Who: Everyone!
What: First Annual Luceti Tournament
When: May 2nd
Where: Battle Dome
Summary: Peony has made good on his promise to set up a tournament and today is the day for all the action.
Rating: PG-13 for the violence/fighting/possible language.

Finally the promised day has arrived! As competitors and audiences alike gather for the start, the whole outside area draws the eye to the grand carpet and banners with symbols for every event. There is also a table being restocked with free snacks and water bottles for those waiting around or still finding their way. Most notably, though, is a signboard with the times for all the events and competitors.

Whether you're competing or here for the entertainment, however, it's hoped you'll enjoy the events and fight or cheer hard! Now without further ado, make your own threads or comment around and let the games begin...

Actually, speaking of that - do you know if we're allowed to transform?

[ Yep ]

Uh. I don't know about that. [Helpful. Sorry Rin.] I wasn't going to transform for this...

[Using his sword in his other form isn't something he's used to do doing, it's far easier for him to punch and kick when transformed instead. But if he doesn't transform then he's not sure how he'll be able to keep up with Rin if he does... But you know, this raises another question.]

If you did transform then would you use your flames? I was wondering about my artes. [Most of them are just different moves with a sword, which he's pretty sure he could use, but then there's Beast and Demon Fang...]

I'm pretty sure using 'em would be cheating, wouldn't it...? But I'm not sure if transforming is cheating in the first place. [ And at this, he's no longer ready for battle, he's crossing his arms in mild confusion as he tries to think this over. Besides, both of them can transform, so that might be more even, right...? They should probably ask the judges or something ]

[He was so ready for things to get started, but now his shoulders droop and he sighs.]

I don't know if transforming would be cheating either... But I'm not going to since I can handle a sword better like this. [Human form does the slashing. Beast form does the punching. Kind of hard to do the punching in a swordsmanship competition.] Wouldn't it be easier if you didn't too?

[Easier as in they won't have to mess around finding out what the ruling is on transformations.]

Yeah, it'd probably be less confusing. It's just then I can't use Kurikara.

[ But okay! Random sword it is. He sets Kurikara aside to take up this random katana he prepped at the shop just in case]

You can still fight the same without it, right? You'll be fine.

[So! That dealt with, are they cool to go now? If so then he'll ready up again and take the same stance he had before.]

Yeah, of course I can! [ Probably. But with bluster, he adopts a stance with his katana in both hands and his tail curled up behind him. See, he's good to go here ;T ]

Well good! I wouldn't want to hear you trying to make excuses when you lose because of your sword or something! [Took him long enough to ready up, worrying over swords and transformations. Gosh.

Once he sees Rin is all set, he wastes no times in rushing in to attack. With the sword in his right hand, Caius draws the weapon up to his left shoulder before swinging it back in a wide, downwards swipe towards Rin.]

I'm just bein' fair about it!

[ But he makes to meet that slash with his own defense. Bringing his own sword up to block and intercept is all that he can manage right now ]

[Rather than try and overpower Rin's defense, he draws his sword back once it connects with Rin's and tries to follow it up with another attack. He aims low, trying to slash around Rin's sword so not to end up clashing with it again.]

[ Which...! Works! Rin does manage to try to backstep, but the sword does connect with his leg. He doesn't let up though, instead just stumbling back to try to make for an overhead slash ]

[As the last attack connected he was planning to follow up with another swipe with his sword, but the overhead slash catches him off guard. Quickly he ducks down to avoid it, putting him into an awkward crouch position with his free hand being used to support himself. It's a poor position to be in, but he tries another attack at Rin's legs since it worked pretty well last time.]

[ and he skids back at that, again to try to evade it, but that trips hims up a little. The slash doesn't connect, which also over-balanced him. The combination of the two means that he ends up tripping over his own tail a little, and actually stumbles bit. Some coreography ]

[Really Rin, tripping over your own tail? That's... Pretty impressive? He can't help shooting Rin an odd look at that. It might not have been a hit but getting him to stumble back is pretty good too. He uses this chance to attack again, bringing his sword up in front of him in a long vertical slash as he stands up.]

Hey, hey, I'm not out yet!

[ And whole he's now flat-footed, he does manage to bring the sword up to intercept it. He holds the back of it with his other hand, even, to reinforce the block ]

You will be soon if you pull another move like that!

[It seems he spoke to soon as his sword clashes against Rin's again, the strengthened guard Rin put up being a little more than he expected.

With the position he was in from his last attack it's difficult for him to pull back so he can try a different attack. So this time he tries to push against the guard, his free hand flying to the hilt of his sword to put what strength he has into breaking Rin's defense.]

Shut up!

[ And Rin just pushes back more! Trying to use his strength to turn this defense into an offensive push! He can do this!! ]

[Do this he can!! Caius ends up being pushed back, stumbling a little as he tries to regain his footing and his stance. He waves his sword in front of him as he falls back, trying to deter any follow up attacks!]

[ ALRIGHT HE'S GOT THIS!! ]

Haaaah!

[ And he tries to go in for a slash! Horizontal slash ]

[He slashes back wildly to try and defend himself with a horizontal slash of his own. The attack is too high though, leading to his slash sailing just over the top of Rin's attack. With that he ends up taking the attack, Rin's sword scoring a nice hit on his dominant arm.]

I messed up...

[Really he shouldn't have been so careless. Or perhaps so confident? Either way he'll be more careful next time. He hops back and stands on the balls of his feet, holding his sword up as though he's ready to strike should Rin decide to move in.]

I did it?

I did it!

[ AND HE IS GOING TO LEAP BACK FOR JOY NOW. hehehehe ]

[He wouldn't have minded being hit so bad if Rin didn't have to act all happy over it, it was only one hit it isn't that amazing wow--]

Well you're not doing it again!!

[Running in, he lifts his sword up and slashes down at Rin once he's closed the gap between them!]

[ Which Rin tries to block! ... And fails! So he gets launched backwards a bit but also just takes the blow ( ow) ]

[YEAH that's 2 to 1 now BUT HE'S NOT LETTING UP.

After that hit he moves with the momentum of his sword, turning his body and bringing his sword around him as he moves. He attacks a second time in a wide, horizontal sweep!]
