He looked up at the green-scaled woman and gave her a tired smile. He was simply to exhausted to try and hide the hurt or the mental exhaustion that suffused him. There wasn't enough in him at the moment.

"I'm okay, just sore," he said, trying anyways. Bones would yell at him for trying to play it tough, but it was what he did. A captain didn't let the crew see how much they were hurt, the Captain had to make the tough calls and be the pillar the crew stood upon.
