What: IT'S TIME FOR COLLEGE, YO.
When: September 8 - 12th.
Where: All over "campus".
Summary: It's the first week of class for all you wonderful students, both new and old! Enjoy catching up with friends, trying to find your classes, engaging in all aspects of college life, and... let's not forget about the upcoming game.
Rating: PG-13 at best, guys. I know this is supposed to be college but if you're going to engage in the more... racy aspects of college life, take it off-comm!

I just can't shake the feeling that this week is the most important. I don't know WHY I just kinda. Do.

Like it'll end and then I'm gonna blink and be graduating and it's all over.

Hmm.... It's all right. [She smiles gently.] Even if you feel that way, you don't need to worry. You have a whole year to spend doing what's most important to you.

What is most important to you?

Getting my stats up in case a recruiter swings by. Making sure Loki adjusts to being blind if it doesn't get better- I might actually just. If he can't get his sight back I might give up on the football thing entirely and do what I can to help him.

He'll give me hell for it but...

[ Thor shrugs. Loki's his little brother. He can't NOT look out for him. And sure he'll get called an idiot for giving up this chance but someone needs to help Loki adjust- at last until he can handle things on his own. After that there's always geology. ]

Jim. Jim's important but I don't know if it's fair to put things on him, you know? He's got his own dreams he wants to shoot for and I support him one hundred percent.

Thor, dear.... [She doesn't quite sigh.] Nobody knows if Loki has lost his sight for good or just for a little while. Maybe he'll get it back. And if he doesn't, he has lots and lots of friends to help him. You don't need to do it alone.

[With unusual weight, she finishes:] If you give up your dream for Loki, you won't be happy and neither will he. You're such a wonderful brother to think about doing that for him. But if you do, regret will come into your relationship with him, and it will be very, very hard to make it leave.

...You're right. [ He'd thought it'd be pride that he'd have to worry about when helping Loki adjust but- maybe it's less pride and more potential resentment. Regret for chances not taken.

He'd hate to do that to Loki and Loki would hate him for giving up on something so important to him. ]

I don't know how well I"d be able to focus on my games if I didn't know how he was holding up. But...that's what cell phones are for, right?

That's right. [She sets her hand over his again.] And Loki is a very, very smart young man. I think that, even if he has lost his sight for good, he'll learn how to do things on his own very quickly.

[She's a little concerned about the mental health side of things, but...well, she's not about to add that worry to Thor when it's clear he has more than his share.]

Smartest guy I know.


[ Loki could figure it out. And...he could always send some of his checks back to help him out that way. Finances. Just to make sure he's well taken care of if he never gets to see again. Yeah. Thor relaxes under Grune's hand, far more settled than he had been earlier. ]

Guess I just have to worry about how to break it to my dad about the dealership, huh?

[When he relaxes, she smiles, pats his hand, and takes hers away.]

You don't need to worry about that right now, either. You have lots of time to think about the best way to help your father understand your feelings. You don't have to do it all at once.

And you don't have to do it alone. I can help.

He's going to be here for the game. He's always here for the first and last game of the season.

[ Maybe he won't have to say anything then- but he'll have to say something soon. It's stressful, wondering about that. ]
