Ah... I didn't know you could practice speaking by using a pinwheel like that. That's very impressive!

[Not even Erica can work out how exactly chewing on a pinwheel can make animals be able to talk. But here's a talking cat! And cats can't just talk, they must have to practice for a very long time with pinwheels to be able to get to that stage... So yes, very impressive, good work Mister Cat.]

[Oh yeah, that Asbel guy! She remembers him!

She'll do better than just saying hi. She'll surprise him with a secret hello from behind! Before Asbel manages to have another mouthful of curry, Erica runs up behind him and claps her hands over his mouth and nose.]

[Well, you're not alone in your enjoying of the hot chocolate at least, Natalia. Asbel happens to be seated nearby, blowing on a mug of regular hot chocolate before he takes a sip of the piping hot beverage.]

[If it weren't for the hot chocolate then she might have been worried that Lee thought she was setting him up to throw her. Instead she laughs softly and gives him a warm smile.]

I couldn't be more sure that it isn't, there's no throwing in this dance. [Again she rests one hand on his shoulder and takes a hold of her dress with her other, making sure to look Lee right in the eyes once they have the position down.] Your role is the leader and I am your partner.

[You're not the only one who's been binging on all the foods and hot chocolate here, Ash. Gold's been running around the festival with a heaping mugful of the stuff himself. And at this moment, he runs right up to Ash with a mug of plain hot chocolate and wraps his arm around Ash's shoulder.]

Heeeeeey, Ash, buddy!

You don't have to give me anything, being with a friend and seeing your smile is more than enough. [Erica clasps her hands together in front of her chest as she looks between Natalia and the penguin.] Wouldn't it be wonderful if you had a jumper just like this penguin? Then you could both match.

[It's really too bad that the sprites aren't setting up any cheesy romantic clothing stores.]

You did, I remember you saying so! I thought maybe you might have wanted to give it a go now. [But clearly that isn't the case. Hmm.] How about a game instead? Games are always fun, if they weren't then they wouldn't be games!

Yeah it is! I'm Ash and Pikachu here is my best buddy!

[ Pikachu happily says hello to Ion in his own Pikachu way. ]

I didn't know they had Pokemon masks here!

[He'll meet her half way, standing as close as he can be to Jane without actually touching her. Personal space is no longer a thing.]

I'm not gonna ask nicely for something that was already mine. If you won't give it back now... I'll just have to take it from you!

Squid comes from the ocean. It's not quite like fish, but it's closer to fish than something like chicken.

[ And since Levi has lived the entirety of his life in a landlocked walled city, most likely he would never be able to sample anything like squid. ]

[ Said as he picks up one of the ikayaki with its skewer and passes it to Levi. He's maybe a little amused that he's been more or less feeding Levi, but there's something a little endearing about all of this. ]

[ OH HEY THERE GOLD. Ash grins at him when he hears Gold. ]

Heeeey Gold! It's good t' see ya!

[ Meanwhile Pikachu, who has had some of Ash's Plain Hot Chocolate hops onto Gold's head. Hello Gold! ]

[Excellent, they're terrigood then! When Norma starts coming closer he closer his eyes and prepares himself for the worst. Or best in this case... Only to end up opening one of his eyes when she stops.]

Sure I'm sure! If you're saying that then I- [Wait. Streak? What. He's visibly thrown off again as he completely misses where that nickname came from.] Uh, I mean... I wouldn't have said that if I couldn't take what you've got, would I? I can take anything you throw at me!

[It sounds more like he's expecting a fight now rather than a kiss, or even healing magic at this point.]

[Later on in the evening, once the fireworks have commenced, Gold manages to finally find Masaomi amidst the sea of people attending the spectacle. He plops himself down right next to Masaomi, holding a mug of (plain) hot chocolate. He's been binging on the stuff all night.]

[He blinks a couple of times, cheeks reddening. The realization's sinking in, hitting him like a baseball to the face.]

...Uh. For the record? I normally wouldn't say stuff like that. Dunno what came over me.

[Xzana takes the bear hug and to her credit does not pass out. She stiffens thinking the force of the hug was going to be more like a tackle her brothers and sisters would sometimes give, but no, it's soft.

Eventually she even relaxes into the cuddles. Too young for breeding, Xzana had never shared many tender moments with anyone other than her mother. Her mother typically being much, much larger and scalier than humans. This was... nice.

She rests her forehead against the side of Norma's head. No romantic intentions on her part. A soft nuzzle is how her mother use to comfort her and she is only trying to do the same.]

[The look the Spirit slants him is met with a low, mirthless chuckle, his smile barely moving his lips and nowhere near reaching his eyes.]

Taking advantage? [His eyebrows lift mildly at the accusation.] Oh, no. [There's a slow, soft shake of his head and he draws his hand back.] As the humans are wont to say... we are now even.

Oh, you wouldn't say that it was flying?!

[ But yes. He leans now, towards the other boy ]

Oh, Jean-san! [ He waves at her, twirling in place to get into a better position to face her. And also for effect. ] I was thinking I might do my own impression of Santa-san, don't you know?!

[Fenimore's eyes widen slightly when she sees the charm, looking surprised -- for some reason, it never occured to her that Rei would still be carrying its match, even if it seems likely enough in hindsight -- but after a brief moment, she smiles again, brightly.]

It's worked almost unbelieveably well, almost immediately. Though...even without it, I think I'd --

[-- "have fallen for you anyway" is what she would have said had she been drinking any of the hot chocolate, but without it, she chickens out at the last second.]

I'm sure I'd have come to like you just as much as I do now. ...But I still appreciate its help in making things go as smoothly as they did.

[The festival automatically gains some approval points simply because it takes place by the lake -- that's what is on Walter mind as he scans the stalls and walks around to take in the sights. The food spread is very appealing to him with its numerous sweets, so he spends a fair amount of time picking and choosing what to try before taking a cup of hot chocolate and walking around.

He notices Fenimore seated with her own cup, pausing in his strolling to regard her.]

[Laughing, Rei leans in close and gives Fenimore a little kiss on the cheek. She had an inkling, perhaps that, the other girl was going to say something incredibly sweet.]

I'm sure they didn't hurt at all.

[The gift giving settled, she looks around at the festival.]

So, now that we're here together...what would you like to do?

[ Erwin is glad that Levi is at least tolerating his presence. They'd spent the first day afterwards mostly apart by Erwin's decision, but they've seen one another fairly consistently since--or as much as they usually do, at least. Most people wouldn't see anything amiss about their interactions. But most people don't know how to read either of them. ]

I see. I arrived only a few hours ago, myself.

[ And he's been by himself, for the most part, taking in the sights and sampling the foods. ]
