[She has indeed been stuffing her face. This food is like paradise to Norma, when she's had to survive on slim pickings from her oh-so generous Malnosso hosts the last month. In between bites, looking a hot mess in all honesty, she glances up at stares at Aang. It takes her a moment to form an answer, but after chugging down another gulp of her own peppermint cocoa to help the food go down, she grins large and wide.

Oh...oh, wow. She never realized just how much she missed this weird, arrow-headed baldy. And how freaking happy she is to see him. And--oh, that's just cute. Smiling sheepishly, color littering her face very slowly, Norma takes the small bouquet and giggles.]

Awww...thanks! Jeez, I didn't think I'd be so well received coming back! But that's super duper sweet of you.

[Fireworks... The only thing Marco can picture for that is a bonfire. Will it be like that? He hopes so. Bonfires are always good fun. The spreading warmth, the flickering flames, the way people all gather around them...

Still, he'd rather spend some time with Jean in private first. The waterside should be perfect for that. He casts a quick glance around to see if anyone's watching, but considering they're moving away from the bustling festival, there's very few people to be found in the near vicinity. After a moment of hesitation, he carefully reaches out to take Jean's hand.]

[Rin isn't usually much for festivals, but Nagisa's enthusiasm is catching, and he he finds himself enjoying the fun despite himself. He's got a skewer of barbecue chicken in one hand, and a cup of a plain chocolate concoction in the other, and he's wandering around just trying to avoid getting pulled in to too much trouble.

A small, unusually soft smile is on his face as he sits back and watches the excitement. This reminds him of some of the festivals at home.]

Not your fucking darlin'. [ The retort is almost automatic. ] But no. No thanks to you.

[ She glances around, then sits down beside him with an undignified thud, suddenly feeling like she needs to rest her legs for a moment. A little bit of hot chocolate sloshes over the edge of her mug, and she raises it to her lips to take a drink. ]

[Norma is definitely leaning closer. And while her invading the personal space of others isn't exactly uncommon for her, they way she's going about it this time around is far different. She's overly cuddly, overly clingy, and her bubbly happiness has been amped up to eleven. Eventually, she even brushed up against Fenimore's side and begins to hold onto her arm.]

Oooh yeah! The food's awesome! C'mon, FenFen, I'll show you which ones are the best!! It'll be a date just between me and you! [Tugging on your arm now, girly.] And we can play games and stuff, too!

[ The booth, Kakashi means. He's not entirely sure just how much food was accessible Levi's world, or what kinds, but maybe a little indulgence of taste buds wouldn't hurt. After all, they're surrounded by food in the excess here. Seems it'd be a shame to waste it. ]

[It felt like an eternity before she grinned, and once she did that accompanied by a positive reaction, his own grin grew wider, and his cheeks flushed more.]

I'm really glad you like it, Norma. I thought you should have something nice and pretty. How - how are you?

[Food was limited in many ways inside the walls. Not just the amount, but variety and also taste. Given that certain spices were extremely difficult to obtain, the masses generally had to make due without, and that of course included the Survey Corps.

But Levi shrugs. He doesn't have anything better to do.]

Sure.

You know, you could at least pretend to act a little more enthusiastic.

[ Kakashi's teasing a little as he nods for them to start heading into the crowd towards the food booth just a little walk away, featuring familiar festival treats from his world. ]

If it's worth being enthusiastic about, then I'll expend the energy.

[says it somewhat flatly, but he's following anyway. There isn't much that he's recognized, but a few things look like they might be from somewhere like what he knows. Regardless, this place is definitely a lot more...colorful.]

[ Kakashi makes an amused sound as he dips his hands into his pockets. They stroll past quite a number of booths, all offering various snacks and goodies from different worlds -- or so Kakashi assumes, as some of these treats are ones he's never seen in his life. ]

Are you ever enthusiastic about anything?

[ The question is lightly asked as they approach the booth he had in mind. ]

[Levi just gives Kakashi a sidelong look.]

Perhaps you should ask Erwin.

[he's joking. maybe. (not really).]

It's entertaining enough.

[watching people, anyway.]

Ah, but he's not here right now.

[ Said as the distance between them and the booth finally closes. Before them is a spread of different foods, both sweet and savory. Little, fragrant fish-shaped taiyaki, perfectly browned and filled with azuki and custard, sit at the end of the table, still warm and fresh from the press. Takoyaki and yakitori sit on small grills, alongside strips of ikayaki and kara-age on skewers. There's even a flat griddle, upon which okonomiyaki and yakitori is being made.

Kakashi's not sure if Levi would actually enjoy any of this, but he reaches out to pick up a skewer of yakitori, assuming that grilled chicken is probably the safest bet, and hands it to Levi. ]

He's around.

[Levi accepts the skewer - it doesn't look too strange. He gives it a sniff, and then bites off one end. It's - really good, actually. His tastes run simple by necessity, so it doesn't take much to impress him really.

But he finishes the bite, swallows.]

Not bad.

[yeah the rest of it is gone in seconds.]

[He has heard that these fireworks happen up in the sky, so he imagines something similar to the smoke signals shot off by the Survey Corps, just with more fire than smoke.

When he feels Marco's hand around his, he slowly slides his fingers into the spaces between Marco's, where they fit perfectly, with only the briefest glance back over their shoulders which now brush against each other. It is a reflex that is hard to shrug off. As his gaze returns to his boyfriend, Jean gets a head-start on the lovesick looks. He wears the soft expression unknowingly, but like everything with him, it's a show of raw honesty.

Unfortunately, he must look where he is walking, so after a prolonged beat his eyes reluctantly point ahead.]

I don't know about you, but I've probably already had enough food to last me the rest of the day. [He would attempt to sign at least some of this if his hand weren't occupied by Marco's, and his other arm busy with the blanket tucked underneath it.]

[ Judging by how quickly that skewer was inhaled, Kakashi assumes Levi must've liked it, and decides to go up a notch by picking up two skewers of kara-age, and a slice of lemon.

Kara-age is basically yakitori, after all. Just breaded and lightly fried. ]

That was yakitori. [ Said as he squeezes the lemon over both skewers and hands Levi one. ] This is kara-age.

[ He saves one of the skewers for himself. It's not his favorite thing to eat, but since they're here, he might as well eat it. As for the topic of Erwin, he lets it go. As much as he likes Erwin, he's also found himself enjoying spending time alone with Levi over the past few days. ]

[He inspects it a moment, sniffing it again before taking an experimental bite, considering.]

Prefer the other one, but this is good too.

[Levi finishes the rest of that in silence as well, tossing both sticks into the waste bin next to the booth.]

Are those staples in your world, or for special occasions?

[ Kakashi had been working on his own stick of kara-age through a genjutsu mask as he normally does, and has to finish chewing his mouthful and swallow before he can answer. ]

They're usually snack foods that you can order at certain restaurants, such as izakaya, which is a type of restaurant in my world. [ Or something like it, anyway. ] The squid, however, [ he points at the ikayaki for emphasis ] isn't as common, and usually shows up at festivals or certain izakaya that carry it, but it can be more expensive depending on the season.

[Skeptical as he is, he finds himself giving the request greater consideration than he feels it deserves before making his approach with a slow roll of his hips. It’s longer yet before he thinks to languidly extend his hand, palm up, towards Eley, his pale, calculating eyes never leaving the Spirit’s face.]

That sounds great, Marty-chan.

[So many people here are willing to call him that! Since no one at school uses it. Which, really. They totally could. Even should. But people here are awesome, as far as he's seen.

And the arm around his shoulder, well. There's nothing wrong, once that happens, with scooting a little closer to Marty. If it's just a friendly gesture, it's just a friendly gesture...

But Nagisa certainly isn't going to discourage more.]

Have you been here a long time? Luceti, I mean.

[Missing the little, bouncing blond Rin? Of course you are.

Lucky for you, he's returned, with a new skewer. Something fairly wide covered in a hard, pink coating. He's taken a bite off the top one, revealing it to be... a large marshmallow, with three others below it to fill the skewer.]

Rin-chan!

[He holds the skewer out and up.]

You've gotta try this! Strawberry-dipped marshmallows.

No, I just have to make sure I'm careful about what I say or what I can do. Though I can never go back to Heaven. And...being able to live on Earth...I got into a lot of trouble for what I did to do it.

[And she still feels a bit bad about it. She got too many people dragged into it all...]

... Of course.

[No Iroh she's not giving you a strange look for that one at all, whatever would give you that idea?]

Yes, it is a most civilized drink. Very good for your health, both body and soul!

[He'll just continue on ignoring the look, since he is a man who adores his tea]
