Zompania Draft: Coming Home

Who: Anyone drafted to Zompania, or recruited as reinforcements, or left behind in the village. SO. Everybody!
What: The draftees and reinforcements return to the village.
When: May 26, early early in the morning
Where: Back in Luceti
Summary: Most draftees and reinforcements return to Luceti in the very early hours; now, instead of a medevac site for the draft, the village is a welcome (?) refuge from the nightmare of Zompania for its own. There's a high likelihood it still looks a lot like it has in the past few days; those in the fight didn't even get a chance to shower before returning.

Of course. Kyle wanted to see you, and so did Soren and I. We were worried, y'know?

[ They cared, after all. Raven's partner; Soren, who adored her; Ikki, who adored Raven in an entirely different way, but no less fiercely.

Of course they're there. ]

Thanks.

[She says it to all of them, but she's looking at Ikki because it is convenient, and smiling. A real smile, she isn't even hiding it behind her hair or her shoulder.

Raven motions to Kyle, then, a hesitant but clear 'come over here'.]

[breezing]

[ Ikki will release Kyle from her lap onto the bed, and scoots forward herself. ]

I'm glad you're back.

[pendantry]

Me too.

[Surprising as that is. Raven grunts while she pushes herself up to sitting until she's up far enough to put her more-usable arm around Kyle, as tight as she can. That's the other thing she's glad for, that the people and monsters who matter so much to her didn't have to go through that sickening death.]

[breezing]

...We didn't hear a lot about what happened here, but it was pretty bad, wasn't it.

It was.

[Eyes closed, practically held up by her pokemon, Raven holds her breath to keep too much emotion from changing what she says. Ikki shouldn't know. Ikki shouldn't suffer, even with someone else's memories.]

It's hard to think about.

[breezing]

...I'm sorry. I didn't mean to bring it up.

[ She knows it couldn't have been easy, whatever it was. She still remembers how people looked, coming back from the last draft. ]

It's hard to forget about the war outside here, until the drafts, huh.

Sometimes I forget. [As traumatizing as TERRACE was, it brought Raven a friend, and when that friend disappeared, everything slowly gave way underneath her, other disappearances taking huge chunks out of her heart. Those things were more important than somebody else's war.

Startled, still, by the clinging hug, Kyle keeps making what she thinks are comforting noises. They sound more cute and growly than anything.]

What happened here while we were gone?

[She just wants to hear Ikki talk. About anything.]

They asked for volunteers, a little while after you were gone, saying you guys were in trouble. Otherwise...

[ She shrugs, a little. ]

I stayed with Uncle Sokka, but I played with Sophie sometimes. I tried to keep her distracted.
