Luceti Projects Mingle
Who: Anyone and everyone interested in Luceti Projects.
What: Luceti Projects meet-and-greet!
When: Backdated to the 22nd. Begins at noon, lasts all day.
Where: The barracks.
Summary: A few LP members have organized a get-together at the barracks for those with an interest in Luceti Projects to talk, eat, and relax while socializing.
Rating: PG
[ Quite a bit of thought and elbow grease has been put into preparing the barracks for this event. A banner is tacked across above the entrance that reads, "Welcome to Luceti Projects Opening Celebration!" in green paint. It's not exactly the sort of arts and craft masterpiece it could have been had they enlisted the help of one of the kids (such as Ikki), but it's better than nothing.
Just before entering the main festivities is a table with a sign-up sheet, manned by different members of Luceti Projects on a rotating basis, to answer questions or encourage sign-up.
Through the open doors of the barracks' largest hall, long wooden farmstyle tables have been set in rows to encourage mingling, placed adjacent to tables filled with food and drink that hug the walls. A wide range of different appetizers, snacks, and larger entrees have been set out for attendees, with plenty of plates, utensils, cups, and napkins. As a way to encourage more cultural exchange, the cuisine, catered by Okumura Rin, includes a little from different worlds -- cheese and crackers; sushi and yakitori; pasta and roast chicken; salads and other vegetable dishes, including a vegetable and potato stew, heavily featuring corn. A few sweets, such as cookies and a few cakes, sit alongside the savory dishes, next to which sits a very large bowl of non-alcoholic fruit punch (courtesy of Ms. Ginia). There is plenty of water, soft drinks, teas and coffee, and milk.
For those interested in trying out a more communal dish, placed about every five feet of table is a hot pot, specifically for sukiyaki, inside which vegetables, mushrooms, tofu, thin-sliced beef slowly simmer in a delicate broth of soy sauce, mirin, and sugar. Under these simmering ingredients is a base of udon and shirataki noodles to soak up the broth. Small bowls, utensils, and condiments such as soy sauce and eggs for the sauce, sit alongside each pot to encourage communal sharing.
On the other side of the hall is a wet bar (wo)manned by Ginia, with plenty of booze and an alcoholic variety of punch. Coolers filled with beer sit on the floor behind the wet bar. Martinis and other mixed drinks will be served in biodegradable plastic cups.
The smell of charcoal and wood burning wafts through the open back doors, from the glow of a respectably sized bonfire built behind the building, alongside which a long table is set, its surface filled with an assortment of graham crackers, chocolate, marshmallows, large sausages, kabobs with different meats and vegetables, and skewers for roasting.
A few yards away are the outdoor training grounds where a rather large array of weapons, both lethal and non-lethal of the wooden variety, have been set out for anyone who would like to spar. Some dried-out logs have been repurposed into a spectator area. The only rules posted: no use of magic or anything else that could critically harm opponents or spectators. No guns, except in the target practice area. Absolutely no killing. ]
(OOC: Assume that your character will be served drinks by Ginia at the bar, so use the bar area to mingle with whomever else, unless you’d like a thread. If your character would like to man the sign-up area, feel free to just drop them in on anyone. If they don’t know how to answer a question, just have them direct anything to either Erwin or Kakashi. Most importantly, have fun!!
Also, if your character hasn't voted about the LP leadership structure, the poll is still open over here! Even if they don't want to make a comment on the post itself, they can definitely still vote!)

Re: SURE
Oh! Hey there, ahhh - Kakashi, right?
no subject
He stares at Vash for a moment, then realizes that he's being rude and switches gears. ]
Right.
no subject
And neither was she. The sooner she was her normal height again the better...]

That wiggling might've been a weird shoulder-twitch.
...or maybe he has a pet with him, like a Pokemon, that just happens to be shy and is hiding, or something along those lines. Would make a lot of sense as to why it looks like his collar was moving on its own just now. ]
Sure. Are you enjoying yourself?
no subject
Or well, at least what good food I should sample first! Because it all looks so very tasty!
[He won't outright expose Adela, but he'll have a little fun trying to expose her anyway.
Be glad, Kakashi, this is the man you had a serious talk about defending Luceti with. Truly... he is a master. A master of what is yet to be made clear.]

Right.
At least someone's having a good time at the party. Kakashi's glad that all the hard work that went into planning this event is more or less paying off. ]
Well, there's plenty of food to go around, so help yourself. I recommend trying the sushi, it's very fresh. The sukiyaki's also quite good, and apparently the chef's specialty -- ah, that would be the dish in the pots over there.
[ He gestures towards the table behind them. ]
no subject
Then again, hard to ignore a recommendation of sushi. Do they taste as good as a Salmon sandwich? [Because that's one thing he's really missed eating since the ability to eat baked goods like bread was taken from him.]

Not only does the comment about the little angel give it away, but that wince most certainly did. ]
Do you have something hiding in that collar of yours? A pet, maybe?
[ Curiously, as he eyes the slight movement at Vash's collar. ]

-- and that's when she slips. And cries out as she goes straight down the back of Vash's coat. And is yelling almost all the way down while trying frantically to cling onto something to slow her fall. At last it ends with her managing to slow by clinging to the very edge of the coat, but the yank of downward force causes her to let go and land on the floor harshly.
Well, for her. So she's shaking and groaning a bit as she tries to get up from that.]
Ow...
1/2
2/2
[He was debating doing it anyway, up until at the last moment he feels her momentum slowing enough that it's probably safe for her to fall to the floor. Not comfortable, but not deadly either.]
Adela! Are you alright?! [Crap. He can't see where exactly she landed with the tails of his coat in the way.] And where are you exactly? [As he's guessing it's near his feet.]
no subject
He stares down at the tiny little... thing... (is that a person?) that had dropped out of the bottom of Vash's jacket, and then with Vash calling out Adela's name, Kakashi realizes that said little thing is actually Adela, and she's all of about three inches tall.
Now that's... quite strange.
He crouches down onto the ground, where Adela's more less by Vash's boot, and reaches a hand out, to give Adela a gentle poke.
Is this for real? ]
no subject
...
[But she couldn't bring herself to say anything. She briefly recognizes him as someone she's met before, but at the moment she doesn't say anything - unwilling to say anything.]
no subject
Sorry about that, Adela. I guess you shouldn't move around too much in my collar. [The gunman offers his hand down, flat open, on the ground for her to step onto if she'd like a lift up onto his shoulder again.]
no subject
I assume you weren't always this size, otherwise I imagine operating as a smithy would be pretty... challenging.
[ This must be the Malnosso's doing. ]
no subject
[She steps onto Vash's hand, seating herself in preparation for the ride back up. Damn she's sore from that tumble though, not to mention embarrassed that it happened... It doesn't seem like this man is going to make anything of it though.]
no subject
You have to admit, they do like trying to get creative now and then. At least it's given me a chance to spend more time with my neighbor!
no subject
[No, not taking the shoulder just yet, she wants to make it clear that this is humiliating and she doesn't like it.]
no subject
[ Said after he straightens up, eyeing the tiny girl. This is definitely new, and he supposes he would be a little comical if not for the fact that life is probably extremely dangerous for Adela right about now. ]
no subject
no subject
So yes, life has been extremely dangerous for her while she's been in this state, something that - for the moment - she's leaving unsaid.]
