Who: Anyone and everyone!
What: A feast of pancakes in honour of Shrove Tuesday.
When: Tuesday March 25th
Where: House 51
Summary: Truly a feast day second only to Christmas!
Rating: PG/PG-13 for language if someone gets burned on the stove or hit by exploding magical pancake batter.

He's got a bit more of an idea about what to expect this year at least, but the kitchen still looks like a disaster area. There's milk and eggs and flour in large quantities, as well as oil for cooking, and a selection of sweet and savory treats to go with the pancakes. He's pretty fond of the bacon ones personally.

[There's a small smile on her face as she receives the pancakes. Its certainly been awhile.]

B'Elanna, and I wouldn't say you're the craziest person I've met here.

Well, Luceti does have a fair few crazy people. Although I've found that what's crazy for one world is survival for any other.

Isn't that the truth. That applies between worlds even in my reality. What's normal for a Klingon is generally crazy for a human.

[She smirks a little at that as she reached for a knife to start slicing a banana onto her pancakes.]

Yeah, I know how that feels. Medical stuff especially. What might save a human is possibly going to poison me.

It's funny, because whatever kills a human will kill a Klingon also. There isn't much of a difference in that regard between both species.

But... if you don't mind my asking, if you're not human, what are you?

[He sure looks like a human.]

Pretty sure that works for me too. I've honestly never thought it necessary to find out what will kill me.

[He grins at the question.]

I'm a mutt. My family is... interesting. For example, my grandmother spends most of the year in seal-shape travelling the oceans with her tribe.

[B'Elanna raises her brows at that.]

Well that's... interesting. But I suppose we have something in common. Being "mutts" I mean.

She's a selkie. There's a lot more of them than you'd think. In my world anyway.

[he gives her a curious look.]

Yeah? Not saying it's a bad thing.

Whether it's bad or not depends on your perspective.

[She says this with distaste as she's personally not fond of her heritage.]

I'm half human and half Klingon.

Depends how many people you can spite by not caring.

...I think I have about as much idea what a Klingon is as you do what a selkie is, but I imagine some of the stigma is similar.

I wouldn't say stigma but yeah, it's... complicated.

These things always are. Depends on so many factors.
