Summary: It's the first week of class for all you wonderful students, both new and old! Enjoy catching up with friends, trying to find your classes, engaging in all aspects of college life, and... let's not forget about the upcoming game.
Rating: PG-13 at best, guys. I know this is supposed to be college but if you're going to engage in the more... racy aspects of college life, take it off-comm!

[Billy's week is pretty hectic, between getting books and supplies and setting up an organizational system for his double course-load, figuring out how the heck to be a decent TA to the first-years, and carefully maintaining just enough free time to avoid losing either his sanity or his boyfriend. It's a very, very tenuous equilibrium, but it'll totally be worth it in four... six... how many years? Well. Less than the rest of his life. He can deal.

Most of his time will be spent in classes (psych or medical-related, because he's an idiot like that), but if you're lucky you might catch him at a quiet moment between work, hanging out (and doing homework) in the theater department, grabbing a quick bite in one of the restaurants (reading, reading, always reading), or bumming around the stadium to watch the football practice and wait for Teddy so they can go home together. He's a bit all over the place, and he probably looks frazzled by week's end, but he's here to make the most of this experience, dammit, and no one will get him down for long. Not the future Dr. Kaplan, no sir.

He's also on Featherbook, like almost everyone else.

For those unaffected - or maybe old classmates from a previous "year" - he looks a little different than normal: a bit less filled out (due to a lack of superheroics giving him incentive to build those muscles up), prescription glasses (thanks, mom and dad), and a single gold hoop in his right ear (probably Teddy's fault). Otherwise, Billy is Billy.]

Mr. Kaplan, I had not expected to find you squirreled away backstage so early in the year.

[ Zevran does not always have the opportunity between scripts, budgets, and set approvals to actual wander about the theater proper- more's the pity- but when he does he enjoys the opportunity to speak to the students that hold some affection for it.

Familiar faces are always welcome. ]

[Billy glances up from his little burrow of notes and textbooks, eyebrow quirked.]

I prefer the term 'nesting'. Trying to hatch an intellectual egg or something.

[Because wings, hah hah, so very punny. Teddy would be proud. ...Oh god, Teddy would be proud. He's so ashamed.]

Anyway, I like the smell of this place. It's relaxing to study here.

I'm pleased that we offer such an intellectual incubator.

[ Seriously. So pleased. Look at him being pleased with the arch of his brows and twist of his lips. ]

Ah, yes. Paint stripper and sawdust. It reminds me much of home- I suppose that's why I've always been most comfortable reviewing scripts here.

You can't really smell the paint from up here.

[It's true; the scent is faint enough when you put enough seats between yourself and the stage. The sawdust is nice because it travels, the scent permeating through the air. It's different; clean in a distinctly non-chemical way.]

Your home smelled like that?

I had a tiny apartment above a carpenter's shop. Hours they would while away crafting furniture and I was often lulled to sleep by the sound of bandsaws and the scent of lacquer. Now and then I miss it. And then I remember walking backstage often has be waylaid with outrageous requests regarding potential productions and the feeling passes.

Sounds... very homey. My home smelled like big city more than anything.

[God, he just left home and he's already kind of nostalgic. At least he has Teddy and his pets for something familiar to come home to.]

Now that I think of it- where is your other half? He is not normally far if you have settled in for the evening.

What else could separate true love but sports? He's at practice tonight.

[With the big game approaching, it's no wonder they've been especially busy lately.]

Ah, yes. Preparing for the assault on KU. Or, at least, that is how Vegeta puts it.

[ The man's zeal and vehemence are something to admire, to be certain. ]

Seems like he's taking it pretty literally. Maybe we should have a medical team on standby.

...I know you are teasing, but I feel like that would not be entirely unwise.

[Billy would like to laugh at that, but the thought of injuries - and Teddy being in the middle of that - makes him wince a little.]

Can't hurt to be cautious, right...?

[After this, Teddy gives a half smile as he puts his phone away and waits for his boyfriend to walk in. Thanks to their whole exchange, Teddy's got one of those songs stuck in his head, and he hums it to himself while watching the door and tapping his foot to it. Dammit, bf, that was totally your fault.]

[Billy hadn't been far from the door when he sent his last text, but it had buzzed with Teddy's last reply right before he walked through the door, so he's stuffing it back in his pocket as he pushes through the front door and looks for his boyfriend. Thankfully a tall blond football hunk is an easy find, so he offers up a smile and a wave before heading over to meet him- with a proper, lips-to-lips greeting.]

Hey. Been waiting long?

[halfnhalf]

[The kiss earns a smile, and Teddy wraps his arms loosely around Billy's waist while giving him his attention in the bustle of the cafe.]

Nah, about ten minutes maybe. I passed the time by letting I See the Light play in my head over over. [He raises his eyebrows, giving Billy a pointed look.] Your fault, by the way.

[Billy gives him the most innocent look that he can muster.]

I have no idea what you're talking about.

[He drapes his arms around Teddy's shoulders, tilting up to get closer. He's not that much shorter, but sometimes it's nice to feel tall regardless.]

[halfnhalf]

No? [He grins, leaning in to bump Billy's nose with his own.] Then I guess it was someone else who called me Mother Gothel.

Obviously it was my evil twin. He stole my phone.

[He has one, you know. Sort of.]

[halfnhalf]

Oooh, okay. [With that, Teddy leans back, hands retreating to his own hips as he casually looks out the window.] So that means I'm meeting Tommy here for a date. And a medical exam. Sorry, my bad.

[Billy quirks a brow, keeping his hands clasped together behind Teddy's head, preventing him from moving too far away.]

You're awfully casual, admitting that you were about to cheat on your fiancé.

[halfnhalf]

[Teddy keeps his hands on his hips, though he looks at Billy again to quirk a brow at that comment.]

Oh yeah. I'm always casual about these kinds of affairs.

[... lol, affairs.]

[selfhelp]

[....

Billy tilts his head forward and bumps it against Teddy's chest, shoulders slumping in defeat.]

Teddy, no.

[Not the puns.]

[halfnhalf]

[Pffft okay, Teddy has to break the act and tilt his head back to laugh at that, arms finding their way around Billy's waist again. There's always something about telling a terrible joke or pun and seeing Billy react like that.]

I think you mean yes.

[selfhelp]

[Billy shakes his head, like he's trying to burrow into the shirt and hide from the ridiculousness of it.]

I can't handle bad puns after a full day of classes, come back tomorrow.
