Zompania Draft: Coming Home
Who: Anyone drafted to Zompania, or recruited as reinforcements, or left behind in the village. SO. Everybody!
What: The draftees and reinforcements return to the village.
When: May 26, early early in the morning
Where: Back in Luceti
Summary: Most draftees and reinforcements return to Luceti in the very early hours; now, instead of a medevac site for the draft, the village is a welcome (?) refuge from the nightmare of Zompania for its own. There's a high likelihood it still looks a lot like it has in the past few days; those in the fight didn't even get a chance to shower before returning.
(This is the place for all your post-draft trauma and reunions and every other thing. Have fun! And don't forget to entry-tag your character.)

"Careful, Captain."

He looked up at the green-scaled woman and gave her a tired smile. He was simply to exhausted to try and hide the hurt or the mental exhaustion that suffused him. There wasn't enough in him at the moment.
"I'm okay, just sore," he said, trying anyways. Bones would yell at him for trying to play it tough, but it was what he did. A captain didn't let the crew see how much they were hurt, the Captain had to make the tough calls and be the pillar the crew stood upon.

Which was Vastra's way of telling Kirk that he didn't have to be brave around her. She'd been in the middle of it, and she had seen only half of the battle. In an effort to give Kirk a bit more support, Vastra put her arm around his waist and took on some of his weight-- easily.
"Let's get you to bed. Perhaps some strong coffee in the morning."
no subject
He could have protested her actions, but he was simply to tired. And grateful. So he let her do as she wished, noting she was a fair bit stronger than he had initially thought. Not that he thought she was weak, but Kirk wasn't a small man.
"Maybe a shower before bed," he suggested. "I don't think Spock will appreciate me getting mud all over the sheets." The words came out without his thinking about them, mind fuzzy and thick as mud as he concentrated on walking and not taking a dirty nap then and there.
no subject
"Who is Spock?" Perhaps if Spock was a friend or housemate or spouse, he or she would be glad to make certain Kirk didn't drown himself in the shower.
no subject
"You haven't met him?" He asked, honestly surprised. He kind of thought they'd get along, but that was for another time.
"Well he's..." My boyfriend, my lover, my friend, a lot of things he wasn't sure about and he didn't necessarily go around crowing about it either. He didn't think Spock would like it. "He's important to me. A Vulcan who came here with me. We live together."
no subject
Vastra didn't even try to hide a smile. She could read between the lines easily enough--body language, pauses, word choice, she interpreted them even before she had come to Luceti and used them in her line of work. Of course, it wasn't her business if Kirk chose to talk about his relationships, but the thought that Kirk was attempting to conceal via omission was amusing to her. Not much slipped by her, ever.
"Well then, perhaps he can help you into a shower. I'd be concerned about you remaining upright for more than two, maybe a minute and a half."
no subject
Well, at least she got it without him having to outright say it. It saved a lot of explaining, though he was sure Spock would have an easier time of it if they had to. It was new for Kirk, being a couple, being committed to someone. Very new and sometimes a bit daunting.
"Hey, give me credit. I think I can manage five," he snorted at her as they walked.
no subject
"Fine, fine. Three and a half, and not a second more," she chuckles.
no subject
"We could always compromise and get a stool," he suggested, not at all protesting the fact Vastra seemed to be half offering to bathe him. Had he been less tired, he might have played on that more, but his brain was to shot for such flirting.
"I can sit longer than I can stand, I bet." No promises on not falling asleep on the stool though.
no subject
At the very least, she's glad that they can joke after walking through absolute hell in Zompania. Which was all she was doing-- the flirting, Kirk would have realized, would have been met with Vastra's unflinching ridicule. So it was probably a good thing that he was too tired to think of anything.
no subject
Ridicule was better than being slapped, and he was equally used to that. You can't ask a bird to change all his feathers, Vastra. Even if he was committed to Spock, he could dole out a few words here and there, right?
"I'm sure it'll all work out. He at least has to put off yelling at me for twenty-four hours, right? That seems fair," he sighed, trudging along and wanting nothing so much as to sit and get his boots off. He was sure his feet were probably blistered from all the running and squelching through unpleasant things he had done over the past week.
no subject
"One would hope. From the state of you, my first reaction would be medically minded, however I am unfamiliar with Mister Spock." Vastra turned, assessing Kirk's expression. "Do you need to stop for a minute?"
no subject
All well and good. He could only do it for fun now anyways, not anything serious. Besides, flirting was a compliment, right?
"No, no, I'm okay. I just have to move slow," he assured here as they fumbled onwards. This would have been an awesome time for Khan's cells to kick in, but he guessed in his body they had their limit since he wasn't a full on genetic experiment gone bad. "You okay? You shouldn't strain yourself either."
no subject
But she was lying, she hadn't ever had a wound so bad.
"But, it's probably to both of our benefits for us to move slow."
no subject
He was quiet a moment, looking at her as he contemplated those words. But, if she wasn't going to admit it, then who was he to say anything about it? Not like he wasn't pulling the same thing right now. He let it go and instead kept on walking with her, like a gentleman.
"If you want, you can use the shower after. B's should be available. I'll smooth it over with her." Seemed wrong to make a lady wait to get clean and all.
no subject
"...but if you had any gauze, I wouldn't say no to that."
no subject
"I am sure we do. It's a given that my home has medical supplies on stand by," he shrugged. He was a man. He did manly things. Medical supplies were a requirement.

"I am a special sort, Vastra, and you should know this by now. Besides, I was working on my motorcycle and accidents can happen with mechanical stuff, right? And I workout," he shrugged, and then winced for it and decided that wasn't a good idea. "On top of that, Spock is to logical for us not to have supplies handy for an emergency."
no subject
Much better to talk about pleasant things, even if the both of them looked like they'd been through a meat grinder.
no subject
"Technically?" he asked. "At a tribunal at the Starfleet Academy accusing me of cheating on his Kobayashi Maru test - which I didn't. Now he's my first officer on my ship, the Enterprise, and the Chief Science Officer." Maybe he had cheated a little. Maybe.
And a meat grinder would have been much kinder than what they had been through.
no subject
no subject
"Well, there was kind of lot in between there, but yes, that's basically how it worked out," he laughed. "I guess it is kind of funny when I explain it like that. And I didn't cheat. I said so, didn't I?"
