas.

Ash didn't expect the catapult of snowballs from Stunfisk. Charizard, trying not to just cheat and use flamethrower on all the incoming snow dives down in order to avoid them.

To say the last it certainly works as a distraction and they're much closer to the ground now ]

[Pansage doesn't have Vine Whip (...despite the fact the game counterpart did WHICH IS KIND OF WEIRD NOW THAT I THINK ABOUT IT BUT THAT'S NEITHER HERE NOR THERE) and most of its other moves would end up turning this into an actual Pokemon battle, so no worries there, Pansage is playing fair at the moment. Any tricks it's got mostly relies on its ability to quickly climb up to different branches or hop over onto branches attached to other trees to throw snow from instead of remaining in one place for too long.]

Excellent work, Stunfisk. Now, let this be the taste of success! [It looks like their distraction worked against Ash and Charizard. Now they are low enough for Cilan to (hopefully) be able to hit them properly now with his own snowballs once they dive down to avoid the ones Stunfisk had thrown up towards them.]

[ Well since Pansage is playing fair so will Snivy only using her vine whip to toss the snowballs (because it certainly wouldn't be able to with her little leaf like arms). Snivy tries to keep up with Pansage's mobility by trying to predict where the monkey was going to go next since she's not really mobile herself unless needed to dodge the incoming snowballs.

And speaking of mobility Ash and Charizard were certainly low enough to the ground for Cilan to hit them properly. In fact one of them was aimed well enough to hit Ash in the face, causing him to make a 'bwah!' sound and almost fall off his ride. ]
